I'm going to be SO pissed if the Sox really are only in this to make the Yanks give up more than they need to, even though baseball insider Seth Everett on SNY doesn't think so, but I can see it. I don't even want to do this trade anymore, I want to keep all our guys. It's just too much for him. The thought of giving up Hughes honestly makes me sick. And fucking Hank needs to shut the FUCK up and butt out. I'm so sick of this guy it's not even funny. I didn't think there could be anyone worse than George but holy crap his dumb ass son takes the cake. I feel like screaming.

Beyond losing Hughes or even Melky, I'm more worried that he's losing his power again.

He came out not long ago and said they weren't trading any of the young pitchers, now this? I'm really sick of this guy and I feel like he's going to ruin this team and all the progress they've made with the farm system. I already have an owner of one of my teams that I hate, I don't want to add another. Although he's looking like the jackass that Jim Dolan is and he's only been in charge for a couple of months.

Especially since the Yankee tax is pretty damn clear and we weren't treated fairly in what was requested from us (Hughes/Melky/Horne/Jackson) and what they may be getting from Boston.

Not that I'm complaining, even though it will 1000% suck for Johan to be a Red Sox, but I'm almost insulted for Phil. Bill Smith is a worse GM than Hank is a mute if he really thinks Lester is on any level better than he is.

It was Ellsbury and a couple others guys whose names I don't remember. If that trade went through, it would probably wind up being the most uneven trade ever.

According to a high-level baseball official familiar with the discussions, the Yankees informed the Twins that they would not continue the talks for Santana - despite the Boston Red Sox' looming presence. source Heyman's having himself a good time on WFAN right now, going on about how all the other GMs/execs think the Twins are insane for not taking the Hughes' package.
