If I'm actually drinking though, iff i'm drinking cocktails I prefer to try their own in house ones rather than the standard Cosmo etc, just whatever sounds good... other than that, I'm usually on wine or on Archers and lemonade (peach schnapps) |

those of you that order mojitos- bartenders everywhere hate you. they also may be adding a little extra something in there for you.
if a bar doesnt offer mojitos as a specialty of theirs i wouldnt advise ordering them. |

its a huge pain in the ass. huge. its a long process and if you arent already set up it makes a huge mess.
first you have to make a simple syrup out of sugar and water. steam the water until its like boiling hot and slowly add in sugar until its syrup consistency. then you find the mint. (where the hell is the mint? do we even have mint? oh damn, its right here.)pluck off about 5-7 mint leaves add the simple syrup and muddle it (grind it like in the commercial) add rum ad a squeeze of lemon and lime add sprite and soda and a little sour mix. now the glass is full but you have to get all of the mint off the bottom so you have to shake it up a bunch. so now lets see... we have 2 dirty glasses from the simple syrup debocle dirty muddling tool dirty shaker sticky ass sugar mess all over rinds from several fruit and we have now made a complete and utter mess. wouldnt it be sooo much easier to just say jack and coke? |
