I agree. Or else one day JJB is gonna get shut down because of it or something. The post count suggestion was okay, not sure what a good number would be.

Yvonne please make MC MBA plus having a certain number of posts to be allowed.

Oh, and can we do something about the Request a Song threads that are locked...like delete them or something?

I agree. I think there should be a post count you have to reach to be able to post in there. Maybe 1000? I'm not sure if you guys can alter the settings to
be able to do that, but if you can I think you should.

I think there should be at least a minimum requirement of 2500 posts to access MC or be here at least two years.
Yes it's strict, but I don't want to get in trouble just because some newbs want music. |

If you guys are afraid of JJB shutting down, MBA and increasing post counts to enter MC won't guarantee that from happening. OiNK required invites to even
enter the site, after all.
Removing it altogether would solve the issue, if there is one. Though I don't think JJB will ever be shut down because of MC. Similar to when we had the legal issues with OP and that forum was temporarily shut down, is what would happen with MC...it will down until something changes. Not the entire JJB, because JJB isn't dedicated to sharing music - MC is. |

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I just want the few songs I uploaded gone, I guess.

Yeah but for OiNK, you could easily send invites to anybody. It wasn't like you had to send somebody an invite, and have them do specific things to gain
access.

It's not realistic that the IFPI, BPI and all other anti-piracy organizations will be stopped by a post count and MBA. A lot of times these organizations
are backed by big time bands and/or artists (in OiNK's case it was Interpol) and trust, they know how to find their way. It's not hard.
I get'cha cheriestars. If it eases you any, you have to have uploaded music in the TB amounts to possibly get in serious legal troubles (It's why I'm not worried about being an active OiNK member |

TB amounts?
I'm not so much concerned about myself as I am my dad...he works for Sony...I don't want him toget in trouble because of me. |

Terabytes. 1000 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte. I guess to put it in perspective, the last time I checked the top 10 in OiNK the #1 uploader had about 90TB to their
name. That's A LOT. You really have nada to worry about.

^^ then if you downloaded anything then that is YOUR proplem, and you should of thought of that before doing so
|
|||
Tristessie |

^You need to calm it. Downloading in JJB is not even an issue, there's no possible way to know who downloads those sendspace/megaupload links. And posting
links don't get anyone into trouble anyway. The worse scenario for JJB is a C/D letter and the removal of MC. That's it.

I've seen other boards get shut down because of the same crap as Media Central. No one was uploading into the TBs. I don't know if the admin there just
got scared and shut everything down or what, but they went away nonetheless. Better safe than sorry.

I can see an entire board being shut if they had various C/D letter warnings.. or was that board primary to sharing and secondary to everything else? Oh and I
only meant that one is at risk for legal trouble if it can be proven that a person has uploaded in the TB range, not that a board has to have uploaded that
much to be shut.
And God no, I'm no lawyer ImKelly is right, it is better
to be safe.

Didn't the board almost get shut down a while ago because we were posting pictures from Wireimage in OP? If we can get shut down for that we can sure as
hell get shut down for stealing music.

something needs to be done. but none of the mods seem to listen to anything either. It's gotten out of hand w/ the amount of things that are requested.
but what can be done? once you opened that can of worms, you can' t exactly close it. Even if MC was only allowed to have FAQ's/questions about technical things there would end up w/ posts about "can i get this song or album" and even if that forum were to go completely, there would be all those posts in GD. |
|||

And I think we should only have a few pages worth of stuff there. We have the megaposts, so any albums or songs that need to be found can easily be
located since those posts are constantly bumped. Also, any FAQ threads can be bumped or stickied.
ImKelly is right, it is better
to be safe.
