Dad: Thanks for putting up with me for so long, never giving up, and keeping your cool. You always believed in me even during the times I didn't, and you always try to lead me in the right direction. You've dedicated a lot of your time and I appreciate that. So thanks for all of your help. Mom: You raised me to be who I am and have taught me so many things. When things get frustrating, you're there to try and lighten things up. I've looked up to you for being very understanding, and trying to keep things peaceful. Even though I'm pretty sure I get my communication skills from you and we're both bad with words (haha), you're sensitive to people's emotions. Thanks for letting me do this. BFFs: Thanks for the advice you guys gave, and for your opinions on pictures and songs for the albums (lol)... Jessie, you didn't let me stay a hermit, and I'm glad for that (haha). Thanks for making me laugh all the time. Fish, for being so amazingly cool. Your obsession with taking pictures actually helped a lot with what was to come and you helped me get over my fear of cameras (lol). Musicians/Influences: I'd also like to thank some of the artists who have inspired me to love music. Thank you Tamyra Gray and Kelly Clarkson for showing me how a performance can really move you. Thanks to Natalie Cole for being one of my biggest influences musically. Stevie Wonder for showing the creative and soulful side. Natasha Bedingfield for showing you can be yourself, and not be limited. Eva Cassidy for showing me that music can change lives for the better. Thank you to my recent influences Jason Mraz, John Mayer and Sara Bareilles for helping remind me the artistic expressive side and letting me have a good time listening too. Shout-out to the UT: Thank you to all of my neighbors and members from church who have shown their love and support every step of the way... It has meant the world to me to see the support from Utah, and I hope I make everyone there proud original.gif Go Murray, Utah! All hail vocal coach Dean Kaelin: It's meant a lot to me that you were so willing to help out and would take time out of your busy schedule to do it whenever I was feeling worn out (haha). You helped me stay in my small space and keep my vowels narrow even though I still forget now and then. All those calls have done so much! Thanks for sticking with me and helping me get through those rough years when I had all those issues (lol). American Idol and Fox: Thanks for helping make this dream come true... It's amazing how many people were a part of that experience and each one of you made it an amazing memory for me... Thank you Wendy Wilhite! You were so understanding to the pressure and intense schedule, and being able to talk every day helped me get through the crazy schedule each week. Thanks for helping me get through my schoolwork and letters (haha). You made it so much fun... Thanks Jill Hudson, Alex Gillespie, Jennifer Sprague and Dru Libby for getting me through the PR things smoothly while having a good time! haha "My 'family' for the last year (haha)": Cook, Syesha, Jason, Brooke, Carly, Kristy, Michael Johns, Ramiele and Chikezie: You have all been so inspiring to be around, and I look up to you guys a ton. You've been like my big brothers and sisters and I've had so much fun. I hope we'll still be able to keep in touch, and I look forward to watching you all grow in your careers. I really feel like you guys were there looking out for me and helped me get through some of the difficult moments, even if you didn't realize it since I was always kinda in the background spacing out or whatever (lol). But thanks.

New blog from David
Promo Wrap Up and Family Reunion Hey alllll. Just wanted to let you know that I'm finished with the radio promotion stuff and it was soooo much fun. We went to San Diego, Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Atlanta, Albany, New Haven, Hartford, Worcester, Boston, and Providence. It was cool revisiting some of the cities we went to during tour, and getting a better feel of different places. Oh and the Autumn colors in the East were amazing! I tried taking pictures but they're all horrible haha. It looks a lot better in person anyway. So what I wanted to share today was my time in Atlanta, because I have relatives in the lovely area. What's great is that I had some time off during the promotion tour, and it just so happened to be in Atlanta! So as soon as I got there I called them up. My cousin was at work at a shoe store haha, so I wanted to go surprise her while she was working. My aunt, uncle, and other cousin came to pick me to head down there, and it was fun to see them again. They all came to the video shoot for "Crush" since it was filmed in Georgia, and that was when we last had a little reunion. But anyway, It was fun to see my cousin's reaction when we came in because she wasn't expecting us haha. So we took pictures with all the shoes and with the people she worked with, and then went out to hang out. We went to this cool place to eat called the ESPN Zone, and they had this HUGE screen to watch sports on. They also had an arcade above the eating area, and we messed around a little up there. Another person I got to see while I was down there was Alexandrea Lushington! I haven't seen her since... February? And it was great to see her and her family again. She got to meet my relatives and we all had a really good time. (I have some pictures too so check out my photos.) Oh I wanted to mention another thing. Since I'm back in California, we've started band rehearsals! The band is awwesooomme and are really cool guys. So while I'm here that's what I'll be doing. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but now I'm really pumped haha. But anyway I better get going here and I'll talk to you guys later! P.S. While I was in Hartford, I made a quick appearance at the Boo Bash there which Jordin was at too! It was so good to see her again and we had a fun time just hanging out backstage. So I wanted to share one of my favorite songs on her album for today. So the song for today is Permanent Monday - Jordin Sparks. If you haven't heard it yet, she puts soo much feeling when she sings. You can really feel it in this song, and it allows a lot of emotion into it.

Tues, Oct 28 Radio Daze Today, I'm in Chicago, and have started doing radio promo stuff. I started yesterday in San Diego, then went to Seattle, then later to Milwaukee, and now I'm here in Chicago. Next, we'll be in Pittsburgh pretty soon, haha. Last Friday, I was back in L.A., where I had a photo shoot. The photo shoot was just for some teen magazines, like the ones I've done before. It's amazing how long it can take to just take pictures. I think I was there for like seven hours, and you'd think that pictures wouldn't take that long, haha. But it takes a while to get what you need. You have to figure out which outfits to wear, and then get in the right mood for the kind of shot you need, I guess. On Saturday, Michael Johns was throwing a party for his 30th birthday, and so I went with Brooke and her husband. There were a few familiar faces from the show and tour, and it was nice to see them again. Jason, Chikezie, and Cook were able to go too, so it was kinda like a little reunion with everyone, haha. Sunday, we were able to go to church with Brooke's husband, which I rarely get to do anymore, so that was really nice. Monday is when the radio promo stuff started, and so I'll be doing that for a while. That's where I go to different radio stations in different cities and just talk to them, and meet people who won contests for meet and greet passes, haha. It's been a lot of fun so far, and I've gotten to see a bunch of people who I met during the tour. I'm looking forward to going to the next cities and seeing how it goes, and I'll let you know how those go next week. Take care, David
