Amid much fan criticism, Jen Lilley (The Artist) has been filling the role of Maxie Jones since Storms’ longer-than-originally-anticipated hiatus.

This whole Mob Princess stuff is idiotic. I get that they are making it more soapy....which is fine. But, back in the day they did a nice mixture of "real-life drama" & soapy. I'd like to see stuff that brings out emotion. Real loves, angst, real betrayal, chemistry! These characters/actors just seem like they are going through the motions. Every time they have chance for a great character...they blow it! Also, what the hell with Luke and Anna?!? Seriously? I get they need to give her a story line...but,

I say if Kristen Storms is less annoying and screechy as Maxie, PLEASE BRING HER BACK and if that's the case, idk how anyone could actually PREFER Jen Lilley. He knew Sonny was planning to kill Dante, but he didn't even warn Lulu who was supposed to be his friend. That turned me off of that character completely.

Jason and Sonny always needed to be more controversial, so I like that they're going there. Spinelli always needed to grow up and he's finally done that. That's one thing I never missed about Guza's writing...the characters never developed or changed or learned from their mistakes. It drove me crazy. As for Maxie. I really like Jen. But she's not Kirsten Storms, who is a very, very, very good actor. I'd love for Jen to come back some day as a different character, but every time Jen's given a good emotional scene, she does a decent job, but I always think that Kirsten would have killed it. And her chemistry with Spinelli is far better than Jen's.

I recently started recording it daily because I will be on Mat leave soon and it gives me something to watch when Hubby isn't home. That being said: What happened to Elizabeth's kid? He died? The Mob Princess stuff is stupid and this new guy is way too annoying. Why do they keep killing of Sam's kids? CAN HEATHER WEBBER PLEASE DIE AND GO AWAY, she is the worst part of the show. Tracy is annoying...still. How did Robin die? Why does Heather keep calling her son Stephen Lars..it's really annoying. That's all lol. I kind of miss the lack of soap opera-ness the show used to have.

Robin didn't die, but everyone thinks she died in an explosion in the hospital lab. I couldn't possibly disagree more about Heather. She's the most entertaining part of the show IMO. She's gorgeous but she couldn't act her way out of a bag right now. Or maybe it's the edit? She just doesn't mesh well at all at the moment. Worse than anyone I've seen in a long time. And please let the rumors about Kirsten trying to get back be true. Jen is great but every time she does something well I think about how much better KS would have been and it makes me feel guilty.
