A guy described as one of Tony Romo's best buddies from his Eastern Illinois college revealed to the Chicago Sun-Times that Romo quit Jessica Simpson for two reasons - one, the intense media scrutiny that comes from being in Simpson's life and number two, the problems he has with her overbearing father, Joe Simpson.
Duh, Tony! Everyone knows that if you date Jessica, media will be up your ass at every turn!
But, we do feel for him and that Poppa Joe thing.
Joe Simpson has been "not only telling Jessica every move to make, but now has begun to offer unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica."
Poor Pete Wentz…wonder how he deals.
Anyone who dates Jessica in the future should have a nice long talk with Nick Lachey first!
Despite dumping her ass, though, Romo is still expected to accompany to sister Asslee's wedding this weekend.
He's such a gentleman!
That should be nice and AWKWARD.
Romo's friend, though, insists he and Simpson "are definitely over."
Have fun this weekend, Tony!

Overbearing father, stupid mother, and she's pretty much retarded.

That family is soooooo bizarre... but there are so many Joe Simpsons out there, it's kind of scary.

If I got dumped like they're playing up Jessica being done here, there's no way in hell I'd be accompanied barely a week later to my sister's
wedding by the guy who dumped me.

Pete Wentz can deal because Joe doesn't give a shit about Ashlee.

Psh. I called that the first week they started dating. Joe Simpson is out for Joe Simpson. Everything he does for Jessica is for the benefit of himself. Dating
Tony Romo gives him perks too. She's never going to be able to keep a man if she lets him continue to interfere with her life.

That's the part that's confusing me. Are they broken up or not? Unless he's doing it to help her avoid embarrassment. But that wouldn't make
any sense if he takes her to the wedding and then they are never seen together again.

why would he want to be at a wedding w/ all the family of a girl he just broke up w/?I agree. And it makes her look more pathetic since everyone knows they're not together anymore. He's a nice guy for wanting to do that for her but that's embarassing. |

Why can't she just date a non celebrity? There are plenty good looking, well off non celebs. I think she and her dad are too concerned with her trying to
find someone to show up Nick Lachey. Not that Nick is all that or anything..

Plus football season will be starting up soon. I don't think Tony is looking forward to all that nonsense the press created about Jessica like they did
last season.

Forget him Why would she want this?
Creepy dad sabotaging her long term relationships or not, Jessica could find a one night date quite easily if she needed one. Hell, a new, random guy would get her more attention, since that's probably the only reasoning why Romo would still be in consideration if they are broken up. I can't imagine even her being pathetic enough to take a pity date from the guy who dumped her because of her family to a family function barely a week out. |

I've known guys who took their exes to prom even after they broke up. Which is weird with the whole picture-taking and everything.

It's not like her dad lives under a rock and doesn't know what people say about him. If he was truly concerned about his daughter's happiness,
don'tcha think he'd back off? It's really a sad scenario, makes me wanna go hug my very normal and loving dad.

Oh yeah, I agree. She just needs to tell her dad "Thanks dad, but I got this one".
Plus, she just can't break her old habits. She's talking about him months into the relationship. How he's changed her, etc. She said she would keep her private life private after her divorce. |
