Smartest thing you've ever done in OTH!! you mean proposing to lindsay? or kissing peyton back? if the former, then it reminds me a lot of season 1, when he tried to bury his feelings for peyton under a rebound relationship w/ brooke. seems like a recipe for disaster. Proposing! I like Lindsay! But I think in Season 1 he didn't know Peyton liked him back. Now he does, but still proposed. Good for him.

he knew peyton liked him back in S1, and he told her he was burying his feelings for her by being w/ brooke. he tried to run from his feelings for her then, and it made a big mess. anyhow, i can't see where this is any different, especially since he actually kissed her back. if had pulled away from her b/c he realized he was over her and into lindsay, then i could see what you mean. however, i don't think marrying one person to forget someone else is a sound foundation for a marriage.

she didn't really turn him down, though. she just said she wasn't ready, and he wasn't willing to wait. they were only 19, which is honestly too young for a lot of people. i don't see why that makes her the bad guy. lucas should've waited for her since she's clearly the love of his life. instead, he dumped her and made lindsay his rebound. i really don't get why only peyton ever gets blasted, when it's lucas who really owes it to his gfs to be faithful.

Okay, so Peyton turns down his proposal and doesn't fight to stay with him. She acted like a victim, like ALWAYS, and SHE gave up too. She let him walk away. I agree, 19 might haven't been the best age for him to propose, but at the same time, getting engaged isn't getting married right away either. He was hugely vulnerable when he went to see her, after only seeing her few and far between after she left town. She could have accepted his proposal and suggested they wait, LATER. And ultimately, I think she's had more than enough chances to be with him. He's messed up some of the time (and you're right, he always wants to talk out of both sides of his mouth and play both sides, or cheat, or just be moody and isolate himself entirely) but I don't think Peyton knows how to be an equal partner in a relationship. She's always the victim, always expects to be saved, and never really seems that into it. I don't think it's really fair to call Lindsey a rebound. That we can't be sure of. Sure, he had just gotten out of a relationship and might have gone in to the relationship early on because he was lonely or whatever, but his intentions in being with her could have and probably did develop into something else (a la Nathan and Haley). I see genuine loved shared by BOTH Lindsey and Lucas. They seem very much compatible, and much moreso than he and Peyton.

Yeah, the reason Karen opened Tric is because Peyton went to her with the idea of a cool bar type place that high schoolers could go to to hear cool music since most places required you to be 18 or 21...so Tric has always been high school friendly. Though when they were in high school it wasn't as adult as it is now. When they were in high school didn't they have stamps on their hand if you were 21 to drink? So its not all that weird that Quintin is at the same bar as his teacher and coaches.

you can't force someone to be w/ you. he wanted to be engaged right then and there or nothing at all. she was 19, wanted to pursue her dream, and wasn't ready to move back w/ him and settle down. i can't blame her b/c i've watched people give up their dreams really young like that to get married...and the resentment and regret from it eventually ruined the marriage. she begged him to stay in the relationship eventhough she wasn't ready to get engaged/married. he still walked away, so what more could she do? anyhow, i see a caring relationship b/w lucas and lindsay, but i don't see passionate love. i call her a rebound b/c after all this time, lucas still seems to want peyton. they've been alluding to it all season long w/ all the little thngs he keeps saying and doing (telling her that bartender she flirted w/ wasn't good enough for her, giving her the space to start up her record co., kissing her back instead of pulling away, etc.) the first two could just be acts of friendship, but lindsay is right that most exes don't remain close like that. it just seems to me like everytime he feels hurt by peyton, he tries turning to another girl eventhough he isn't (and never seems to be) over her.
