Anyone read the series by Stephenie Meyer? I just got done with Twilight about an hour ago. I loved it. I'm buying New Moon and Eclipse as soon as I can.
What did you all think of it?

I loved it! I read New Moon and Eclipse right afterwards, all of them read in the course of 10 hours

I'm 182 pages into Twilight and stuck at work but I want to be reading. I don't like Bella though. I think she's whiny and complains too much.
She's got a big ol' chip on her shoulder and I don't understand her or identify with her at all. I'm hoping that changes, but I keep finding
myself feeling like Edward could do better... granted I'm not far enough into the story to make these judgments, that's where I'm at now.

She does whine a lot. She can get very annoying... especially at the end of Eclipse... I was so angry with her. But i won't spoil it for you. I think
she's supposed to be like a typical, angst-ridden teenager. My boyfriend is reading the story and he thinks shes mean. *shrugs* I do love her with Edward
though.

Bella grows on you...I got more ticked with her in the second and third books. Then I was basically banging my head against a wall. I'm really not liking
her, but I'm curious to see how her story ends...
I guess I just don't understand her at all--especially after New Moon and Eclipse. So yesterday at noon I was on pg 182. Today at noon, I was finished. I loved how the story was written, obviously or I would have been able to put it down.
I'm excited to read the next book, but I'm convinced I won't ever like Bella. I like that she is emotional and caring. But I dislike that she doesn't seem funny or witty or confident or anything resembling a good personality. However, Edward is dreamy. I always picture Angel (from Buffy) in that he's a tortured hero too... not to mention, also a vampire. |
