Chapter 8 Ordinary People Present "Here's your refill." Ashley-the young waitress said to Nicole as she placed the full glass of orange juice on the table. Nicole glanced away from the window. "Oh. Thanks." smiling. Ashley gave a small smile. "Your welcome." she cleared her throat, glancing at the empty booth opposite of Nicole. "Do you need…anything else?" Nicole pretended she didn't notice the young girl's reaction to the fact that she was now sitting alone. Shaking her slightly, she respond. "I'm good for right now. Thank you." The waitress nodded slightly. She looked at Nicole, then glanced over the empty booth again. Licking her lips nervously, she asked. "Um…is he done?" It was obvious, she had been debating with herself whether or not to mention anything about who was sitting with Nicole. Nicole wrinkled her nose, pretending the question did not phase her. "I don't think so. He had to make a phone call." Ashley eyes lit up once again when it became clear that he was still in the diner. "Do you think he would like a refill of his coffee?" she asked Nicole. She was stalling. Nicole could only smile. It never got old. Nicole gave a glance to Justin's empty cup. She was sure he wouldn't want any more refills. But Ashley did not have to know that. Instead Nicole replied. "Uh…I don't know." shrugging innocently. If it was possible the young waitress eyes lit up even more. "Oh. Then um…I'll come back when he's done with his phone call, and ask him." she said eagerly. Nicole smiled back up at her. "Okay." "Okay." Ashley said. After a few moments Nicole expected Ashley to go take care of another table, but she still stood there. Nicole tilted her head slightly. "Is something wrong?" Glancing back at Ashley with a concern look. For the first time really seeing the young woman in front of her. She looked to be sixteen-seventeen at the oldest and she had that look of complete innocence and curiosity in her eyes, plus a look of adoration that was reserved for one person and one person only… It reminded Nicole of when she was younger. Ironic, the look of adoration Ashley had in her eyes was for the same person, Nicole once had adored in the same way…. Blinking back to the present, Nicole repeated. "Is something wrong?" Ashley ran her fingers nervously through her hair, before leaning in a bit. "Can I ask you something?" "Sure." "I'm not trying to be nosy or anything. I'm just curious…" pausing for a moment. Nicole already knew where the conversation was going. Ashley gave a nervous laugh before continuing. "Is that…you know…him." emphasizing the word him. "I mean if its not, they do look a lot alike. I mean a lot." Nicole narrowed her eyes when she saw Justin standing a few feet behind Ashley. He hadn't spoken yet, but Nicole knew what was coming next. And before she had the chance to say a word , she saw Ashley's eyes widen and saw her face flush as Justin spoke. It wasn't the first time, he had done this. "You know, I get that a lot." he said into her ear. Ashley jumped and turned around, standing face to face with Justin. "We do look a lot alike." he stated, sliding back into his side of the booth a grin on his face. "But I heard he's a real asshole." he finished. "I've heard that too." Nicole muttered, glaring over at her best friend. Justin raised an eyebrow over at her and smirked as he took a bite of his toast. "Are you sure?" Ashley blurted out, obviously not convinced. Then blushing even more. "I' am sure he's a real asshole?" Ashley smiled weakly. "Not that-" Justin nodded reassuringly and stopped her. "You know what they say-everyone has a twin. And I guess Justin Timberlake is mine." He coughed , when he felt Nicole's foot on his toes. "You okay?" Ashley asked in concern voice. Justin only nodded, giving Nicole a look. "Let me bring you another cup of coffee." she offered. Whether or not she believed it wad Justin Timberlake or not, Nicole knew she was smitten with him. It was amazing how he could do that without even trying. Justin shook his head. "Actually a glass of water would be fine." he said to her. "Sure." "Thanks." Justin said, mustering a small smile. Once they were alone again, Nicole leaned in and whispered. "Not only is he an asshole, but a jerk, a dick, and a bastard." she spat out, still glaring. "That was mean J." Justin rolled his eyes. "What? Its not hurting anyone." he defended. "Did you not see the way she was looking at you?" "What way? The way everyone and their mothers look at me?" he said dryly. "It's not going to hurt her. When we leave, I don't care if she tells everyone it is me. But right now, there's no attention focus on us." "On you." she corrected. He sighed. "Right. On me." he paused. "Do you see anyone outside that window pointing a damn camera through the window?" he asked. He didn't wait for her to answer. "I get that it come with what I do, but sometimes its nice to go out and have lunch or brunch and not worry that its interrupting mine or anyone else's private time." She leaned back against the booth. "Its still a lame excuse." "Fine." he started. "If it makes you feel any better I'll tell her its really me when she gets back with my water." "Then she'll really think you're an asshole." she said with a frown. Justin tossed his head back and laughed. "Well shit, apparently you already think that I' am. Oh, and a jerk and a dick. What was the last one-?" "A bastard." she offered, a small smile tugging on her lips. Justin nodded. Good. She wasn't that mad at him. "Right. And a bastard." he said in a serious voice. "So having a total stranger think that I'm an asshole is nothing." He then kicked her playfully underneath the table. "C'mon Nic. Chill out. I need to have my funs and giggles too." he joked lamely. She only shook her head and let out a sigh, but couldn't help but smile. Okay, so it wasn't such a big deal. Justin leaned in, reaching for her glass of orange juice. "I'll leave her a big tip." he stated, taking a gulp of her orange juice. Nicole snorted. "Right. That wont give away that its really you." she said sarcastically. "And can I have my glass back?" He took another sip before handing it back to her. "Here. But it's the least you could do for stepping on my toes and almost making me choke on my toast." he said in a hurt voice. She raised her eyebrow at him, as she place the glass to her lips and stated. "You deserved it." "Yeah. Yeah." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Five and half years earlier… Fuck. Why was it so damn bright? He opened one eye first. He cursed in head again. He grunted. What time was it? And where the hell was he? Because it sure didn't feel like he was sleeping in his warm bed. After a few seconds of debating with himself on whether to fully open his eyes, he did. Okay, so he was laying on a couch… He grunted again. "Too bright. Too fucking bright." placing one arm over his eyes. He heard Trace's familiar voice over him. "Good. I thought you were dead or something." a tone of amusement in his voice. Justin moved his arm away and focused his eyes on Trace, who stood above him, looking down at him with a smirk. "What time is it?" Ignoring Trace's comment. "Two in the afternoon." Trace replied. Justin sat up. "Fuck." was all he said. "Yeah fucker. You passed out." Trace responded, reading his mind, and making his way to the kitchen. It was obvious he wasn't in his home. Or his mother's. "We went out last night?" he said out loud, more to himself than to Trace. Trace laughed from the kitchen. "You don't remember?" Sadly, he didn't. Shit, he was still trying to figure out who's house he was at. Because it sure hell wasn't his. He glanced around for a few moments. It looked familiar… Pharrell! He was sitting in Pharrell's couch, in Virginia. And as quickly as that, everything came rushing back to him. He was in Virginia working on some material for his solo project. He had been there for a few days now, with Trace and Nicole… Without thinking twice, he blurted out. "Where's Nic?" glancing over at Trace from the couch. Trace's back was to him, looking through the open fridge, but he turned around at Justin's question, his tone changing completely. "Upstairs." Narrowing his eyes over at him. After a few moments, Trace spoke up again. "You really don't remember anything from last night?" "Should I?" he asked, getting up from the couch and making his way toward the kitchen. He shut his eyes for a split second, feeling an ache on the side of his jaw and cheek. What the hell did he do last night? Rubbing the side of his cheek with the back of his hand. Trace shut the fridge after grabbing a bottle of water and leaning against the counter. "If I were you- I would start trying to remember." the smirk back on his face. Justin opened and shut his jaw a few times. Damn, it ached. "Why?" he asked Trace. "You really have no fucking clue do you?" Justin glared over at his best friend. "No, Trace. I really don't have a fucking clue." He paused. "I remember leaving the studio and picking up Nic and meeting a few other people, and heading out to that club…" he trailed off, as he opened the fridge door. "I remember ordering a shit load of alcohol." He reached for a bottle of water and turned back to Trace. "After that, everything is fucking blur." He rubbed his cheek again. "Why the fuck is my cheek hurting so much?" he mumbled to himself. Trace snorted back is laughter. Justin quickly looked over at him. "What?" Trace shook his head and smiled knowingly at him. "You don't remember getting slapped last night?" "What?!" Justin exclaimed. "Slapped?" Hoping he had heard Trace wrong. "What the hell for? And by who?!" Opening the top of his bottled water. "Wait-Tiny would not have allowed anyone-" "Oh trust me, not even Tiny could have stopped the shit you did last night." Trace interrupted him. Justin looked at Trace with confusion in his eyes. "What?" he took a big gulp of water. "C'mon Trace, hell half of the time I cant even take a piss without someone there, so how the fuck did someone slap me?" Trace shrugged. "Dude, it happen. It was a bitch slap too. And usually I would have come to your defense, but you deserved it last night, whether you were toasted or not." Damn it, now he was getting frustrated. He couldn't remember anything. He knew he could be an asshole when he had too much, but shit, there was always someone there to stop him if necessary. And there had to be a reason right? He couldn't just gotten slap just for the hell of it. All of a sudden none of that matter. He shut his eyes and let out a groan. Nicole. Nicole had seen him that way last night. Usually if he was out with her, and got drunk he remembered his actions, but he never, ever gotten drunk around her and then couldn't remember the night before. Fuck. Suddenly finding out who had slapped him, seemed less important at the moment. "Where's Nicky?" he asked Trace again. He had to talk to her. Trace's face turned serious again. "I told you. Upstairs." "Ok, I need to go talk to her." Justin informed Trace. Trace only raised his eyebrow at him. "I've never gotten that drunk around her…and I just… need talk to her." he finished. He looked wide eyed at Trace. "Fuck, did I say or do something to her, that I need to apologize for?" he asked. Trace glanced over Justin's shoulder, his eyes landing on Nicole, who stood a few feet away. He glanced back at Justin. "I-uh…I think you should ask her. I'm going to take a shower." He wasn't getting involve. Walking past Justin and giving him a good luck slap on the back. Justin turned around, and was face to face with Nicole. She stood a few feet away, hair up, and in a simple pink baby-tee, with a pair of jeans, that fit her perfectly, from where he stood. Her face showed no emotion. Great, looking at her, just made him feel even crappier. She locked eyes with him for a second, then seemed to blink back to reality before taking a step in his direction. But instead of stopping once she reached him like he hoped she would, she walked past him. He cursed at himself. It was obvious she was mad at him. Now he just had to figure out what he had done, to piss her off. He watched her open the fridge and take out the gallon of milk, and placed it on the counter. "Okay, think Justin." he told himself. He couldn't stand having her mad at him. Even if he was sure he deserved it. He opened his mouth not sure where to even start. After a few more seconds of debating. He finally spoke. "Nicky-" he stopped himself. She looked up him, but didn't say a word. Instead she turned her back on him and grabbed a clean glass from the sink, then turned back around and poured herself a glass of milk. Still, ignoring him. Now he was getting frustrated. "If you wont talk to me how I am supposed to fix what I did?" he asked. Nicole had put the lid back on the gallon of milk and slammed it on the counter, glaring at him. "Excuse me?!" she exclaimed, speaking for the first time. Good, at least she was talking to him now. "You're the one that fucks up and I'm the one that needs to tell you why!?" "I don't remember! Damn it! Don't you think its killing me?" he said, making his way to her and standing face to face with her. "Oh, I'm sorry." she said dryly. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with anger and hurt. "But maybe if you hadn't gotten completely wasted and high you would remember!" she yelled, pushing past him. Justin was too fast for her, and took a hold of her elbow, pulling her back to him. She struggled. But Justin was stronger. High? He got high around her? For what seemed the thousand time since he woke up, he cursed at himself. He had never gotten high around her. Ever. It was something he didn't like to do. He had fucked up. Big time. "Let go of my fucking arm!" she demanded, struggling to let herself free from his grip. "I'm serious Justin." she told him. "Or what?" he spat out. "Or you'll get slap again." Nicole stated in a cool tone, her eyes locking with his. "Only this time you'll remember it." All of a sudden it came back to him. She was the one who slapped him. Nicole. That's why no one, not even Tiny had bother to stop it. He let go of her elbow. His anger boiling over. "You slapped me?" he asked her, trying to stay in control. "Yes." she stated, standing her ground. He took in a deep breath. He didn't get angry often, especially at her. He clinched his jaw. "What the fuck did I do to get slapped?" he demanded. "I think I have a right to know what the fuck I did Nicole!" "Now you care?" she spat back. "Because you sure as hell didn't care about anything last night Justin. Not about yourself. And not about me." whispering the last part. The anger Justin had, suddenly seemed to disappear. He didn't need know the details of the night before to realize he had hurt her somehow. But he needed to know. Taking in a deep breath, he asked her in a calmer voice. "Tell me what I did. Tell me what I need to do to fix it." She shook her head. "What's the point?" "You slapped me for a reason. I want to know what it was." he repeated. She didn't say a word. "Look, Nicky, I know I messed up. Fucked up. I guess, I just needed to let out some steam after being in the studio all day-" Nicole shook her head. "Its not even about that J." sounding a lot more calmer as well. "Its not like I didn't know. You know I don't care about that-" she paused, blinking back her tears. "One moment we were fine. And the next…you were hitting on this girl…in front of me." she swallowed her tears. "And I know I shouldn't care. Because we aren't-" she stopped herself. "I guess it just pissed me off that you were doing it in front of me." "So you decided to just slap me?" he asked, trying to hide the amusement in his voice. So she had gotten jealous? "It was more than that…you were all over her." she stated, glaring up at him. "It just pissed me off because of what you had said-" she bit her lower lip. "So yes. Yes. I was pissed and jealous." "So you slapped me?" he repeated with a raised eyebrow and rubbing his cheek again. "You pissed me off. You were saying these mean…things, even after I told you." Nicole stated. She looked curiously up at him. "You don't remember anything, do you?" He shook his head no. He looked into her eyes and asked in a whisper. "I made you cry didn't I?" Licking his lips nervously. Nicole only gave him a look. The look she gave was enough answer for him. "Nicky-" he started, taking a step closer to her. Dear god. How was he going to fix this? Especially when he didn't remember any of it? He opened his mouth again to speak, but before he had a chance to speak a word, he heard Pharrells' voice. "Hey, there you are." Oblivious to the fact that Justin and Nicole were in the middle of a conversation. "What the hell are you waiting for? I thought we were headed back into the studio?" he asked. He smiled when he saw Nicole, walking over to her, and kissing her on the cheek. "Did you sleep well?" Nicole gave him a forced smile. "Yea. Thanks again for letting us stay here last night." she glanced back at Justin. "I'm going to go and get ready. Rach, should be arriving later on today and Tiny said he would drive me to the airport to pick her up." And without saying another word, walked out of the kitchen, disappearing up the stairs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Justin sat on the couch in the studio, his mind else where. Usually, when he was in the studio all his mind could focus was on his music. But not today. Today, all he could think of was Nicole. He blinked back to reality when he felt Trace sit himself down next to him. "What's the hell is wrong?" Trace asked, giving Justin a raised eyebrow. Justin shook his head and answered. "Nothing." Trace frowned. "Bull shit." he paused a split second. "I'm guessing you didn't work things out with Nic?" Justin laid his head back on the couch, shut his eyes and said with a sigh. "I fucked up. I know I did. I just wish I could remember." He opened his eyes, and locked them with Trace. "I made her cry Trace." Trace tone and face turned serious. "I know. I was there." Justin winced at his friend tone. "I fucked it up bad didn't I?" he asked. Trace gave him a raised eyebrow. Yep, he had fucked up. Big time. Letting out a sigh, he asked said. "I need to know what I did." Trace gave him a look and replied. "Nic, didn't tell you?" Justin shook his head. "We got interrupted. And besides I have a feeling she wouldn't tell me anyway." he paused. "I need to fix it Trace." looking over at his oldest friend. "It's Nicole." Trace shut his eyes for a second then let out a sigh. "So I'm guessing you want me to tell you?" Justin only gave him a look. Trace rolled his eyes. "You do realize she made me promise her I wouldn't tell you anything?" he paused. "But fuck it. I think you have a right to know how much of an ass you were last night to her." Justin frowned. "Thanks, Trace." "Just so you know, she did defend you at first." Trace stated. Justin gave him a confused look. Trace gave a small nod. Justin blinked. "What?" "Dude, one moment you were with her the next moment, you were all over this other girl. I don't mean just talking J. All over her. Which any other night I would have been egging you on, but Nicole was there. And I know its none of my business, but I care for her too." "I know you do." Justin said. "Don't you think I do?" "No, I know you do J. Which is what I don't understand about you two. About last night. Shit, I know you fucking love her, and she loves you-" he let out a sigh. "And she kept saying it wasn't a big deal, until you came back to her, and pretended like you hadn't been all over the other girl. And then you tried being all over her. That's what pissed her off. So she called you on it." he let out a laugh. "At first I knew better than to get involve…but then you just got mean, and loud in front of everyone J. And she kept telling me to not worry or get involve. You were just drunk. But you didn't seem to care. Fuck, that just seemed to piss you off even more." "Fuck. Fuck." he stated in anger, resting his head back against the couch. "I have to fix it man." he said more to himself than to Trace. "Then fix it." Trace stated. "Look, I don't want to get involve. But maybe this is what you needed. Maybe now you two can finally get past the drama and just fucking admit your in love with each other." a knowing smirk on his face.

Chapter 10 The Not So Jealous Girlfriend 2002 Justin's head rested on the pillows the next morning, wide awake as he thumbed through his two-way checking his messages. Four from his friend Nick back home, one from Johnny, three from JC, another one from Johnny, his mom, and his dad, another one from Johnny. He chuckled to himself, shit, there was a lot from Johnny, but Justin wasn't surprise. He continued to thumb through the messages, another one from his mom- just wanting to make sure he was doing okay in Virginia…another one from Johnny. Justin only rolled his eyes , not bothering to read it as he continuing to scroll through his two- way. "Johnny, Johnny, Johnny." he mumbled to himself, He stopped scrolling when he came to the last three message on his two-way. "Hey, just wanted to see how you were doing. You havent return my calls…I miss you-Britney." He didn't need to read the other two, he knew they said the same thing. God dammit. Why did she have to do shit like that? Why couldn't she just leave it alone? He was trying to move on. No. He wanted to move on. Without her. She had fucked with him in a way he never thought it was possible. Fucked up everything he ever thought about relationships. Because he had loved her. He had been in love with her. And he had thought she was the one. Fuck, he had. He thought she was the one he was going to marry. Now he knew he had been wrong and stupid. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear Nicole close the bathroom door behind her. "Do you think you'll be in the studio for most of the day? Because I was thinking that if you weren't, then we could meet up for a late lunch or something." she made her way back to the bed, and glanced down at him. "Justin? Are you listening?" giving him a curious look. "Are you okay?" she asked, crawling back under the covers. Justin glanced away long enough from his two-way to look at her. And then there was her. The one that always seem to be around when he was at his worse. The one that he adored more than anything. It went beyond love with Nicole. It was something that he couldn't seem to explain or undertand himself. It just was. So at the end, maybe it was a good that things had ended with Britney. Maybe, just maybe the One was laying next to him in bed. Without letting go of his two-way, he bend his head down and locked lips with Nicole. Hoping that, by just kissing her, he would know what to do. After a few minutes, Nicole broke away from his lips, licking her lips and catching her breath, she asked. "What was that for?" Everytime, every time he kissed her, it was those same damn butterflies. Pressing his forehead against he whispered. "Damn Nicky…every time" Okay, so maybe kissing her wasn't going to give him all the answers he wanted. Nicole blinked. "What? You're the one that kissed me-" Justin chuckled and gave her a slight nod. "Your the one only that has ever gave me those damn butterflies…" he admitted sheepishly. Nicole couldn't help but giggle. "Butterflies? You can be so cheesy sometimes. I mean really-" But instead of finishing her sentence, she let out a whimper as his lips covered hers once again. The kiss deepened quickly as Justin pressed her back against the mattress, the two-way still in his hand. After what seemed a lifetime, he broke away, placing a strand of loose hair behind her ear, looking down at her. "Chessy as it sounds-it's the truth." Sh grinned up at him. "Its cheesy." she agreed "But I guess…in a way also cute." she teased. Justin smirked. "I knew one day you would admit I was cute." Nicole tossed her head back and laughed. "And your also a cocky bastard." "No shit?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "Yea, no shit. Cocky as they come." Nicole stated. She reached out with one hand and placed her palm on the cheek she had slapped two nights before. "How is your cheek anyway?" she asked smugly. It was Justin's turn to toss his head back, laughing. "Ooh… was that supposed to be a shot?" She blinked innocently. "What? I'm just concern that's all." "Bull shit." he stated, placing his two-way on the dresser, then quickly straddled her. Forgetting about Britney's messages. "How's that bull shit?" she asked him. "I was just wondering-" she abruptly stopped, and instead giggled as Justin tickled her sides. "J!! Stop! Oh my god. You know I hate being tickled." Struggling to get away from his grip. "Please stop!" she pleaded, laughing in the process. "Holy shit!" she exclaimed. She continued to shift underneath him, trying to break free from his grip. He was strong, but she was quick, before he knew what was going on, she took a hold of both of his wrists. "J-stop!" she said out of breath. Trying to her best to keep her grip on his wrist. "You know I hate it when you do that!" Justin grinned down at her. "I know, that's why I did it." She stuck her tongue out at him. "How old are you again?" he asked mockingly, quickly breaking free from her grip, and turning straight around and takng a hold of her wrists, placing them over her head. "Justin!!" she whined. "Are you going to be a good girl?" he asked in a teasing voice. She glared and moved underneath him again. "You're the one that started it! Let go." she demanded. "Only if you promise to be a good girl." Justin asked, with a raised eyebrow. Nicole licked her lips and said in an innocent voice. "Hmm..I thought you liked it when I was a bad girl…" His grip on her wrists, tighten. He smirked down at her. "I do like it." he paused. "But nice try." He loved it when they played these kind of games. "Then let me go and I can show you how bad of a girl I can be." she said in a pouty voice. Damn, she was sexy. Even in the morning, even in his t-shirt, even though she had bed hair. Sexy as hell. And she was his-at least for the time being, she was his. Damn, why couldn't she be his for good? Why couldn't she see that maybe he was the one she needed. The one that would protect her, and love her. Why did she have to be so damn difficult? Yes, Britney had fucked with what he thought was supposed to be a relationship, but somehow and some way, whenever he was with Nicole, that didn't matter. All that matter was that he wanted to be with her. Why were things so complicated? Why couldn't things be simple? "J-let go." she said in a strained voice, bringing him back the present. "My wrists are beginning to hurt." Justin glanced back down at her, a doubtful look in his eyes. He knew her, and knew well enough that she was just bull shitting, as soon as he let her go, she would pounce on him somehow. He raised one eyebrow at her. "Justin…" she whined. "Im serious! Please let go." looking up at him with innocent eyes. "It hurts." she cried, a small pout forming on her sexy little lips. "Your going to be good?" he asked, with a light smirk, feeling those butterflies again. Here they were again, acting like any normal couple, but yet, they weren't a couple. "Nicole?" She rolled her eyes and let out a sigh. "Yes. Now let go. It hurts." she repeated. Justin rolled his eyes back at her. "Now I know that's a bunch of shit, but I'm going to let you go." But before he let go of her wrists, he leaned in again. "But first, kiss me." he demanded a hint of amusement in his voice. She wrinkled her nose at him. "Let go and I will." she shot back. He smirked down at her. "Kiss me first and I will." She gave him a look, and nonachantly said. "We can do this all day. You're the one that needs to head out to the studio not me." smiling sweetly at him. Justin leaned in closer, his nose pressed against hers, his breath tickling her cheek. "Ask me to stay and I will." he challenged in a serious tone. She gave him a frown. Justin shook his head slightly. "Im not kidding Nicky. Ask me to stay here with you all day and I will." All of a sudden the idea of spending the day in bed with her sounded perfect. He would give up going to the studio to be with her all day. He would give up just about everything to truly have her. "Justin-" she started, licking her lips. Knowing, there was more to his demand than he was saying. Now was his chance to tell her everything he was feeling. He had the opportunity to do so, he had the guts to do it, right at that moment. "I'm serious Nicole." She swallowed and locked eyes with his and said in a whisper. "I thought we talked about this?" He kissed one of her cheeks, then the side of her mouth. "I know, I know-" "I don't understand why now." she stated, sitting up as Justin freed her wrists. "Help me understand why now J. We had an understanding. You made your choice remember?" "We were only teenagers Nicole! You were fifteen. Fifteen!" he exclaimed. "And I…fucked up. I know. I was stupid." he paused. "Is that the real reason? " He asked her. "Because if it is-" She leanded in closer to him. "No. That's not the reason. And your right, we were teenagers, and we had our chance, and it just wasn't right. So why even bother again?" "What I don't understand is why your so scared. You've never been the type of person to be scared of anything." he asked her frustrated. "Im not scared." she defended herself. She licked her lips nervously. "I…just know better than to go there again, that's all." Justin nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "Even though somehow we always end up naked together." Nicole let out a frustrated groan as she slipped back into bed, letting her head land on the pillow. "Why do you have to be so stubborn?" she muttered. "Me? No, that's you. You're the one being stubborn." he paused. "And besides its part of my charm." looking down at her with a smile. Tryng to lighten up the conversation. Nicole snorted as she gave him a roll of her eyes. "Please." Justin just continued to smile as he leaned back down and covered her mouth with his. A gurgled sound left his throat, as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him even closer to her. His hands roamed up from her hips, to her face.
Nicole broke from his mouth and whispered. "You should probably get up and get ready." she blinked and bit on her lower lip. "Pharrell is probably already there, wondering where you are at." Justin cupped her face with one hand, tilting her face closer to his once again. "I don't get it." he stated. "We act like any other couple. I take care of you don't I?" A hurt look in his eyes. She reached out and placed her hand over the one hand that was cupping her face. "Justin." letting out a shaky breath. "I take care of you don't I?" he repeated. "Yes." she said simply, not able to look at him in the eye. "Then make me understand Nicky." the look of hurt, confusion and frustrution set in his eyes. "Because if you haven't notice I can't just make what I feel for you dissapear." he paused. "Its never been the easiest thing for me to do. Because damn it, I've fucking tried." Kissing her again. Nicole let out a small hiccup, as he broke away. "I've fucking tried…" pressing his foreahead against hers. Nicole swallowed back her tears. Why couldn't he just understand that it wasn't so easy? Why couldn't he just see that it was better if they didn't go there? And why couldn't she just bring herself to cut herself from him? From his hugs, from his touches, from his kisses… "Let me try." he said in a barely there whisper. "Let me try again." Brushing his lips over hers again. And here they were, doing it again. "Justin…" she whispered again. Wanting to so bad to say yes. Before she had the chance to say another word, Justin's two-way beeped. She glanced over at the dresser where his two-way laid. "It's probably Pharrell." she guessed, reaching for it, as it beeped again with another message. "Don't try and change the subject." Justin accused with a light frown. Nicole gave him a wrinkle of her nose. "I' am not trying to…" she stopped when she read the name that blinked on the two-way. She licked her lips and looked up at him. "I guess they aren't from Pharrell…" handing him the two-way and pushing him off her as she got up from the bed. He let out a small "oomph" sound as he rolled onto his back and laid back down, his head landing on the pillows. He glanced at the two-way and let out a sigh, when he realize why she had pushed herself away from him. "C'mon Nicky-" sitting back up and gently tossing the two-way next to him. "What?" she asked not looking at him, and bending down to search through her open suitcase which sat at the end of the bed. Justin crawled closer to the edge of the bed. "Don't do that okay?" "Do what?" she asked, grabbing a towel, a pair of panties and bra from the suitcase. "This." he stated. "I haven't even talk to her. She's the one that keeps sending me messages-" he tried to explain. She looked up at him and gave him a small shrug. "You don't have to explain anything to me." "No?" Justin asked in an irritated tone. "Its obviously bothering you that she's contacting me-" reaching out for her hand again.
Nicole was too quick that time, and took a step back. "I just don't want her to hurt you again-" she replied defensively. "Don't worry about that. Your doing well on your own." he muttered bitterly. Nicole looked at him, and gave him a pained look as he said that. Justin cursed at himself. "I'm sorry I didn't mean that." Trying to get a hold of her hand again but she moved her hand away from him. "I'm going to go take a shower." she informed him. Not bothering to make a comment on what he had just said. "Don't worry about lunch-" That time he didn't miss, and he took a hold of her wrist, pulling her toward him. "She's not going to hurt me okay? Because I'm trying to get her out my life." "I told you, you don't have to explain anything to me." she told him, looking anywhere but at him. "Can I go take my shower now?" she asked. Justin couldn't help but chuckle. She was crazy. Completely and utterly crazy…but here he was. "Let me get this straight." he started, cupping her face with one hand, so that she looked at him. "I don't have to explain myself to you, but yet- you get pissy because my ex-girlfriend contacted me? I don't have to explain myself, but I get bitched slapped for hitting on other girls in front of you?" he paused for a second then asked. "To me that consist of a girl acting like a jealous girlfriend." She glared at him. "No, you got slapped for acting like a total jerk." she corrected. "And just because you piss me off it doesn't automatically make me a girlfriend!" she exclaimed. "You don't want to be my girlfriend?" he asked in an amused tone. She frowned at him. "I don't get it, any other guy would kill for what you have." "Oh? And what is that?" "Being able to get off and not have to worry about the girl getting clingy-" Justin snorted. "What was that for?" she demanded. "Are you saying I'm clingy? Because if you haven't notice you're the one that wants more out of this-" "I do. I'm not going to deny it Nicole." he tighten his grip on her and pulling her even closer to him."What I don't understand is why you keep denying that you don't want the same thing." With her free hand, she undid his fingers from her wrist. "Because I don't." she told him firmly. "We have an arrangment." taking a step back from him as she freed herself from his grip. "I've already appologize for slapping you, I had to no right." licking her lips nervously. "And if you want to talk to your ex-girlfriend that's fine with me. I don't owe you. Your not mine." Giving him a quick look as she made her way to the bathroom, and left him sitting there more confused and hurt than ever before.

Chapter 11 Another Again January 2007 Nicole's moan echoed through out the rented car, as Justin's hand cupped one of her covered breasts. Dear god, his hands felt wonderful on her. Just like she remembered…She moaned again as his thumb gently rubbed on her nipple. Oh god… He pressed her deeper into the backseat, as his lips devoured hers. Was she really about to have sex in a backseat of a car? His tongue teased hers. Yep, it seemed she was about to have sex in a backseat of a car… Justin broke his lips from hers, and began to trail kisses along her jaw, down to hollow of her neck. "You smell so good baby…" he whispered, his breath tickling along her neck. Nicole shut her eyes, relaxing against the backseat. Listening to the raindrops that hit the hood of the car as his lips explored her. A sigh escaped her lips letting her fingertips caress the back of his neck. God, his kisses felt so good… Being this way, with him- felt so good. Even though she knew in the back of her mind that it was temporary. Because she knew at the end, things never went beyond this. Not because they didn't want to, just because they both knew it was for the best. Another low moan left her lips as he moved his mouth back up to hers again. Making her forget about everything but his soft lips pressing lightly against her own. His tongue meshing with hers. After a few moments he broke away from her lips moving them to the back of her ear. She heard him moan softly at the same time she heard the thunder clap loudly outside of the car. All of a sudden her eyes flew open and her body tensed up. "J-Justin-" she stammered, pushing him off her with the palm of her hands. "J- stop." she said as she heard the thunder once again. Justin broke his lips away from behind her ear. "What is it?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing together as he looked up at her. "I cant." she whispered, and then licked her lips nervously. "We cant." Justin gave her a confused look. "Babe, I thought we-" stroking one of side of cheek with his thumb. Nicole swallowed. "I just-I cant." she said. "Why not?" he asked, trying his best to not look as disappointed as he felt. He wasn't trying to push her, but damn, he wanted her. "Just relax…" he suggested. Nicole sat up straight. "I cant J…" Justin opened his mouth, his thumb still stroking the side of her cheek. "I wasn't trying to pressure you-" "I know." She murmured, licking her lips and closing her eyelids once again as he pressed his lips against the side of her mouth. Before Nicole had a chance to continue, another clap of thunder hit the skies, and she let out a small squeak. "Nicky…" he murmured into her mouth. Nicole was wide eyed again. "We cant J-" she repeated, shifting in underneath him. "I just cant." Letting out a small sigh as his lips lingered behind her ear."Hmm…that feels good." she mumbled. But she lost her concentration when she heard another clap of thunder. "Justin, I cant." she repeated for what seemed the thousand time. "Why not?" he breathed, nipping on one of her earlobes before pulling away and locking eyes with her. "Whats wrong?" "I just cant concentrate…" she said, sitting up a little more, and letting her thumb run along his bottom lip. "I'm trying…but I cant." Feeling the familiar rush in her stomach when they got together this way. "Its not that I don't want to…" "Then what is it?" Justin asked, sticking his tongue out and flicking her thumb with it. She moved her hand away. "Its raining-" Justin interrupted her. "I thought we establish that?" Nicole glared at him. "Don't be an ass." she stated. Justin let out a small chuckle as he leaned back into her, and tried to kiss her. Nicole pulled away, raising her eyebrow at him. "Babe-" "Don't 'babe' me." she shook her head. "Forget it." Justin had to bite his lip from laughing. It always amazed him, how fast they could go from being 'just friends' to them acting like a couple. Then again, that's how their relationship had been through the years. It was twisted, but neither one would change it. "Nicole." he started, licking his lips and leaning in once again. It was twisted, but at the same time it was fun. He placed one hand behind her neck and pulled her face gently closer to his. "Don't get all pissy with me." he shot back with a smirk as he pressed his lips against hers. She moaned into his mouth, relaxing back against the seat, as he pressed himself against her once again. "I'm serious J-" she mumbled. "Serious about what?" Justin whispered, letting his tongue trace Nicole's bottom lip. "You being an ass." she managed to spat out. Okay, so maybe it wasn't going to be hard to concentrate… But as soon as that thought ran through her head, it quickly left her when she heard the thunder again. She broke from his lips. "Okay, stop. I cant. As much as I want to. I just cant." she stated. Justin only gave her a confused look. Nicole pushed herself off him once again. "I cant concentrate on us doing this here, when its storming out there. I just cant." "Baby-" Justin started. Nicole shook her head. "I cant J. I keep hearing the thunder and I get all jumpy…" Justin felt a smile begin to tug on his lips and then said teasingly. "I have that affect on women." Nicole rolled her eyes at him. "Im being serious-" Justin leaned back in and gave her a peck on the lips. "Is it really bothering you?" he asked. Nicole bit her lower lip and gave a slight nod. "Yes. I know its stupid…but I cant help it." she said sheepishly. "And all I want is to get out of here…" Justin chuckled and said teasingly. "You can be such a baby sometimes." Absently placing a strand of her loose hair behind her ear. He licked his lips, and leaned back in, whispering in her ear. "I'll take care of you…" he half-joked. She pulled away from him, and gave raised her eyebrow at him. "I bet you can" "Then let me." he shot back in his cocky voice. Leaning in and kissing one side of her mouth. "You know I'll keep you safe, and make you forget about the storm…" His lips moving to cover her mouth completely. Damn, she smelled delicious. She was like a piece of candy he was rushing to take a bite of. All he wanted more than anything at the moment was to have her naked. Completely nude. The kiss depened, and Justin pushed her gently back against the seat. All he had to do was get his hands underneath her blouse…and then he knew he could get her to forget about the stupid storm outside. Nicole moaned deep in her throat, as her arms snaked around Justin's neck, pulling him deeper to her. She let out a small gasp as Justin nipped at her lower lip. "Hmm." was all she said. Justin pressed her body deeper into the car seat. He was right, she knew he would take of her, and so far he was doing a damn good job at it. Justin moved his lips from her mouth, letting them land on her smooth throat. Feeling her shiver at the simple touch. "I'll take care of you Nic." she heard him murmur, feeling his hand cup her right breast, his fingers gently massaging. Nicole only moaned in appreciation, letting her head fall back as he continued to massage and kiss her. Storm? What storm? At least that's what she kept telling herself as Justin hot mouth continued to devour hers. His lips moving from her lips, back down to the hollow of her neck. She shut her eyes getting lost in the moment, getting lost with him. But before she had the chance to truly let herself relax, her eyes flew open and she stiffened when she heard the thunder again. She heard Justin's light chuckle in her ear, as his face was still buried in the hollow of her neck. She pushed him away. "This is not funny Justin!" she exclaimed in an annoyed voice. Justin stiffled back his laughter as he leaned in and gave her a peck on the lips. "Its just a storm. You don't have to freak out babe." Nicole gave him a glare.There were moments where he could be so sweet and cute, then there was moments when she wanted to step on his toes for being a jerk. And this one on of those moments. Ever since she could remember, storms freaked her out, she didn't know why, they just did. And Justin knew that, and had always teased her about it. "All I want to do is get out of here." she told him. "We have a flat tire." he reminded her. Gently rubbing one of her arms, feeling the goosebumps raise on her skin. "What do you want me to do?" he asked in an irritated voice, leaning in once again. He was getting desperate, and horny. Very horny. It had been years since he had seen her naked, or touched her, god dammit. He wanted her now. "Don't get an attitude with me Timberlake." she shot back. "This is me. Not one of your entourge members." Meeting his eyes with a glare. She didn't take his shit, and she let him know that. She wasn't scared of him. To her, he was just Justin. Not Justin Timberlake. Justin couldn't help but smirk at her remark. That's why he loved the girl, she didn't keep her mouth shut about anything or anyone. Especially him. Anyone else would have kept their mouth close, but Nicole wasn't anyone. Besides he liked seeing her riled up…it made the sex they had even hotter. "Geez girl, you don't have to get snippy." he told her half-jokingly. "I was just asking a question." Nicole gave him a doubtful look, as she bit her lower lip. Damn him for being able to push her buttons. And he was the only one that knew which ones to push too. But those thoughts left her as she reached out and gripped Justin's hand hearing the thunder once again. Justin gave only her a mischievous grin. She licked her lips nervously and released her grip from Justin's. He spoke once again. "I'll do whatever you want…" placing his now free hand on her thigh. "To get you to relax…" Rubbing gently on her thigh. "Get me out here." she murmured. "Babeee…" he whined, leaning back in. "How the fuck do you expect me to do that?" Giving her an expecting look. She pouted. "I don't. I know we are stuck here…" she answered back lamely. "We can make the best of it…" Justin suggested, wiggling his eyebrows. She couldn't help but giggle. Damn, and there was moments like this, where she thought he was the cutest thing in the world…and she found herself thinking of what could be…and what they once were…. "You know Im not going to be okay, until we are in a room with four walls and-" she stopped mid sentence as his lips covered hers. The kiss was deep and sensual. His tongue played with hers as his fingers sanked into her hair. He wanted to let her know with his kisses what he wanted…that he needed her in a way that seemed unexplainable. "J…" she started, breaking from his kiss. "Justin…" Trying to catch her breath, then moaning when his hot tongue licked one side of her neck. "Mmmmmmm…." was her response. Concentrate! She kept telling herself, pushing him back for what seemed the hundredth time. Justin groaned. "Your not going to make this easy are you?" Locking eyes with her, a scowl look on his handsome face. "When do I ever make things easy?" she joked. "I'll get you out of here-" She let out a small laugh. "Weren't you the one just telling me that there was no way-" "Girl, I'll find a way." he stated his southern drawl coming out. "Trust me, I'll find a way." Giving her a determine look, that made every girl on the planet want to have his baby. She sat up straight, touching one side of his face. "Whats the rush?" she asked him. Trying to understand where this sudden urgency to get laid was coming from. "Im horny." he simply stated with a hammy grin. Nicole busted out laughing at his comment. "Justin!" she exclaimed. He couldn't help but laugh himself. "Okay, okay, that wasn't exactly smooth…" he stated with sheepish smile. "You think?" she said through her giggles. He smiled at her, stroking one side of her cheek with his thumb. "I'm not trying to rush…" How could he put into words what he meant? "Then what?" she pushed. "Im not going anywhere…" she chewed at her lower lip. "Unless…you are…" trailing off. Because truth of matter was, Nicole didn't know what to expect now that they were both single.What to expect beyond the physical. "I'm not going anywhere either Nic. I'm right here." They both knew his words meant a lot more. He wasn't just talking about him being there with her… He leaned in, and whispered straight into her ear. "Its been too long…" he paused. "Im not trying to rush…" he repeated licking his own lips. "I just want to feel you again. Lick you from head to toe..."
Nicole whimpered at his his words. "I want that too J...."
And here they were…again…wanting to get lost in that cylce they both knew so well. The one that they had created years ago and that neither one wanted to lose or give up. The cycle that lead both of them back to another again.

Chapter 12
Something's Missing Present "You didn't have to fill the tank up." Nicole said to Justin as she buckled up her seatbelt. She glanced up as he closed the drivers door side. "But thanks for doing it anyway." A grin on her soft features. They had finish breakfast and decided to fuel up on gas before they headed back to Justin's house.
Justin started the engine, while glancing over at her with a smirk. "You owe me now." he joked, putting the car in drive and making his way to the main street. "I'm thinking you owe me big." he told her with a raised eyebrow. She rolled her eyes at him. "Whatever." Letting her head rest against the car seat and closing her eyes. Justin only chuckled, making a stop at a red light. He couldn't help but stare, as she sat next to him. Her head resting against the car seat, eyelids shut. She was a beautiful woman. There was no deny it. Even after all these years, he still saw it. But it was different. There were showy pretty women, the model type, gorgeous women, and then there were women like Nicole. Witty, soft and sexy with an innocent sensuality. Yes, because even after all these years, there was still an innocence about her, that not many other women had. And not many men appreciated… "What did Lynn say when you called her earlier?" She asked interrupting his thoughts, opening her eyes, turning to face him, her head still resting against the seat. He blinked back to reality, looking straight ahead as the light turn green. "She didn't even notice I was gone." At breakfast, Nicole had suggested Justin call his mom from one of the public phones, seeing that their phones were dead. They both wanted to let Lynn know that they were okay. Nicole giggled, and turned her head to glance out her window. "She didn't notice? How could she not?" "She thought I stayed at Jessica's." She formed a small 'O' with her mouth. There was a long pause, before she spoke up again. "Did you call Jessica?" "Yep." he stated. "She thought I stood her up…" he told her, glancing up at the rear view mirror. Nicole looked back at him, a small frown on her face ."Did you explain what happen?" furrowing her eyebrows. "I'm sorry J-" Justin interrupted her. "Sorry for what? It was nobody's fault. We got stuck." "But I feel like its kind of my fault, I mean you went with me-" Justin shrugged. "I explained it to her. Told her, we had no way in contacting anyone because of the storm. That we lost power, and that my best friend is a big pussy when it comes to storms-" he stopped and gave her a wide grin. Nicole glared, sticking her tongue at him. He continued. "She said she wasn't mad, but if she is, she'll just have to get over it. I wasn't doing anything wrong." Nicole only nodded, then looked out the her window again. He was right. He hadn't done anything wrong. She hadn't done anything wrong. Except for the non-existing kiss that almost did not happen… She still wasn't sure what had happened, except that his lips touched hers, and she did not bother to move herself away from him. Or the fact that it didn't feel wrong… Until now. "Do you want to me to say something to her?" she asked him after a few seconds, chewing on her lower lip, as she met his gaze. "I don't want her-" Justin shook his head, interrupting. "You don't have to say anything to her. There is no need to." "I just don't want her getting the wrong idea…" Nicole trailed off, glancing away from his gaze. Justin and Jessica had been together for a little over a year now, but Nicole and Jessica didn't really know each other .Yes, they all hanged out in the same crowd, but never truly talked, and sometimes Nicole felt Jessica was still a bit hesitant about her, and her friendship with Justin. Justin snorted, as they came to another stop light. "What?" Nicole asked, wrinkling her nose at him. "If I really wanted her to get the wrong idea, all I would have to do is tell her about our past together." Justin said sarcastically. Nicole felt a light blush hit her cheeks, as she slumped into the seat. "Shut up." she paused. "And I thought that was between me and you?" she asked in a low whisper. Justin's face turn serious. "It is. C'mon Nic. Do you really think I would share any of that?" Gripping the steering wheel with one hand, as he hit the AC button. "Not even Cameron knew about that, and I was with her for over four years." He looked over at her with a small knowing smile. "That's only between me and you." Nicole rolled her eyes as she added. "And Trace, and Rach…" He wrinkled his nose. "Yea, well…those two are worse than the paparazzi sometimes." Nicole chuckled lightly, loosing herself in her own thoughts again. What they were was complicated. Always had been. But it worked. Even after all these years it worked. And the best part was Justin did not have to answer questions to anyone about it. Because it was kept between them. When it first happen, they hadn't planned on keeping it a secret, but somehow through the years it just made sense. And it wasn't like there was anything going on between them now…because there wasn't. But again, they had a unspoken rule, about sharing that type of information with their significant other at the time. It was better kept between them… At least that was Justin and Nicole's reasoning. "Its never crossed you mind," licking her lips. "What?" Justin asked, keeping his eyes on the road. "Telling them…about any of it?" she asked, curiosity getting the best of her. "What for?" he stated. "Its not getting in the way of anything. So why open a can of worms we both know we don't want open?" She knew he had a point. When either one or both were with other people, they didn't interfere in each others personal life. They acted like the platonic friends they'd always been. "Besides, do you really think anyone would understand it?" he asked her jokingly. Nicole only gave him a small grin. "What about you?" "What about me?" "Did you ever mention it to any of your ex-boyfriends?" an amused look on his face, as he made a right turn on green. Nicole tossed her head back, and laughed. "Yea, that would have gone over great with them. They already had an inferior complex when it came to you. They would have loved to have known how you-" she stopped herself, and cleared her throat. "How I what Nic?" Justin pushed with a raised eyebrow. Nicole shook her head slightly but didn't respond. Justin continued. "How I was your first-" but stopped mid-sentence when Nicole turned to face him again with a long warning look. He chuckled. "What? You brought it up not me." he said defensively. "I hate you sometimes." Nicole mumbled, reaching out to turn down the AC in the car. Justin rolled his eyes at her and said sarcastically. "Yet, here you are." "I don't do good with change." she replied back dryly. "Yea, yea." Justin retorted, turning on the AC back up. Nicole gave him a small pout. "J, its cold in here." "Put on a sweater-oh wait you are wearing one- mine." he stated, looking at her by the corner of his eye. She continued to pout, but didn't say a word, gazing out the car window again. For the next ten minutes or so, they didn't speak. Driving in complete silence. Every once in awhile catching each others gaze by the corner of their eyes. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was more of an understanding silence. Finally Justin spoke up. "Are you rethinking this crazy idea about selling the house?" Nicole shook her head, but didn't bother looking over at him. "Then what are you thinking about? I can practically see the wheels spinning in your head." he teased. She placed a strand of loose hair behind her ear, and let out a small sigh. "I'm just thinking about how easy it would be to drop everything and disappear to somewhere exotic." She told him truthfully, her gaze still fixed on the view outside her window. She finally turned to look at him and asked. "Don't you get tired of it sometimes?" "Sure I do. Who doesn't?" he told her. Understanding what she was asking. "Ever think of just dropping everything? I mean truly, leaving everything, and trying to find…whatever else is out there?" she asked him. If this was anyone else but Justin she would not be talking this way, but it was Justin and she knew he wouldn't think it was weird. It wasn't the first time they had these type of conversations. "Sure." he paused. "Where is this coming from?" "I don't know." she stated with a shrug. "I guess…after being sick, I just keep wondering what else is out there. And I am really doing what I want…and I am really happy. All these questions that no one has the answers to…" Once again glancing out the window. She let out nervous laugh. "I'm just over thinking everything..."
"Its okay to do that sometimes." Justin reassured her with a smile. "You sure?" she mumbled. "Yeah." "Its drives me crazy sometimes J." she swallowed back her tears. "Truly drives me crazy." Justin let out a small chuckle. "I can understand the feeling." he paused. "Is this what has you stressed out? Is why you want to sell the house?" Nicole nodded, sniffling. "What if this house isn't what I want?" she paused. "What if finishing school isn't what I want? Then what's the point?" Biting on her lower lip to keep the tears from falling. "Then, you have to look for what you want." he told her. "Forget about what people are expecting of you Nic. If your not happy, then find what makes you happy." he paused for a split second. "And keep looking till you find it baby. Because you deserve it." Nicole blinked back the tears. What she wanted? What would make her happy? All these things kept running through her head of what she wanted to do. But for some reason one thing running over and over in her mind…was him.

Pure Clarity Spring 98' "What are you doing?" Justin slurred, watching Nicole bend in front of him. "Nickyyy…" he whined His head falling back against the couch. "Are we home?" he asked, letting his eyes shut . "Yes." was Nicole answer. He opened his eyes again, trying to lift his head back up. "What're you doin?" he slurred once again. "Why are you taking off my shoes?" he asked her, finally lifting his head back up, and glancing down as Nicole pulled his shoes off. "Because your going to sleep." she informed him, taking the right shoe off as well. "Fuck…" he mumbled, leaning right into her, pressing his forehead against her shoulder . He moaned slightly. "Fuck…I'm so drunk." "Yea." was her response. "That's why I'm trying to get you to lay down." "Cause I'm drunk?" he asked her, his forehead still pressed against her shoulder. "Shit, Nicky…my mom cant see me this way…okay? She-she just cant…" he spat out. "We have to be quiet. Shh." lifting his head, and placing a finger to his lips. "Shh." Nicole snorted back her laughter. He was amusing to watch when he got drunk. She never really got to see it, but when he got drunk, it was show. It made for some interesting stories for the next day, even weeks…
"Lynn isn't going to find out." she reassured him. "I know…we have to be shh…" his finger still pressed to his lips. "She would go ape shit on me if she found out I was still drinking." he told her. "I told her I was going to stop for awhile." His blue eyes glassy but smiling into her brown ones. "She said I needed to take it shlower…" slurring the last word. "So that means you have to be quiet too.." pressing his forefinger to her lips. "Promise me Nicole." "Promise." she manage to say even with his finger on her lips. Justin licked his lips. "You have soft lips." he informed her, his finger still touching her lips. Nicole chuckled. "Thanks." "Your welcome." he answered happily with a grin, moving his finger from her lips and lightly taping her nose with the tip of his finger. "How did I get soooo drunk?" he mumbled. "So fucking shitfaced!" he exclaimed. Nicole stood up, and reached down to place both of his long legs on the couch. "I don't know, you tell me." she asked him. "I don't know. I don't know Nicky." licking his dry lips and letting his head drop to the pillows underneath him. "I just member' a lot of whiskey.." he lifted his head up a little, letting one of his legs drop back to the ground with a thump. "Was there a lot of whiskey?" he asked her. "Yes." Nicole answered. "In fact you had most of it." grunting lightly as she placed his leg back on the couch. She was over him, leaning down, as she reached for the quilt that sat above his head. "You smell good Nicky." Justin observed, locking his eyes with her. "Have I mention how pretty you looks?" he slurred, lifting one hand to touch her cheek. She chuckled. He had mention it plenty of times in the car ride back to her house. "Yea and you are drunk." she reminded him. He tilted his head a little. "I might be drunk-but I am not blind." he told her. "You are sooooooo pretty." he repeated with a grin. "Your smile always makes me smile Nicky. Always." he paused. His tone turned serious, as did his face. "I was stupid…" he trailed off. "So fucking stupid." shutting his eyes once again. "And I know, I know I will pay for it for the rest of my life…" Nicole placed the quilt over him and stood straight up. "What are you talking about?" she asked him, curiosity getting the best of her. "What will you have to pay for the rest of your life?" Her heart beating a little bit faster. "For being a dumb ass and letting you go." he paused to collect his thoughts. He opened his eyes again. "I was stupid." he slurred. "I had you…and I know I was an idiot. I know it." he repeated. "J, your drunk-" He interrupted her. "I-I had you. You loved me…and I loved you…and I was a-an idiot." He lifted his head up slightly. "And now when I am on the road…I think of you. I think of us being together." he slurred. She had to make him stop. Whether he was drunk or not, she did not need or want to hear any of this. It had been months since they had decided to go back to being just friends- or since he decided that's what he wanted. "Go to sleep." she told him. But he wasn't listening, he sat back up, and reached for her hand. "Do you forgive me Nic? For being a jerk?" letting his head drop back on the side of the couch. "Cause I knew I was. I just don't know- what it was you I wanted…" his words becoming harder to understand. Nicole turned on the small lap on the table next to the couch. "Go to sleep." she repeated. Trying her best to ignore the drunken confession he was sharing right at that moment. "Get some rest." she whispered with a yawn. "What are you going to do?" he asked her, his glassy blue eyes looking up at her. "I'm going upstairs and going to bed." she informed him, turning around to leave, but he suddenly lunged forward to stop her, sending them both crashing to the floor, his grip on her waist. "Justin!" Nicole belted out, coming to a rolling stop, Nicole lying awkwardly on top of him. "Are you crazy?!" "Why do I have to sleep on the couch…and you, get to sleep in my bed?" he demanded, his grip on her waist tightening. "Because we are not at your house, you dumb ass." she informed him, starting to loose her patience with him. From the moment they left the party, she had to deal with his grabby hands, and his drunken remarks, not to mention stopping in the middle of the road to let him puke. "Then, then were are we?" he asked. "At my house." she stated. It hadn't really matter if she had taken home, neither one their parents were at home anyway. Justin had paid for his mom, and Nicole's mom to get out of Memphis for the weekend, and Justin's step-dad was in Florida for the week. "Justin, let go." she told him. "If I have to stay down here, then so are you." Justin told her with a cheekily smile on his handsome face. "It's 3 o clock in the morning." she snapped. "Let go so I can go to bed." "No." "Let me go Justin." He shook his head. "I like having you on top of me this way." "Your such an asshole." Nicole spat out, trying to get up from on top of him, but he just pulled her back down against his chest. She did not want to play games. She was tired, and now annoyed. "I'm serious Timberlake, let go." she said again. Her heart was racing, but she also knew he was drunk out of his mind, so anything he said or did at that moment meant nothing, because when he sobered up the next day, he would tell her it was a mistake. That he had been drunk, and didn't know what he was doing. But Justin didn't budge. He kept his grip on her. "I thought you liked it when I held you this way." he asked her, lifting his head up. "No. I know you like it." "Stop it." she pleaded. "Your completely wasted right now." Nicole didn't want to go open that can of worms again. She had just started to get over her feelings for him. She did not need him stirring them up again. Especially when he was drunk. Justin had made it clear 4 months ago that they should go back to being friends.
"And I told you- I am not blind." he repeated. Nicole snorted. "What does that have to do with anything? Just let go okay?" "Why?" he asked inhaling sharply. "Because. Because I said so. Because you've had too much to drink tonight. And I'm tired-" but she was cut short when he flipped her over, so he is hovering on top now. "I'm too tired to play your stupid games." she snapped. "Will you shut up?" he said with a smile. Nicole arched her eyebrow at him. "Don't make me kick you in the damn balls Timberlake." she threaten him. "I should have just left you at the stupid party. But no, I had to answer the damn phone…" But her last words were cut short when he suddenly crashed his soft lips against hers roughly. Nicole gasped, pushing at his chest, as she squirmed underneath him. Not only could she taste the alcohol, but she smelled the cigarettes and weed on his clothes. "Justin…stop it." she muttered against his lips, giving his chest a hard shove. "Nic…" he slurred. "No. Don't." she spat out. "Your wasted." she paused for a second. "And this is not some kind of game Justin! I'm not some stupid star struck girl-" she stopped, trying to catch her breath. "I know that babeee…" he told her, his glassy eyes locking with her brown eyes. "No. You don't get it. I'm not doing this again." bit her lower lip. "I have feelings too." Mustering whatever strength she had, she gripped his waist, and flipped herself over, straddling his waist again. She met his eyes again and pulled herself off him. "I placed some aspirins by the table if you need them in the morning." she swallowed. "I'm going to bed." And without saying another word, she walked away from him, leaving him on the floor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next morning… Justin woke up to the smell of hot breath on his face. He opened his eyes, and found himself face to face with the lab dog he had given Nicole for Christmas. "Jinx." he mumbled. "Get off." he grunted, trying to lift his head of the floor. But the dog wouldn't budge, instead it bend his head down, and began licking Justin's face. "Jinx!" Justin exclaimed. "Stop it!" Quickly sitting up on the couch. Jinx followed and sat next him on the couch. Barking. Justin wiped the dog drool with the back of his hand, and looked over at the dog, rubbing the top of his head. "I didn't mean to yell, you just caught me off guard." he explained to the dog. "Thanks for the dog drool." he said dryly. Jinx barked again. Justin moved his hand from the dog's head, and rubbed his face instead. Trying to figure out why he had just woken up on Nicole's floor. "Where's your momma? Where's Nicole?" as if Jinx would answer him. Jinx jumped off the couch, barking as he ran up the stairs. "Jinx!" Justin exclaimed, getting up from the couch, and following the dog up the stairs. "Jinx! If she is asleep don't go in there." But the dog wasn't listening. Justin cursed under his breath, watching as Jinx stood in front of Nicole's bedroom door. "Jinx!" he whispered desperately. "Don't go in there." Looking down at the dog, then at the ajar door. Jinx quickly bumped the ajar door open, barking as he made his way into Nicole's bedroom. "Damn dog." Justin muttered under his breath following behind him. Justin stepped into Nicole's bedroom, expecting to find her still in bed. But when he looked over to the bed, he realized that she wasn't in it. He glanced down at Jinx, who stood a few feet from her bed. "Your lucky she's awake." he told the dog with a small frown. Jinx barked again. "Jinx?" Justin heard Nicole call out from the bathroom. The dog barked louder when he heard Nicole's voice. The bathroom door flew open and Nicole walked out, a towel wrapped around her body, hair dripping wet. Justin swallowed back nervously. His eyes fixated on how beautiful she looked in the mornings. There was no pretense with her. She looked stunning. He realized for the first time in months how much he missed her. She hadn't seen him yet, she bend down and rubbed the back of Jinx ears as the dog wagged his tail. "I told you to be quiet. Justin is still sleeping and we don't want to wake him up remember?" Jinx barked again. "He had a rough night." she told the dog. Jinx wagged his tail and licked her cheek. "Your such a good dog." she whispered with a small giggle. With a smile still on her face, she finally glanced up, her eyes widening when she saw Justin standing by her bed. Surprise to see him there, she stumbled and landed on her ass on the floor. "You scared me!" she exclaimed, holding the towel tighter around her waist. Justin couldn't help but smile as he walked over to her and reached out his hand to her. "Sorry." he said lamely. She took it, and Justin pulled her up. "You could've have said something." she said, making sure the towel was still wrapped around her body as she stood face to face. Justin smirked. "You look engrossed in your conversation with Jinx." glancing over at the dog, who know sat on the floor next to Nicole's bed. "Yea, well you still could have said something." she snapped. Justin shrugged. "I said I was sorry." Trying his best to not keep starring at her. He loved the fact that she wasn't wearing any make-up and that her hair was wet, it kept leaving drops of water on her soft shoulders. She nervously moved a strand of wet hair from her face. There was a long silence. Finally she spoke up. "Are you feeling okay?" she asked him, looking over his shoulder. Justin tried to get her attention, but she wouldn't look at him. "Yeah. Jinx woke me up with his hot breath." he teased lamely. Nicole glanced over at her dog, and wrinkled her nose. "I told him to let you sleep." she said, finally making eye contact with him. He shook his head. "Its okay. I guess its my fault for sleeping on the floor." rubbing the back of his head with his hand. She giggled. "You slept on the floor?" He raised an eyebrow at her. "Yes." he paused. "Do you know how or why I ended on the floor?" he asked her. Licking his lips, and wondering how her soft skin would feel against his fingertips. No. Stop. He had to stop. They weren't together. So he had to stop thinking about her in that way. Even if it killed him. Her giggle subsided. "You don't remember?" "No. Should I?" She only shrugged and instead asked. "Are you feeling okay?" Justin gave her a curious look, and nodded. "Yea. Fine." his eyes locked with hers. "Was I that bad last night?" Nicole gave him a knowing smile. "We had to stop on the way home because you had to throw up." she told him. Justin closed his eyes and groaned. "I'm sorry- wait," he said. "Were you at the party too?" She shook her head. "I got a phone call from your cell phone-I don't know who it was but they asked me to pick you up." Great. He cringed. He didn't remember much of the night. "I made an idiot of myself?" he asked. Nicole played with the top of the towel. "Not more than usual." she told him teasingly. "You kept saying to make sure Lynn didn't find out about you drinking. Made me promise." she finished with a mischievous smile. "I think your enjoying this a little too much." he told her, taking a step closer to her. She bit at her lower lip, shrugging. "Anything else I should know about?" he asked her. There was bits and pieces he remember but not enough. He remembered being at the party and drinking like a damn fish. He remembered someone taking his phone. He remembered getting into a car. He did not remember stopping and puking.
Yet, all of a sudden more events came to focus. The room was silent. Neither one had said anything in the past few minutes. Nicole spoke up first. "I'm going to change-" "What else did I do?" interrupting her. What he had said to her came back to him. But he wanted her to tell him. Nicole shrugged and let out a shaky breath. "Nothing." she stated, not looking at him. Justin stepped in closer. "You sure?" he asked. "Because my rambling is coming back to me." She looked up at him through her lashes. "If its coming back to you, then you don't need me to repeat it." she shook her head slightly. "Besides, you were drunk." He ran his thumb down to her bare shoulder. "And since I was drunk, then I didn't mean it?" She glared at him now. "Let me refresh your memory, of who you went to the party with: Danielle. Remember her?" she snapped. "I don't want to play games Justin. I don't." she paused. "You made it perfectly clear of who you did and didn't want." folding her arms across her chest. "Like I said last night- I am an idiot." he said jokingly. She crinkled her nose. "Cant argue with you there." She turned on her heels. "I'm need to change-" her sentence was cut short when she felt Justin's hand take a hold of her elbow and turn her back around to face him. "What now? " she asked him in an irritated tone. He grinned. He couldn't help himself. All he kept thinking about was getting to kiss her again. Only this time, doing it right. Unlike the night before. He knew he shouldn't But damn her for looking so good right at that moment. "I'm going to kiss you." he told her, leaning in closer. His bottom lip lightly touching hers. "I remember doing that last night..." he whispered. Nicole swallowed, taking a step back. "No." shaking her head. "You need to get out so I can change and take you to your car." Licking her lower lip. "So-get out of my room." she stated with whatever control she had. But Justin wasn't budging, he tangled his fingers into her hair, and pulled her mouth to his. "A complete and total idiot." he whispered into her mouth as he kissed her. Kissed her with everything he had. She broke away just slightly. "What?" "Letting you go." he murmured. Nicole broke away completely. "No. Just go. Your with Danielle now. And I'm finally moving on, and I-" she was silenced with a kiss. A kiss that was so passionate, filled with a fire that melted her resolve and stopped any further protest. Her lips crashed against his mouth, knocking him back before he regained control, giving as good as he got until they were both breathless. He broke away for a slight moment. "And I'm not with Danielle." he told her. "But you were." Nicole shot back, trying to catch her breath. "And that bothers you?" he asked. She raised her eyebrow at him, shaking her head. "You can do whatever you want. I don't own you." She knew she should walk away from him. But he was like a magnet. "Whatever I want?" he repeated, looking down at her towel covered body. "So if I wanted you right now, you would be okay with that?" he challenged. Deep down, he knew he should stop. Stop it right now. Dear god, she was sixteen. If her mother found out what he wanted to do with her, she would slap him. If his mother found out what they were doing, she would slap him. "Maybe…" she whispered, her eyes fluttering shut. "Hmm." he smirked. "What happen to you not playing games?" he asked in an amused tone. "I'm not playing games." she stated, opening her eyes. "So then what do you want?" "What do you want?" she restored back. She didn't wait for an answer. "Obviously, you want us to be friends…but at the same time…" "At the same time what Nicky?" he asked expectantly. She licked her lips. He answered for her. "At the same time I want you." "Yeah." she whispered. "And you want me too?" "Yeah." she repeated. "So what do you want us to do?" he asked her, taking a step closer. "Hmm?" Nicole felt every nerve of her body tingle at his simple words. There was a long silence before she spoke up. "I'm done with putting myself out there." she told him honestly. Justin felt a panged of guilt in his chest at her blunt words. He swallowed. "Your only sixteen little girl." He knew it was his fault for how she was feeling. He had fucked up big time with her. And it was going to haunt him years later. She shrugged. "I thought it over, and better now than later." she met his gaze. "Its pure clarity now."

After the show…
Nicole followed behind Lonnie, Justin's security, the crowds yells still ringing in her ears as she watched Justin being escorted to the backstage area. She licked her lips sensually, as she felt her heart thump deep in her chest. She watched him as he headed straight into his dressing room. Smiling to herself, she followed him. She had one thing in mind at the moment.
And it was the same thing she had been thinking about from the moment he had made his big show entrance. Usually, when she went to any of his shows, she liked to watch the crowd around her. Watch their reaction to him, but not that night. That night, she had been sucked into his show. Literally hypnotize by him. From the moment he hit the stage with "FutureSex/LoveSound" she kept getting the same image in her head. The one from earlier that morning. The one of his head between her thighs…
Fuck, just thinking about it, made her insides tingle with excitement.
By the time he was into "My Love", she knew want she wanted to do. Never in her life had she been more turned on by one his performances. Yes, she had seen plenty of his shows before, but never had her heart raced faster watching him move up on stage. Never had her body reacted to his sexy moves like they had tonight.
Never had she wanted to tell everyone around her, that she knew what those dances moves could do in bed…
She was so lost in her thoughts, that she bumped right into Rachael. She blinked back to reality and smiled at her oldest friend. "Sorry."
Rachael smirked knowingly and folded her arms in front of her. "Any chance I can get you to help me with the dogs while J takes his shower?" Looking over Nicole's shoulder, the dressing room door left open.
Nicole bit her lower lip and looked up at her friend through her lashes. "How bad do you need my help?" a pleading look in her eyes.
Rachael rolled her eyes. "I swear, if you get caught. I'm not covering your asses again." Referring to earlier that morning, as she and the dogs made their way out of the dressing room. Nicole glanced over her shoulder, making sure the door was closed. She turned her attention away from the door when she heard the shower turn on in the bathroom and reach for the knob, her body tingling with anticipation.
She knew it was dangerous to want to do this right now, with all the people that were roaming outside the dressing room. But she couldn't help it. Her body couldn't wait anymore. She usually had more self-control when it came to sex. But after this mornings little taste, she couldn't wait for more. And it only turned her on even more knowing, he was still on a high from his show.
"You've fucking lost it." she said out loud as she quietly turned the knob. She waited a few seconds before taking a step inside, expecting to hear his voice. Asking who was in there. But she didn't hear anything. She grin, as she gently shut the bathroom door behind her. With the butterflies still fluttering in her stomach, she began to undress.
"Who the fuck is in-" Justin's voice boomed through the tile walls, as the shower curtain flew open. His eyes widen first in anger, then in surprise when he saw her standing there, now fully naked. "Nicole! Jesus, you scared the shit out of me!" His demeanor changing as his blue eyes looked her up and down, his tongue snaking out of his mouth to lick his lower lip.
Nicole chewed her lower lip, a light smile on her soft features, her last piece of clothing still in her hand. Her bra. "I can leave if you want me to-" she suggested with a raised eyebrow, making a gesture as if she was headed to the door.
"Uh no." Justin exclaimed, reaching out for her, taking hold of her elbow and pulling her closer to the shower. He smiled at her. "You cant just come in here, get buck naked and then expect me to let you leave." he joked. "It doesn't work that way girl."
She couldn't help but stare at the fact that he was completely wet. And naked. Damn his body was amazing. His broad shoulders-which were glistening with water, to his rippled abdomen…to his dick which now, stood long and proud. She smirked.
She let a small gasp, and let her bra drop on the floor as Justin pulled her into the shower with him. "Justin!" she exclaimed. Gasping once again as warm water hit the small of her back.
Justin let go of her elbow, quickly wrapping one arm around her naked waist, pulling her body to his. "Don't play innocent with me Nicole." he said with a knowing smile before he kissed her. Truly kissed her. He moaned in appreciation, his hand squeezing gently on her bare ass cheek.
"J…" she stuttered, pressing herself more against him. A whimper leaving her lips as both of his hands squeezed her ass. "Justin…" she trailed off, feeling the size of him on the thigh.
"Nicole…"
"What if we get caught?" she managed to ask.
He chuckled against her mouth. "You came in here remember?"
"Oh right."
"Right." Justin moaned, loving the feel of her breasts against his chest. He could feel her hard nipples and the beating of her heart. He sighed before capturing her lips. He slid one hand behind the back of her neck, gently gripping on the back of her head.
Nicole broke from his lips. "I think we still have some unfinished business Birthday boy…" pressing a kiss to his throat, his adams apple bobbing under her lips.
"We do." Justin agreed. Watching Nicole trail kisses down his wet chest, her teeth nibbling on one of his nipples as she traveled further down. He groaned. She opened her mouth, dragging her soft lips over the rough grooves of his stomach. He could only groan again. Watching her circle his belly button with the tip of her tongue, dipping in. "Nicole." he grunted a little, his fingers wrapping into her now wet hair.
She carefully took hold of his cock and stroked it gently while looking into his blue eyes. Justin looked right back at her with a mixture of warmth and heat. She could feel him continue to swell in her hand. Her other hand reached a little lower to his balls and she carefully used her nails to let him know they wouldn't be forgotten. She wanted to give him the same pleasure he had imposed on her that morning.
"This is all I've been able to think about…" Nicole said as she rubbed it against her cheek and then licked the pre-come from the tip. She looked up at him and his blue eyes were blazing back which only inflamed her urge to take him. "You have no idea of the things that kept running through my mind while you were on stage." She licked her lips starring at his aching cock, taking it into her mouth. Nicole took him further in her mouth. She moaned and the vibration against his cock had his hips pressing forward. She tightened her hand around the base of his shaft and began to pump, her hand brushing against her lips with every stroke. Nicole lowered her eyes and watched transfixed as his cock slid between her parted lips. She was determined to take him all the way in her mouth and make him scream.
He hissed when she allowed his dick to fall from her mouth. "Fuck." he spat out, gently delving his fingers deeper into her hair.
Nicole angled her head to suck one of his balls. He spread his legs out a little more to give her more access. She placed the palm of her hand just behind his balls, slowly massaging his ass with her fingers. She ran her tongue from his balls up the underside of his shaft, around the head and then back down.
His cock twitched just above her mouth as Nicole ran that same trail over and over, and then suddenly swallowed his cock almost to the base and sucked hard. Justin glanced down entranced watching this, feeling the come starting to build in his cock. The hand in her hair clenched tighter.
"Nicole…" he grunted. "I'm going to come Nicole…" he stammered, licking his dry lips. "Get back up here girl." he ordered her in a strain voice. He wanted to come-but inside her. He had been fantasying about it for weeks now. And even though he was getting a hell of a blow job, he wanted to be in her.
But Nicole wasn't budging from her position, her hand reached up to scrape her manicured nails down the muscles of his stomach before curling around the base of his cock, holding it in place while she continue to suck forcefully. Low grunts turning into loud moans as he arched upward while she moved up and down the length of his shaft. The hand he griped on her hair let up. Nicole hummed in appreciation as his thumb gently stroked the side of her face, which only drew another long moan from him. "I'm being fucking serious girl, get back up here…" he breathed, before moaning again as she did it again and feeling his muscles tense, his hands once again delving into her wet hair as his hot come filled Nicole's mouth.
Nicole swallowed as he pressed his back against the shower wall, his eyes closed. Heaving. Nicole found herself smirking in satisfaction in what she had just done.
"Justin! "
The smirk quickly left her face when she heard Trace's familiar voice.
"Are you done yet man? Everyone is waiting on you to head back to the hotel."
Justin's eyes flew open as he looked over at Nicole with a frown. "Are you fucking kidding me? I cant even fucking come in peace?" he mumbled, turning off the water.
"Justin?!"
"I fucking heard you!" Justin yelled. "Give me five minutes!"
"Hurry the fuck up!" Trace yelled again.
Nicole got out of the shower first, grabbed her clothes and quickly pulled them back on. "C'mon birthday boy." she teased with a light grin.
"I swear to fucking god I'm going to get you alone for longer than 15 damn minutes." he promised, pulling on his clothes. He sighed, Nicole only smiled as he slipped on his shoes and lead her out of the bathroom. Trying to keep his temper in check, as he jammed his hands into his jackets pocket.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later on that night…
Nicole yawned as she let her head rest lightly on Justin's shoulder, shutting her eyelids as she tried to block out the loud conversations that were going on around her. All she wanted at that moment was to get into bed. Maybe sleep until noon, or later…
Her eyes flew open when she heard Justin whisper down to her. "That's right, rest little girl, because you wont be getting any sleep once we are back at the hotel." a mischievous grin on his face.
Nicole tried to hide her smirk at his words. "Says who?"
"Says me." he stated, planting a light kiss on the top of her head. He wrapped one arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to him. Any other night he wouldn't dare hold her this close around his friends, but most of his friends at the moment were drunk and in their own little worlds.
After the show Lynn had gather everyone together to go out and celebrate Justin's birthday. And celebrating everyone had done on his behalf. Sure he had a few drinks and even got a bit buzzed during the night, but it had faded quickly. And the reason for his lack of drinking had to do with the woman sitting next to him. Maybe it was the anticipation of having her fully naked and alone for more than 15 minutes that had stopped him from getting drunk on his birthday. Damn it, he wanted to remember the night. Wanted to remember every single moment.
"Hmm. Oh really?" Nicole said, lifting her head up and meeting his gaze.
He leaned in closer to her, his lips inches away from hers. "Hmm. Really. Once I have you alone, its on girl."
Nicole licked her lower lip, as she tugged on his shirt pulling him closer to her. "Mmm… you sound so sure of yourself."
Justin gave her his famous grin. "Trust me- you wont be able to walk straight once I'm done with you."
Nicole smiled back at him, quickly letting go of his shirt when she heard someone say his name. He moved his arm from around her shoulder and turned his attention to the people in the seat in front of them. Their friends oblivious to their flirting. Nicole couldn't get the smile off her face as she glanced out the window, her mind running wild in anticipation of what was going to happen once she was alone with him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Are you sure she's going to be okay?" Nicole asked Justin in a worried tone as she stepped into his hotel room 35 minutes later.
Justin placed his keys on the small table by the door, as he shut it. "She's going to be fine. She's just going to pass out." he snorted back his laughter. "Never in my life have I seen her that drunk." he shook his head slightly.
Nicole giggled. "It is pretty funny." leaning against the couch. "Never did I think I would see your mother drunk." a look of pure amusement on her face, as an image of Lynn, trying to get into the elevator came back to her. She giggled again.
Justin chuckled too as he made his way toward Nicole. "I'm not going to let her live it down." stepping between her legs. "She'll be fine. Dad will take care of her." Wrapping one arm around her waist, gently tugging her closer to his body. He smirked. "She was pretty fun to watch though." leaning in to plant a kiss on her soft cheek. He had seen his mom buzzed plenty of times before, but never had he seen her fully drunk like she had been earlier that night. It had been entertaining to say the least.
Nicole closed her eyes, letting him kiss her softly on the cheek. "She was." a small sigh leaving her lips, as he cupped her face with his free hand, as his mouth continued to plant small kisses on both of her cheeks, nose, forehead, eyelids, and then the side of her mouth. "Hmm." she hummed in appreciation. "What about you birthday boy?"
He moved his mouth from hers, and nuzzled the hollow of her neck with the tip of his nose. "What about me?"
She shivered as his breath tickled the side of her neck. "How are you feeling?"
"Hmm. I'm fine." he murmured, lifting his head up, and meeting her gaze.
"You sure?"
Justin let go of her waist, leaning in, and resting his hands on both side of the couch her body. Trapped between the couch and his body. "Hmm, hmm. I told myself I needed to be sober for this." a light grin forming on his lips.
Nicole tilted her head and asked innocently. "Sober for what?"
"Sober for when I fuck you." he whispered, leaning in and nipping on her lower lip. "Fuck you good…" trailing off, as he captured her lips in a long hard kiss that left both of them breathless.
"Mmm…promise?" she whispered
"I can handle that…" she told him, letting him roll the tank top back up and over her head. He kissed her again, deep, hard, again and again, their mouth slapping together. Then her tongue slid along his lip in a sexy little lick. He groaned into her mouth, tossing her top over her shoulder. Justin groaned again when he realized she wasn't wearing a bra underneath the simple top. His mouth hovered over her nipple for a few seconds before they brushed back and forth over her nipple in a maddening tease. Then he brought his teeth down on her lightly, but enough to make her jump and free her ankles from the skirt. Liquid pooled between her legs. Justin hovered her other breast and Nicole felt his breath tease over her flesh, felt her nipples pucker under his touch, felt herself edge closer to him. "Happy Birthday to me…" he whispered jokingly. He paused for a second, hovering anticipation, then he sort of attacked her, sucking and licking, nipping and pulling while Nicole's breasts tingled and ached.
"Good at what?" he said, voice hoarse. His fingers working over her satin panties and pursed his lips and blew a hot stream over her wet nipples. "Ohhh." she whimpered. "With your mouth…your tongue."
"We are just getting started." he stated. "Wrap your legs around me. Please." He wanted her closer, right against him, in his arms. Without hesitation, she lifted her legs and wrapped them around him, pressing her wet panties against his belly, full breasts against his chest. Justin closed his eyes for a split second as he held her. Longing nearly killing him. She felt…perfect in his arms. A soft warm woman. His woman…at least for the night.
Nicole's hair tickled his shoulder as she ran her lips over his jaw. "Get me to bed Timberlake." she cooed. Goosebumps rose on her skin and she gave a light shiver. With a soft laugh, she explained. "I' am a little cold."
Personally, he felt like he was on fire, but he didn't want her uncomfortable. "Whatever my baby wants." he said half jokingly. Walking toward the bedroom, with Nicole still in his arms. He swung the bedroom door open, and gently dropped Nicole onto the big, neat and tidy bed. He stood about a foot in front of her, eyes running over the length of her. Justin was staring at her, with that look in his eyes that made her shiver with delight, anticipation and fear all at the same time. It still amazed her how he could wake all those feeling with a simple look
"Your so fucking beautiful Nicole." he told her. "Looking at your right now, is better than any birthday cake." he told her, licking his lips. He unsnapped the button of his jeans and winked. "The birthday boy likes what he sees." Pulling his shirt over his head.
Nicole rolled her eyes but giggled. "I believe its no longer your birthday."
He yanked his jeans off and came toward her in his boxer briefs. "Fuck that, we'll pretend it still my birthday." Before she had a chance to speak, he tumbled her onto the white covers. Suddenly she was looking at the ceiling. He kissed her with an intensity that had her breathing hard and easing her legs apart, wanting closer contact with him. His erection was along her thigh, thick and enticing, while his tongue moved with determined thrusts.
Nicole held on to his smooth back, loving the way he felt, the way he touched her with determination and desire. She moaned as his fingers moved around her ass. Justin's hand then slipped between her thighs, gliding over and coming to rest precisely where she had hoped he would. She fought the urge to squirm, but couldn't contain a groan when his thumb started to move up and down, stroking through the lace of her panties. He groaned in appreciation. "Is this what you wanted? Hmm. Damn your so wet already."
Her eyes rolled back and she gave a heartfelt moan of encouragement. "Take them off birthday boy."
He chuckled. "Take what off?" Easing his boxer briefs off. "I thought it was no longer my birthday?"
"Hmm. For the purpose of what I want from you- it can be your birthday for the rest of the week." she murmured. "My panties. Take them off." Lifting her hips up as he did what she asked and slipped them off.
Nicole was just reacting, sighting with pleasure when he was already pulling back he had pulled her to the edge of the bed, and he dropped to his knees on the rug, between her legs, face level with her breasts. He just stared at her, inspecting every visible inch of her body. Feeling exposed, yet desperately excited, she let him see her, study her.
He sucked her nipple, licked the under-swell of her breast and moved to the other, Justin wedged closer between her legs, forcing her thighs apart, until his ribs came in contact with her soft down hair, brushing over him. She made a sound in the back of her throat, that had his body throbbing in anticipation. Yet, he wasn't done tasting, and teasing and as he continued to suck and pull on her dusky rose nipple, he ran his thumbs along the outside of her naked thighs. Down around to the tip of her backside, dangling over the edge of the bed. He stroked over her cheeks, skirting forward back, forward again, avoiding the middle of her thighs, desire thick in his mouth.
Her legs started to shift restlessly, her nails sinking even deeper into the muscle in his back. Both their breathing quickness and her head went left and right, tipped back, when he glanced up at her. The sight of her teeth buried in her bottom lip, sent a jolt through him and he let his own teeth sink into her nipple, Nicole moaned, and Justin squeezed her ass, griping hard. This is what he been wanting all day. And there was no way he was going to just let this moment get away. Hell no.
"Get up baby." he ordered. She obediently did what he asked and he flipped her deftly, bending her over the edge of the bed. He dropped to his knees behind her and Nicole whimpered feeling the pulsing head against her entrance. He grunted as he rubbed himself in her wetness before sliding in. Nicole gripped the sheets as entered her slowly from behind, his thickness pushing her apart as he held on to her hip. She held her breath, waiting for it, the unhurried movement as he pulled his cock out to the perfect position where her clit responded best. She gasped and he knew he hit the mark
Slowly he fucked her, thrusting back in, deeply. A nice methodical rhythm, a bit frustrating at first, soon turning to transcendence as she tightened around him. He bit her neck as he moved against her; his hand on the flat of her stomach, his fingers close to her pussy, causing a stir that signaled he had again hit his mark.
"That's right baby. I want to feel you squeeze around my dick."
She breathed through her teeth, his whispers triggering pants as he kept his slow rhythm. It was always then, for a split second, that she thought she wouldn't make it, and then he thrust hard and deep and she went into free fall. He stroked faster, getting lost in her wetness.
She brought her hand around the back of his neck and held onto him, taking everything…loving it.
"You feel so good Nicole. So fucking good." he stated through gritted teeth.
"Hmmmm…." she hummed. "Right there J…" His hips smacking into hers brutally, her stomach tightening.
"Right there baby? You like that?" he asked. "You like the way my dick feels deep inside of you? Hmm?"
"Oh god…" she panted, feeling it build and build. She was so fucking close. "Holy fucking shit, Justin…" A low whimpering noise leaving her lips as
"Uh-uh. We're not done yet girl." he stated. "Nicole…" "Whaaaat," she groaned. "Look at me." "You're behind me." "Turn your head." He looked into her glazed eyes. That's what he wanted to see. He wanted to see her. He leaned down and kissed her hard as he continued to take her. His hands back her hips, as he continued pound deep into her. God, he was good. "Mmm." she tried to catch her breath. He moved in and out of her. It had been so long, since she had something like this feel so good. And damn, he was the only one that could cause it. And she loved it. She shivered hard as he thrust into her. She couldn't breath as he worked her hard and deep.
"J-Justin." she stammered, letting out a shaky breath. "Oh god."
"Fuck…Nicky…holy shit," he moaned, hands moving to her hips again, pulling her back against him roughly.
"I don't think I can handle this." she moaned, her head falling forward and as she panted hard, wanting to let that feeling go, he grunted loudly, before groaning deep, knowing he was close. His hand snaked down around her warm hip and she knew where his fingers were going and she didn't think she could handle it.
"Just let it go," he whispered, knowing she was there. Again.
His slid his fingers between her throbbing folds. She panted loudly, then moaned his name, and before she had a chance to stop herself , she let out a scream, falling to her elbows. Nicole's entire body convulsing, every muscle tingling and tightening. She couldn't breath. She couldn't talk. All she could do was listen to him moan as his hips eagerly pumped into hers.
"Holy shit Nicole." collapsing against her, coating her wet and warm deep inside of her as his hips rocked slightly against hers.
Neither said a word or moved an inch for a while. They were spent. Nicole shut her eyes, letting out a pleased sigh.
"I don't think I can move." he whispered He was completely wrapped around her body…still inside her…she closed her eyes.
"Mmm. Then don't." she said in a low voice. "Because I sure as hell cant."
~~~~~~
The next morning…
Nicole rolled onto her stomach, opening her eyes and blinking a few times as she adjusted to the bright sun shinning through the hotel's window. She let out a sleepy sigh, and rested her cheek on the pillow. 9:43AM . That was what the alarm clock read on the dresser. Wow, she had only been asleep for three and half hours. She shut her eyelids again, wishing she hadn't woken up just yet. She was exhausted.
She opened her eyes again when she heard the shower running. She pouted when she realized Justin had left the bed and that he was the one in the shower. The pout slowly turned into a silly grin as the events from the night before came rushing back to her. He had kept his promise and worked her out. More than once, or twice…
She continue to grin like a silly school girl, as she shut her eyes again. Oh yeah, it had defently had been worth the wait. And she was going to be sore. She could already feel it. They hadn't been able to keep their hands off each other. When five rolled around, they continued to touch and kiss. The kissing going on until they fell asleep around 6. It had felt like she had been dragged into one of those romantic movies. Only better.
Once again her eyes flew open, but this time it had to do with the noise on the other side of the room. It sounded like voices. Male voices. Trace's voice, and another voice that sounded much like Paul-Justin's step-dad.
"He's probably still asleep." Trace said in a rather loud and warning voice.
Nicole quickly sat up. She knew Trace was trying to his best to stall. "Shit." she thought, quickly tossing the sheets on the floor to get out of bed. "Fuck!" she cursed under her breath. She was still naked. Without thinking she opened the bathroom door, and shut it behind her as she pressed her naked back to it. This couldn't not be happening.
Justin opened the shower door open. Sticking his head out. "Nic-"
But Nicole put a finger to her lips. "Shh." Before Justin had a chance to speak, there was light tap on the door. He glanced back at Nicole wide eyed. She mouthed. "Its your dad."
"Justin?" came his dad's voice. "Are you still up for the golf course?"
Justin looked back over at Nicole really looking at her that time, grinning, as his eyes roamed up and down her body. She looked absolutely lickable, her naked body pressed against the door, her bed hair. Yep, she looked so damn cute and sexy at the same time. He licked his lips.
"Uh… yea…" he called out, his eyes roaming up and down Nicole's body. "Give me fifteen minutes!" he yelled out. He licked his lips once again. Fuck, just looking at her was getting him hard again. He wanted her again. "Make that 30 minutes!" Grinning at her.
"Okay, then me and Trace will meet you downstairs." Paul responded.
"Sounds good."
A few moments went by and he faintly heard a door close. He watched Nicole let out a sigh of relief, and relaxed against the door. "Okay. That would have been bad." she told him. Justin smirked. She wrinkled her nose at him. "What? Why are you smirking?" she asked him. "Do you realize what just almost happened?"
"But it didn't." he reasoned. "Now get over here."
"Justin!" she said in a exasperated voice.
"Nicole!" he mocked back. "Girl, you better get your ass over here right now." he demanded with a raised eyebrow. " I told him thirty minutes." he stated.
Nicole narrowed her eyes at him and ignored his demand. "Do you not care that your dad almost caught-"
"You naked?" he offered with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
"Haha. I was going to say together." she said, making a face at him. "But he didn't." Justin stated. "Babeee…." he whined. "Get over here." pointing at the shower. Nicole didn't move. Justin narrowed his eyes at her. "Now." he ordered.
Nicole glared over at him, but locked the door behind her. "On one condition."
"What?"
She walked toward him, standing face to face. Her stomach fluttering at the sight of him. "Stop giving everyone the damn key to your room." she said jokingly.
Justin chuckled lightly. "Deal." he wrapped one his wet arms around her naked waist. "Now get in here. We got thirty minutes before I have to met up with my Trace and my dad." Pulling her into the shower with him. He closed the shower door once she was fully in the shower with him. She let out a small squeak as the water ran down her back.
She laughed and it echoed through the bathroom walls. "Are you being serious? I don't think I've fully regained my energy from last night." she told him.
"You better get it back right now then." Justin told her. "Because you are going to need it." Pressing her body to his wet one.
"Justin-" she sighed.
Justin pressed his mouth to hers. "Shh. We have to make use of our thirty minutes." squeezing her ass cheeks. Nicole moaned then giggled into his mouth. He then added jokingly. "That's all I got baby."
Chapter 16 Almost Doesnt Count January 2007
Trace shook his head and let out a small laugh as he leaned against the bedroom door of Justin's tour bus. "What the fuck did you do to her last night?" "What the hell are you talking about…" Justin asked trailing off when he reached Trace. He let out a small chuckle when he followed Trace's gaze toward his bed. "I don't blame her. That's exactly what I want to be doing." He couldn't hide the smile as he kept his gaze on her. She was curled into a small ball on his bed, her cheek pressed against one of his pillows. He felt Trace elbow him. "You do realize you look like a damn idiot right now." Justin frowned, glancing over at him. "What?" Trace smirked. "You were grinning like a damn fool." he teased, shaking his head. "Whatever." Justin mumbled, looking back at Nicole. Trace rolled his eyes. "Yea, whatever." he turned on his heels, then stopped, glancing over his shoulder at Justin. "Any more of your shit left back at the hotel?" Justin shook his head. "I brought the last of it." "Good. We can finally head out." Justin nodded. "Good. That means I can take a nap on the drive to the airport." He stated, narrowing his eyes at Trace. "Alright, alright. I get the hint." Trace stated, giving him a light shove on the arm. "Fucker." he mumbled. "Try and keep it quiet." he joked. Justin rolled his eyes. "Are you getting the fuck out or not?" Glancing down as his pit-bull Brennan snuck into the room, making herself comfortable at the edge of the bed. Justin narrowed his eyes down at her. Trace turned again on his heels, but not before flipping him off as Justin shut the door behind him. Justin turned back around to Nicole, the smile returning to his face. Fuck it, he knew Trace was right. He knew he looked like a damn idiot, but for some reason he didn't care. Not when what he wanted was right there. Looking peaceful and innocent. Last night had been amazing. Just the both of them. Alone. No interruptions. It was strange, but it felt as if they hadn't been apart. It felt right. Having Nicole in his arms had felt right. But it had gone beyond the physical. They had laid in bed hours later talking, and just kissing, and touching… He quietly made his way toward his bed, not wanting to wake her before they got to the airport. He was headed to Washington, while Nicole had to fly back to L.A. He had tried to get her to stay with him for a few extra days, but she had to get back to work. He sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing the top of Brennan's head as he slipped his shoes off. Brennan barked in appreciation. Justin wrinkled his nose. "Shh. Nicky is sleeping." he whispered. Brennan lifted herself up, glancing at the bed. She barked again. Justin leaned down. "Bre." he warned. He watched as his dog continued to eye the bed. Almost in a glare. Brennan barked again, then growled. "I'll take you outside if you don't be quiet." he threaten. "Its Nicky. Not some stranger." But Brennan didn't seem to care. She growled again, eyeing Nicole. Justin glanced between Nicole and his dog. He chuckled. "Are you jealous of Nicky?" "Who's jealous?" he heard Nicole's groggy voice ask. He looked over his shoulder at her. He smiled. He had come to the conclusion that she could never look bad, even if she tried. That moment was no exception. He couldn't help but think she looked cute with her bed hair. "I think Bre is." Justin stated, rubbing on Brennan's ears before crawling toward Nicole. Nicole hugged the pillow next to her, and said in a sleepy voice. "Of who?" "Of you." Justin said, moving a strand of hair away from her face as he laid himself next to her. "She just has this look on her face that screams 'back off.'" he said with a small laugh. Nicole lifted her head from the bed. "Bre, I swear all I want to do is sleep." she said to the dog. "You can have the bed as soon as I'm gone." yawning, as she sat up, lightly tapping on the bed, and gesturing Brennan to join them on the bed. The dog obediently made her way on to the bed, wagging her tongue. Nicole gently rubbed the back of Brennan's ear. "And you have nothing to worry about. You know you are his girl." she said to the dog. "He's yours." She glanced over at Justin. "I've just been borrowing him for the past day or so." grinning. Justin only chuckled. Nicole yawned again. "Besides' you're the only one that can keep him in line while I'm not around." giggling when Brennan licked her face. "You are such a good girl." Nicole gushed. She turned to look back at Justin. "Its moments like these when I start to miss Jinx." glancing back at the dog as it jumped off the bed. "I hate that he is so far away." a small pout on her lips as she laid back down, facing Justin as she hugged the pillow again. "I don't know why you didn't bring him along when you moved to LA." Nicole closed her eyes for a second, wrinkling her nose. "Because I cant give him the attention that he deserves. At least back in Shelby he can run around. I would feel more guilty if I had him, sometimes I feel like I don't have anytime for me. Let alone a dog." she opened her eyes, a small smile tugging on her lips, as she caught him starring at her. "What?" He blinked. "What, what?" he asked. She poked his side. "You were just starring. Did you hear anything I said?" Justin sighed then answered. "Not really." Nicole gently smacked him on the arm. "Ow!" he exclaimed with a short laugh, quickly taking a hold of her arm, leaning into her. "Don't you know you're a distraction?" Planting a gently kiss on her lips. Those butterflies fluttering in his stomach. "Shut up." she murmured into his mouth, sliding her arms around his neck. It was moments like these when she truly got to be with him, she sometimes felt like that fifteen year old girl. That girl who had been crazy in love with him. He broke from her kiss, and nestled his face into the hollow of her neck, breathing in her soft smell. "Mmm, I don't want to go back to work…" she moaned, gently rubbing the top of his shave head. "Then don't." Justin murmured into the hollow of her neck. "You can stay with me." She snorted back a laugh. "Right." Justin lifted his head a bit and narrowed his eyes. "I'm not joking Nic." "I know your not." she told him with a small smile. "But we both know I cant." she paused. "Besides after awhile I'll start to drive you crazy-and vise-versa." closing her eyes once again. "You drive me crazy now." he joked. "But if you end up on the road with me, I'll get laid a lot more." planting a kiss on her forehead. Nicole opened her eyes and glared at him. "Keep talking that way and you'll be taking care of it yourself buddy." she threaten. "Get off!" she exclaimed, as he nestled his face back into the hollow of her neck. Completely ignoring her demand. He loved being able to piss her off. He loved seeing the look in her eyes whenever he pissed her off. It made his time with her, more fun. "No." was all Justin said into the hollow of her neck. It still amazed him how easily they fell back to acting like a couple. There was no asking questions, it just happen. Every time was the same and he was okay with it. Nicole's dropped her arms from around his neck. "Get off me you pervert. Let me go back to sleep." She shivered as Justin's hot breath tickled her ear when he chuckled. "Get off." she repeated, yet found herself shutting her eyes again. Damn, she was tired, she hadn't realized how much until she crawled into Justin's bed. Now all she wanted for the next 12 hours or so was sleep. He wasn't fully on top of her, but just enough that his chest was pressed firmly into hers. "No." Justin murmured lifting his head, and kissing her, then kissing her again, and again, leisurely exploring her neck and collarbone before rising to meet her lips once again. Nicole moaned in appreciation, her body relaxing against the sheets. She raised her arms again, running her hands over his chest and shoulders, feeling the strength in his arms. She shivered once again when he buried his fingers in her hair. "J…" she murmured into his mouth. "What baby?" "I really do hate you sometimes." she whispered, breaking from his lips. "No, you don't." Nicole wrinkled her nose, before locking eyes with him. "Yea I do." She felt her heart flutter when his gaze didn't falter. "Just a little." she admitted trying to hide her smile as he snorted in amusement. "Get off so I can go back to sleep." she whined. Wincing a bit, feeling the ache down to her toes. She groaned. "Mmm, you know what sounds good right now?" deciding to not fight him anymore. She really didn't have the energy for it. Justin kissed the tip of her nose. "What?" before finally rolling off, and laying next to her. "A nice warm bubble bath." she stated. "Lots of bubbles…" closing her eyes again. "And candles. A lot of them." she licked her lips. Justin leaned back in. He couldn't help it. She was like a magnet. He couldn't seem to stay away from her. "Sounds nice baby." he murmured, moving a strand of her hair away from her face. Maybe the reason he felt compelled to be so close to her was because at one point it felt as if he had lost her- not just him, but everyone that cared about her. Not once, but twice. But thankfully that was now in the past. She was now healthy. Hopefully for good. She looked back at him and smiled. "It does doesn't it?" "Yeah." he said, giving her a peck on the lips. He couldn't stop starring. "You should do that when you get back to LA." he gave her a small smile. "And imagine me there with you…" he said trailing off. His eyes never leaving her face. Nicole laughed. "Yea right. To do that I need time, and I don't have that." He must have been starring deep, because Nicole waved a hand in front of his face. "Hey, are you okay?" Justin blinked back to reality. He hadn't meant to stare so hard, but the events of the past couple of months had come rushing back to him. It had been months ago, but sometimes it felt like it had just happen. But at least the second time around, Nicole had been a little more prepare- or as prepare as anyone could be when finding out that there had been a relapse. "I've missed this Nicky." he said, ignoring her question. It was weird, when they had found out about her relapse, he had been with Cameron, so apart of him knew he couldn't give Nicole the attention he wanted to give her. He could have, but he knew it would not have set good with Cameron. And he couldn't blame her. "Don't ignore the question. What's wrong?" Justin kissed her again. "Nothing." Nicole broke from his kiss, shaking her head. "Don't tell me nothing Timberlake. I know you better than that." Wrinkling her nose at him. He stroked her cheek, swallowing. "The past couple of months sort of came rushing back…" trailing off. Nicole did not need to ask what he was talking about. She knew. "It's been 4 months J." she paused. "Everything is good." Leaning in and kissing him sweetly on the lips, tugging on his shirt. Justin let out a long sigh. "I know….I guess-" "You guess what? Everything is good baby. I'm still here aren't I?" smiling at him, and letting go of his shirt. He chuckled lightly. Running his fingers through her hair. "You are. And that's all that matters…" he stated, kissing her cheek. He shut his eyes, taking in the moment. Maybe he was overdramatic, but he did not care. He knew what it was like to almost lose her-for good. "Good." she said smiling. He knew right there to drop the conversation. Nicole was not the type to let others feel sorry for her. She made that clear when she got diagnose. "You know what you should with me?" she asked him yawning. "What's that baby girl?" He hadn't called her that in years. She must have picked up on it because she grinned up at him and said. "You haven't called me that in so long. It's nice to hear you say it." Justin moved closer to her and she rolled slightly, her back to him as he wrapped one arm around the slim of her waist. Justin rested his chin on her shoulder and asked. "What do you want me to do with you?" Nicole looked over her shoulder at him and stated. "Sleep." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2007 Two weeks later… Justin couldn't help but smile as he followed Nicole by stepping out of the car. Nicole glanced over her shoulder at him, with a curious look. "What are we doing here?" she asked him. Shutting the passanger seat door. "Who lives here?" she asked. Glancing back at the beautiful cottage in front of her as Justin made his way toward her. "No one actually." Justin replied, reaching out for her hand. "C'mon we should probably head inside. It looks like its about to start raining." Nicole opened her mouth to speak as she let Justin lead her to the front door of the house. She really did not know what was going on. He had surprised her by showing up at her job, even though she hadn't been expecting him until the next morning. And now instead of heading home like he had told her, they stood in front of a house she didn't know, but at the same time she could see herself living there. She hated him sometimes. He knew her too well. "Justin?" she said instead, watching him unlock the door. "What are you doing?" Justin grabbed her hand again. "You ask too many questions baby." he teased, leading her inside, and shutting the door behind him. She wrinkled her nose. She didn't want to burst his bubble with whatever he had plan. But she really was not in the mood for surprises. She was tired, stressed and exhausted and all she really wanted to do was crawl underneath her covers and have a good cry. She blinked and swallowed back her tears. She wasn't going to cry, not in front of Justin. He did not need to see her crying, especially when there wasn't a real reason. It was just one of those days Nicole couldn't explain even if she tried. And she didn't want to. Especially to Justin. She would look like a damn idiot. Justin must have sense something was wrong, because he stepped closer to her. "What's wrong?" he asked. Nicole swallowed back the tears, shaking her head. "Nothing." not making any eye contract. After a few moments of silence, she said for the second time. "What are we doing here?" Justin knew something was not right. He reached out for her. "Come here." was all he said as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. She pressed her cheek against his chest, letting out a small sigh. She blinked back her tears for what seemed the hundred time that day. Justin didn't say anything, as he kissed the top of her head. He knew better than to continue pushing for an answer. "Come on, lets go upstairs." he whispered into her hair. She sniffed lightly. "J-I really-"she protested, lifting her head to meet his gaze. He gave her a small smile. "Just come upstairs with me." he paused for a split second. "Trust me." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nicole let Justin drag her up the stairs of the amazing house. "Why are you doing this?" she whined when Justin opened one of the doors that led into a bedroom. "I'm sorry Justin, but maybe today was not the day for you to surprise me." she told him honestly. Justin lead her into the large furnished room. Yep, she really hated him sometimes. The room was everything she could ever dream about in a house. Lately she had began tinkering with the idea of buying a home of her own. But at the end, she wasn't sure if she wanted any more stress in her life. She felt like she had enough of that right now. Yet, she couldn't help but look around the room. The room looked like it was taken out of a homes magazine page, with the light colors and large comfortable bed and the large windows with the breathtaking view of the beach…. Justin let go of her hand and asked. "What do you think?" "Its great J. But I don't understand why you've brought me here. I mean who lives here?" she asked as he took a step closer to her, wrapping his arms around the slim of her waist. She looked up at him with a wrinkle of her nose but didn't say a word. He pulled her close, lightly pressing his forehead against hers, locking eyes with her. She knew what he wanted. He wanted for her to tell him what was wrong. She murmured. "I'm fine." Justin chuckled lightly under his breath. "Okay, I'm not going to push it." he paused for a moment. "But you know what you need?" A good cry? She thought to herself. Instead she asked in a whisper. "What?" A small grin appeared on his face as he replied. "A nice warm bubble bath…" moving to kiss the top of her head. "With lots and lots of bubbles right? And candles?"
Chapter 17 HalfCrazy
2007
Before the Golden Globes…
Justin lightly tapped on the back door of Nicole's house that Sunday afternoon. "Its unlocked!" came Nicole's voice. Justin turned the door knob and stepped into the kitchen, his stomach suddenly growling when his nose took in the smell of food. He smiled to himself. She was cooking. He closed the door behind him, not moving for a few moments as he watched her.
She was only a few feet away, her back to him. He licked his lips sensually as his eyes traveled down to her tight little ass covered in a pair of his designer William Rast jeans. They fit her perfectly. His smile grew wider as he walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder. "Hey…." he whispered, placing a sweet kiss on her cheek.
Nicole stopped slicing her vegetables for a split second as she smiled up at him. "Hi." Relaxing easily into his arms. His stomach growled again and Nicole giggled. "You hungry baby?"
Justin kissed her cheek again. "Yea." he answered, giving her cheek another peck. "Mmmm. What are you making?"
"Coconut shrimp with orange mustard sauce. I found the recipe in a cooking book. I wanted to try it out. Its almost ready." Nicole told him, going back to slicing tomotoes on the cutting board.
Justin nuzzled the back of her ear with his nose. "Sounds good." Planting a small kiss behind her ear. "Mmm…" he murmured.
Nicole let out a small giggle. "Babe… if you want to eat you need to let go…" turning her head slightly, their mouths now only inches away. Her smile grew wider as she locked eyes with him. "You are so cute." she blurted out with a cheesy smile on her face, putting down the knife.
Justin grinned back, leaning in to plant a kiss on her lips. "I know." he answered back.
"And cocky." she said, breaking away from his mouth.
He leaned back in, capturing her lips again. "I know." He heard her chuckle lightly against his mouth at his response. She slowly turned herself around, breaking from his lips for a split second, sandwich between Justin and the kitchen counter. "But you like me this way." he said into her mouth.
Nicole wrapped her arms around his neck. "Just a little. Yes." she answered back, relaxing into his arms, and getting lost in his kisses again. Lately, she'd let herself get lost with him. And she was okay with it. For the first time in years, she felt like things could truly develop between them again. Every other time it felt like a movie they were in and all they were doing was acting a part, but this time it felt different.
For the past 3 days they had been inseparable. After their quiet night together in that beautiful house, Justin had convinced her to stay with him at his house. Nicole had been hesistant, pointing out to him, if she ended up staying with him, their friends and family would begin to wonder why they were spending so much time together.
Justin had leaned in kissing the top of her head and whispered. "Let them think what they want."
Justin gave her lower lip a light nip before breaking from her lips, pressing his forehead against hers. "My mom keeps asking whats going on…" Justin told her, with a grin on his face. "Its driving her nuts." chuckling lightly. Nicole only gave him a small frown. Justin slipped his arms around her waist, pressing himself closer to her. "It's pretty amusing actually…" he mused out loud, rubbing the small of her back gently.
She wrinkled her nose. "Amusing to you. And since they cant get anything out of you-guess who they will be pushing for answers?" she asked him.
"They?"
Nicole nodded. "Hmm, hmm. 'They' meaning your mom and mine." she let out a small moan as his hip pressed into hers. "Because my mom knows…well maybe not knows, knows, but I know she knows something."
Justin squeezed one of her ass cheeks. She gasped "Babe? Your babbling." he teased.
She frowned. "I wouldn't be if you kept your hands to yourself." she said defensively.
Justin leaned back into her, his hands resting on each side of her. Nicole's body still trapped in between him and the counter. "Don't give me that shit. I know you like it." Taking hers lips again. "And if you don't- well I like it…" he said teasingly, cuping her face with his free hand.
Nicole eyes flutter shut for a split second, relaxing against the counter as he continue to kiss her into oblivion. She couldn't help but think how good he was at that. Kissing her- when he kissed her she could forgot about everything else. He broke from her lips, brushing a small kiss on her cheek. She looked up at him, biting on her lower lip before speaking. "So…" she started, placing her thumb on his lower lip.
He flicked his tongue out for a brief second. "Yeah?" he asked.
Nicole kept her gaze locked up at him as she spoke again, her voice almost a whisper. "When they start asking me questions…" biting her lower lip again. "What exactly do you want me to say?" she finished, feeling her cheeks burn just a bit.
Justin gave her a small grin before pressing his forehead against hers. "What do you want to say?" he asked curiously.
Nicole wrinkled her nose. "I asked you first." she stated. Justin chuckled lightly. He should have known he wasn't going to get an answer out of her so easily. Or at least the answer he was hoping for.
"How fair is that?" he stated , raising his eyebrow at her.
"Pretty fair." Nicole replied simply as Justin pressed himself even closer to her. "What are you doing?"she asked him with a smirk. Yet, secretly enjoying him so close. It made every part of her body tingle with anticipation.
"Nothing." he murmured, bending down and nuzzling the back of her neck. "Mmmm, you smell good Nicky." he informed her. There was a long pause before Justin spoke again. "As for what I want you to say…" he started, kissing the back of her earlobe.
Nicole's eyes flutter shut for a split second. "Hmm?"
"If they ask-then tell them that you make me happy." he whispered in her ear. "That I love having you to talk to, to touch and kiss… That I have loved waking up next to you…." He couldn't help himself. She was making him feel like a teenage boy. For the first time in a long time, he felt like things could be different between them this time around. If he played his cards right.
He broke away and locked his gaze on her face. Nicole grinned. "Seriously J, what do you want me to say?"
Justin brushed her lips with his for what seemed the thousand time. "Seriously?" he asked her. He didn't wait for her to reply instead he said. "I' am being serious." he answered simply. "All they need to know is…you make me happy." grinning down at her. "Really, really happy." he finished wiggling his eyebrows at her.
Nicole closed her eyes, shaking her head slightly, chuckling. "We both know that wont be a good enough answer."
"I know." Justin said, he wrapped his arms around her waist again. "But to be honest- they don't have to know all the details." She nodded. She knew he was right. It really wasn't anyones business to know what was going on between them. They shouldn't have to explain. Especially when she was not sure herself. All she knew was that the past couple of days had been amazing. Just her and him. No one else. "What are you thinking?" he asked interrupting her thoughts.
Nicole blinked back to reality. "What?"
He tilted his head, smiling. "I asked, what are you thinking?"
She shrugged. "Nothing." He raised his eyebrow at her. Nicole rolled her eyes. "Fine." she sighed. "I was thinking that you are right, we shouldn't have to give explantions…because it will lead to more questions that we don't have the answers to." she finished.
"Such as?"
Nicole licked her lips nervously. "Such as: how long has this has been going on for? And why hadn't it been shared sooner? And-"
"And does this mean we are together?" Justin offered with a knowing smile.
"Right, and that will lead to even more questions."
"Hmm." Justin said with a nod of his head. "Yea. That just leads to expectations for your mom and mine…"
"Yes." was all Nicole said.
Justin bend down, his mouth inches from hers. "What about you? What expectations do you have?" he asked her. Catching her off guard.
Nicole shook her head slightly, laughing nervously. "Expectations?"
Justin nodded. "Yea. For you and me."
She wrinkled her nose, tilting her head a bit. "What expectations do you have?"
Justin shook his head, chuckling. "I asked first." he repeated. He was curious. He was curious to see if Nicole's expectations were the same as his. Hell, in all honesty, he really didn't know what to expect.
She shook her head, not making eye contact. "I don't know what you want me to say."
He placed his hand underneath her chin, making her look at him. "First, you can start by looking at me." he joked. She only wrinkled her nose. "And second, you can tell me what you think of all of this." he stated, stroking one side her cheek with his thumb.
Nicole was silent, chewing on her lower lip What she thought? She really didn't have an answer. She looked up at him letting out a small sigh. "I honestly don't know the type of answer you want." He opened his mouth to respond, but Nicole quickly continued. "But if anyone were to ask me…I'm not going to lie. I don't want to hide it…" she told him trailing off.
Justin grinned down at her. "Good. Because I don't either." he said.
"Yeah?"
He nodded. "Yeah." he paused for a second. "I want us to take this at our own pace…" he told her."I don't want everyone in our business…but at the same time I don't want to keep it a secret…whatever this is."
"So we're on the same page?" she asked, looking up at him through her lashes. She felt like letting out a sigh of relief, hearing him say that. Because even though things seemed to be going along good, she knew it was better to not put any type of label on it. She continued. "I mean I don't want to…" she trailed off.
Justin pressed his forehead against hers. "Babe-we're on the same page." he assured her.
Nicole could only grinned up at him, wrapping her arms around his neck, planting a small kiss on his throat. "You know its still not going to be enough…" she whispered. She felt the vibration of his chuckle on her lips.
"I know." he answered. "But it's all they need to know." pressing her body closer to his. Feeling the heat between them. Sometimes he felt like she was a magnetic force he couldn't get away from, and he was completely okay with it. He let out a small grunt, when she grinded slowly up against him. "All of a sudden food is the last thing on my mind." he muttered into her ear. Nicole pressed her cheek into his chest, exhaling deeply. "But I have other things on my mind…" he said into her hair. Feeling every inch of his body react to her body so close.
Nicole looked up at him. "What about lunch?"
"I thought you said it was almost done?" he asked, rubbing the small of her back.
"It is."
Justin planted both of his hands on her ass. "Good." letting his hands squeeze on her for a moment as he continued. "We can eat after…" he brushed his lips against her forehead.
"Mmmkay." tightening her arms around him, nuzzling her face in neck. Justin glanced over her shoulder, letting his hands drop from her ass and moving the knife she had been using to the sink, then moving the cutting board to the other end of the counter. His hands fell on each side of her hips quickly and lifted her up to the counter. Nicole moved her face from his neck, and quickly wrapped her ankles around his waist, leaning down to meet his lips in a deep kiss. She broke from his lips and said jokingly. "I'm glad we had this conversation." giggling when he tickled her sides.
"Hey. We talk." Justin said defensively with a light pout. "We balance it out with the sex." he said in a serious voice.
Nicole snorted back her laughter and said. "Okay. I'll make sure to tell Lynn that."
Justin frowned. "You are such a comedian baby." tickling her sides again, as she giggled. He stopped for a split second, locking eyes with hers. "Its going to be different this time." he thought to himself, pressing his cheek against hers. He wanted it to be different. This time it wasn't just the rebound sex that he was used to or looking for. This time, he was looking for it to last. Truly last.
"I try." Nicole shot back, looking up at him through her lashes.
Justin made a face at her, mocking her. "Hahaha." leaning back down. "Shut up and let me kiss you." he ordered.
"Uh, excuse me? Who made you the boss of me?" she snapped teasingly, moving her face, so his lips brushed against her cheek instead.
Justin chuckled but replied. "Don't play dumb with me. I know for a fact that you like it when I can boss you around…especially in bed." cupping her face with one of his hands, and making her face him. He licked his lower lip before gently nipping on hers, tangling his fingers in her hair as he pulled her body to his.
"You are such a jerk sometimes." Nicole stated into his mouth, moaning when his lips collapsed with hers. But Justin wasn't listening to her anymore. He continue to kiss her, hard, massaging the back of her scalp as his lips devoured Nicole's. Nicole broke away just enough to state in a low whisper. "Mmm…and for the record- I don't let you boss me around." Emphasing on the word "let."
Justin chuckled. "You don't?"
"No." she said simply. "I let you believe you can boss me around." moaning the last part as Justin's lips brushed along her jaw line. She gasped when he gently pulled her hips closer to him, his hands planted underneath her ass, his hands gently squeezing. "What are you doing?" she managed to ask, feeling the similar sensation between her legs.
"We are about to find out who is the boss." he half-joked. She frowned at him, but Nicole slid closer to him, wrappng her legs around his waist, and wrapping her arms around his neck. Justin let out a small grunt as he slid his arms around her waist, lifting her completely off the kitchen counter and into his arms.
"Where are we going?" she asked him, letting her eyes flutter shut as her belly rubbed against his growing erection.
Justin planted his hands behind the small of her back, pressing her deeper into his body, as he made his way out of the kitchen and down the long hall. "To bed." he stated. He stopped when he reached her bedroom door, he placed one hand underneath her ass, and used the other to open the door then stepping inside with Nicole's legs and arms wrapped tightly around him. He kicked the door shut with the back of his foot, then gently dropped Nicole onto the neat and made bed.
Nicole lifted herself up slightly with her elbows, her eyes locked on him, a mischievous smile tugging on her lips as she blinked innocently at him. "What are you going to do now?" Justin narrowed his eyes at her for a split second. Nicole bit her lower lip. "What?" she asked trying to hide her smile. "Don't look at me that way-" but she was cut short when Justin pounced on her, making her squeal then moan when he placed his leg between hers, lifting her hands over head.
"I'll show you what I'm gonna do." Justin murmured into her mouth, as his hips grinded into hers. "Infact I can show you more than once…" he lifted his head, looking back at her, literally catching his breath. "Dear God Nicole."
Nicole blinked and asked cofused. "What?"
"Do you have any idea how fucking beautiful you are?" he stated, letting go of her arms, his hands slowly sliding down the side of her body. His hands roaming on every inch of her body. "So fucking beautiful." he repeated almost in awe as he crushed his lips against hers. Nicole moaned against his mouth, her legs wrapping themselves around Justin's waist and pressing him closer to her hot body. He broke from her mouth, and buried his face in between her neck and shoulder blade, his lips gently kissing the bare shoulder, as his hands tugged down on the straps of her tank top. Justin's hands stopped moving when he heard the ringing of his phone in his pants.
"Justin-" Nicole started with a small giggle.
With his face still buried in her neck, she heard him say. "Ignore it."
Nicole continue to giggle, lifting her head. "Baby, I cant. Your pants are ringing." rubbing the back of his neck with her hands. Justin lifted his head up, grunting as he stuck his hand into his pants pocket and reached out for his phone. "Answer it." Nicole murmured as it continue to ring.
But Justin wasn't listening. He flipped it open and turned it off, tossing it toward the end of the bed as he smiled widely at her. "There. I'm not ringing anymore." Nicole only shook her head, letting her head fall back. "No more fucking inturruptions." he muttered, as his hands roamed up and inside her tank top. "You arent wearing a bra." he growled in observation, gently squeezing on one of her soft breasts. His fingertips rubbing gently on her now harden nipple.
"I havent left the house. I havent had the need to wear one." she explained. "And besides I knew you were coming over." she finished in a low whisper. With his hand still under her tank top, Justin pressed his lips on the top of her shoulder, and laughed lightly at her revelation. But his laughter faded when he heard a ringing of a phone.
"What the hell?" he spat out. "I thought I fucking turned it off!" he exclaimed.
"You did." Nicole said. "That's my phone."
Justin quickly lifted his head up and narrowed his eyes at her. "You're not fucking moving." he said sliding his hand out of her tank top. "Let it fucking ring."
Nicole furrowed her eyebrows. "It could be important." The phone continuing to ring.
Justin grinded his hips into hers. "No its not. Trust me. Nothing can be more important than you laying here…" he stop for a brief second and smiled down at her. "See? It stopped." His lips crushing back down on hers. His tongue exploring her mouth. Nicole moaned and lifted her hips frantically wanting some kind of friction. She moaned louder when her covered crotch rubbed against his jeans.
"J-Justin…" she stuttered, all other thoughts leaving her mind as her hot body made a brief contact with his hard body.
"Yea baby?" Justin muttered into her mouth. Nicole only exhaled as his hand slid back into her tank top, his thumb rubbing on her nipple, Nicole squirmed underneath him but arched her back to his touch. Wanting more than just his hands on her breasts…She wanted to feel every part of his hard body pressed hard to hers. "Lets get naked." Justin suggested, his thumb and forefinger pinching her nipple.
Nicole couldn't help but giggle at his statement. "You have such way with words-" but she stopped as her ears picked up the ringing of a phone again. It wasn't his phone or her phone this time. The ringing was coming from the room.
He sighed, and after the third ring he spoke up. "Ignore it." Justin demanded pressing his lips to hers again for a brief moment. "Just pretend you don't fucking hear it." planting light kisses down her jaw, and then down her neck as the phone continue to ring.
"J…that's the house phone." she explained, her eyes fluttering shut feeling his hot breath on her neck.
"So?"
Nicole chuckled. "Babe-"
"They'll give up and leave us the hell alone." Justin concluded, massaging her breasts again as he pressed his erection hard against her tummy. Trying his best to make her forget about the damn phone and concentrate on the task at hand. Which was getting naked.
"Justin…" Nicole started. "Its pretty obvious they are looking for you. There are only a few that have the house number." But she moaned when she felt Justin's hand snake down between her thighs. "Hmm." she purred as the phone continue to ring. Justin only pressed his hard body to hers. His hand aching to touch her. Truly touch her. "J…" she trailed off, licking her lips.
"Shh…" he groaned. "Ignore it." he repeated, sliding his hand out of her shirt, and cupping her face, gently but forcefully making her lock eyes with him. "Just kiss me. Forget about everything else." he whispered, as he bend down and kissed her. The kiss was different. It was sweet. Justin's lips explored her mouth thoroughly and slowly, his tongue touching hers. And right at that moment as he kissed her, there was no one else but them.
Nicole slipped her arms around his neck pressing herself closer to him. Wanting to hold him for the rest of her life. Wanting him to love her as if he knew the world was coming to end. It made every part of her body shake with anticipation and fear all at the same time. The feeling was new, yet at the same time familiar. She broke from his lips, an uneasy smile on her face as she looked up at him.
Justin pressed his lips together, his eyes locked on her face. "What is it?" he asked, knowing there was something on her mind.
Nicole shook her head slightly, and opened her mouth to speak but was beat by the answering machine.
"Nicole?" came Rachael's familiar raspy voice over the answering machine. "I know his ass is there." she stated, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Are you shitting me?" Justin mumbled. "Maybe if we don't pick it up she'll get the damn idea." he muttered under his breath. Burying his face into the hollow of her neck. But it was pretty obvious that wasn't the case when Rachael continue to talk:
"Fine." Rachael started up again. "If he answered his damn phone I wouldn't be leaving messages while he is grinding all up on you-" Justin stiffened up, groaning slightly and slowly rolled himself off, as Nicole quickly reached out for the phone.
"Hello?" Nicole answered innocently, looking down at Justin with a weary look in her eyes. "Oh hi, Rach." she said. There was a long pause, and Justin watched as Nicole chewed on her lower lip. "Yeah. Hold on a second…" hesitantly handing the phone over to Justin.
Justin only sat up, shaking his head no. There was no fucking way he wanted to talk to his cousin right now. The main reason being that she would not be happy with what he would say to her for interrupting. Why was it so fucking hard to have a moment to himself? Without any phone calls or texts or messages? He knew he was acting like a child, but he didn't really care at that moment damn it.
"Will you just talk to her?" Nicole demanded, wrinkling her nose at him. "The sooner you talk to her the sooner we can be left alone again." she reminded him.
Justin let out a sigh. He knew Nicole was right. He took the phone from her and pressed against his ear. "You couldn't just leave me a message on my damn phone?" he demanded. He heard Nicole snort back her laughter next to him. Nicole saw him roll his eyes and let out a sigh as he glanced back at her. "She wants to be put on speaker phone." Justin said.
"I thought she wanted to talk to you?" Nicole asked.
"I thought that too." Justin stated, then adding. "But she likes to be a pain!" saying the last part as loud as he could into the phone before putting her on speaker phone.
"You are such an ass!" came Rachael voice over the speaker phone. "And I'm only calling because you told me to, asshole." she reminded. Nicole could only bit her lower lip to keep from laughing, while Justin rolled his eyes. "Don't fucking roll your eyes at me." Rachael demanded as if she was actually standing in the same room with them.
Justin looked over Nicole and raised an eyebrow before speaking again. "Whats so important that couldn't wait?" he asked
"You know what? Forget it. You can deal with all the pre-award shit-"
Nicole reached out and took the phone from Justin's hand, frowing over at him as she took Rachael off speaker phone. "Rach, its me. You know how he is." Nicole quickly said into the phone, wrinkling her nose at Justin. He rolled his eyes again, as he fell back on the bed, letting his eyes shut as Nicole let out a small laugh before responding to whatever Rachael had just said with: "He has his moments though."
Justin's eyes flew open. "I'm still in the room." he reminded. Nicole looked down at him, giving him a look. "What? I 'am." he said defensively.
Nicole shook her head, sitting up a little bit more as she spoke again. "He can sometimes be a baby." she agreed, not letting her gaze leave his face, a huge smirk on her face. Before Nicole had a chance to speak again, Justin pounced, sliding her all the way down, the phone still on her ear, a small squeal leaving her mouth, as Justin sat himself between her legs.
"A baby huh?" he asked her, with a raised eyebrow. Nicole smiled widely up at him.
"Hello?! I'm still on the phone you perverts!" came Rachaels voice loud and clear. "I do NOT need to hear any of this!"
Justin leaned in, and said into the phone. "Then you shouldn't have called."
Nicole narrowed her eyes at him, his mouth inches from hers. "Don't be a jerk." she said to him.
"Yeah, don't be a jerk." Rachael agreed. Justin opened his mouth to reply, but Nicole gave him a warning look. He frowned slightly before letting out a loud sigh. "You still there?" she asked, the tone of her voice turning business like.
"Yeah." pressing his ear to the phone and his body to Nicole's. Nicole shifted a little underneath him, but didn't move from her position. She was pretty sure they looked ridiculous at that moment. She stiffled her giggles.
"Your suit is going to be dropped off around four thirty." Rachael told him.
"At my place?" Justin asked, still pressed against Nicole.
"Yes." she answered. "Oh, and I was able to get a few dresses for Nic to look at and Alicia will be there at five to do hair and make-up." she added. "The dresses are going to be dropped off at your place as well. The car is supposed to be picking you up around 6:30. I figure you could be one of the last to show up, that way you don't have to do any real interviews and we can rush you right in."
"Perfect. I don't want to talk to anyone."
"That was the plan."
"Anything else?"
"Just be ready at 6:30. Aunt Lynn and I will meet you guys there." she paused. "Oh please try to keep your hands to yourself on the drive there. Cameras are going to be all over the damn place."
"Yeah, yeah."
"I'm serious J. Things with Cameron are still fresh in the press. You guys have been able to keep it pretty friendly. Don't rock the boat." Rachael warned.
"I know."
"Good. That's all I have. Four thirty Justin." she reminded sternly.
Justin looked down at his watch. "It's only one-thirty Rach. Relax. Go shopping or something." he half-joked.
"Don't have time for that right now. But you owe me a new handbag." she joked back. "I had to make few phone calls to get those dresses." Justin laughed. They said goodbye and she hung up. She was a pain sometimes, but she knew what she was doing and he trusted her.
He rolled himself gently and hesitantly off Nicole and watched her place the phone back in its cradle.
"I didn't ask you to get me a dress." turning around to face him, and speaking for the first time in the past five minutes. "I told you I wasn't going." she reminded a hint of annoyance in her voice.
Justin blinked in surprise. "No. You said that if you had to work then you weren't going." he shook his head slightly. "Why are you getting mad for?" he asked.
"I'm not getting mad." she told him defensively.
He slid closer to her. "Your not?"
Nicole shook her head. "No." she said simply. "I told you I wasn't going." she repeated.
Justin sighed, rubbing the back of his head with his hand. Now he was confused. She might not be mad, but it was pretty obvious she was annoyed. He locked eyes with her. "Okay." he started. "You might not be mad but its obviously your annoyed." he observed. And it was also pretty obvious that he was the reason for her annoyance. He wasn't going to mention that part though.
What the hell had just happen?
She broke her gaze from him. "I just don't understand why you didn't bother to ask me." she mumbled more to herself than to him.
"I did ask you!" he exclaimed, getting up from the bed, gazing back down at her.
She glanced up at him. "And I told you I didn't plan on going." she paused. "If you knew that then why did you make Rachael go through all that trouble with the dresses?" she demanded.
"Because I assumed you were going with me since you didn't work today." he shot back. Beginning to feel annoyed himself. Why were they fighting? They weren't supposed to be fighting.
Nicole clinched her jaw, getting up from the bed as well. "Then you assumed wrong." crossing her arms in front of her.
"Are you fucking being serious right now Nicole?" he spat out. "Whats the big deal?"
Nicole glared at him. "Don't get a fucking tone with me Justin." she spat back. Now she was mad. Who the hell did he think he was to talk to her in that way? "I'm going to go check on the food." trying to push past him. But he took ahold of her elbow.
"Whats the big deal?" Justin repeated.
She glanced down where his hand gripped on to her elbow and managed to break from him. "There is no big deal." But it pissed her off to no extend that he was making it into a big deal when she had told him she did not feel like going to the show. She had told him she didn't feel comfortable going to it. And he had done the man thing and brushed it off like it was nothing.
"So your not going with me?" he asked.
"No. I said I wasn't."
He shut his eyes for a split second, trying to understand where this conversation had turned sour. "What about the dresses Rachael got for you to try on?" he asked.
"I didn't ask you to do that." she murmured.
"So this is my fault?" he asked her, his back still to her.
"I didn't say it was Timberlake." she snapped, her arms still crossed in front of her. "But I didn't make you do it. I told you I wasn't going." she paused. "Why are we having the same conversation over and over?" This was getting ridiculous. She wasn't going. Period.
He turned back around to face her. His gaze locking on her pretty face. Where was all this coming from? Twenty minutes before they had been hugging, kissing and joking around. What was the problem with him wanting her to go with him to the award show? Hell, he thought she would be happy to go. But instead she was acting like it was some damn disease going with him. "What the hell is the real issue?" he blurted out.
"There is no real issue. I told you from the beginning I didn't feel comfortable going. I made that clear. But you cant seem to get that through your thick head." she said, pulling the straps of her tank top up.
"I'm not going to beg you to go." he told her.
"Good." she stated. "Then we can drop it. You should probably start getting ready." All she wanted now was for him to leave her alone.
"Are you kicking me out?"
Nicole walked to the bedroom door and opened it for him. "Yes." she responded curtly, with her other hand on her hip.
"What the fuck just happen? Why are you trying to pick a fight?" he asked in confusion and anger. Before she had a chance to respond, he spoke up for her. "I don't even know why I bother asking." walking toward the door.
"What the hell does that mean?" she demanded with a death glare.
"That your absolutely nuts woman." Justin answered without missing a beat. "One moment we are fine and the next you are picking a fight." standing face to face with her. "When you finally figure out what the hell is the issue call me." he said, walking out of the bedroom before she had a chance to respond.
Without looking back at her, he began to walk down the hall that would lead him toward the front door of the house. This is what he wanted? Fighting? One moment they were just fine and the next they were yelling and screaming at each other. He was wrong. She wasn't the crazy one-he was.
"For me to call you later, you'll need your damn phone!" Nicole called out after him.
Justin turned back to look at her. "What the fu-!" Justin exclaimed, as his phone came flying across the hall and toward his head. He ducked quickly and heard her bedroom door slam at the same time his phone literaly splattered on the wooden floors. He rubbed the top of his head and sighed when he saw his phone in pieces. "Great." he yelled. "Just fucking great!"
Chapter 18 Wish You Were Here Present
"What are you doing out here in this weather?" Justin said making his way up the stairs of the back porch of her mom's house. "Its freezing out girl." he stated, standing a few feet away from her.
Nicole glanced up from her book at the sound of his voice. "I didn't hear your car." closing her book and wrapping the blanket tighter around her body. Slowly swinging back and forth on the porch swing. "And its not so bad. You're just a baby." she teased.
Justin zipped his black WilliamRast jacket all the way up. "No. You're just nuts. And I walked over here." placing his hands into the coat pockets. "What are you doing out here?" he repeated. Leaning back against covered porch.
She gave him a weird look. "You walked over here?" she repeated. "And I'm nuts?" she asked him with a shake of her head.
"What? Its only a block." he said defensively. "Its fucking cold and you are sitting out here reading a damn book." he stated in amazement and a shake of his head.
Nicole frowned up at him. "I swear living in LA has made you into such a pussy." she joked. Thanksgiving, and Christmas had come and gone, but Nicole, along with Trace, Rachael and Justin were still in Memphis. It was great to be home for a few days. She sometimes forgot how much Memphis was truly home. "What would your daddy say?" she asked mockingly.
Justin scrunched his nose in a mocking way. "Ha." he said sarcastically, sticking his hand out of the jacket pocket to give her the finger.
"I hope that makes you feel like a man." Nicole retorted with a light smirk, sliding a little to her left as Justin made his way toward the swing, sitting next to her as his feet began to gently move the swing. "What? No comeback?" she asked him teasingly nudging him with her elbow before snuggling more into her blanket.
Justin met her gaze. "I don't even know why I bother."
She grinned widely at him. "I don't know why you do either."
"I don't know why I take the abusement." he murmured loud enough for her to purposely hear.
Nicole continued grinning. "Oh you love it. It wouldn't be the same if I couldn't do it." leaning back against the swing, letting his feet do the moving. "I just don't let you get away with shit like everyone else does." she reminded.
"I don't even know why the hell I came over here for." he said in a hurt tone, yet glaring up at her. His feet still gently moving forward and back. She was a pain in the ass, but for the most part she was right. Maybe not exactly right about him loving the verbal abusement , but he loved that she was in his life. He could NOT see her in his life. Things wouldn't be the same if she wasn't in it. She had and always would be one of the constant people he could rely on. Even if half of the time they spent their time arguing and bickering…
"I told you-you like it." she joked.
Justin shook his head as he said. "You know we could do this all day…" trailing off, his eyes dancing as they met with hers again.
Nicole wrinkled her nose. "I know." she answered back knowingly. "Its what we do." she finished. She heard him let out a small chuckle. They continue to sway back and forth on the swing for a few minutes, neither one speaking as they looked out into the large backyard and large skies in front of them.
The backyard they had both grown up in along with Trace and Rachael. The backyard that still had the tree house Nicole's dad had built back when they were seven years old.
Sometimes he forgot how much he missed the simplicity of the country. The easyness and calm his hometown held after so many years. He loved LA, but whenever he was home-even if it was for a few days he always felt like he could stop and truly take a deep breath and enjoy everything that was around him.
A at that moment, that was exactly how he felt. Like he could stop with all the craziness in his life and enjoy what was in front of him…and next to him…
He glanced over at Nicole from the corner of his eye. He didn't share it with anyone-not even his mother-but Nicole was the other thing in his life that made him stop and truly breath. She didn't realize it, but she had taught him many years ago, to not take things for granted. Because in a split moment it could be taken away without any explanation. There was no pretense with Nicole. She brought a calmness out of him that no other could.
She was his best friend. His Nic. And that was all that mattered.
"You know…I was really hoping for a white Christmas." Nicole murmured, her eyes still looking out into the backyard.
Justin blinked back from his thoughts and chuckled. Every year they always seemed to have the same conversation about a white Christmas in Memphis. Every year she would absently ask him if he thought there was a possibility of snow.
"Why are you laughing?" she stated, a little hint of southern accent coming out. It was funny, home always brought out the accents in full force.
"I'm not!" he answered defensively. "We have this conversation every year before or after Christmas." he added quickly before she answered with some smart- ass remark.
She glanced at his direction, frowning. "We do not!"
Justin snorted back his laughter. "Yes, we do Nicole."
A small smile began to form on her lips as she said. "So?" Knowing he was right.
Justin tossed his head back in laughter. "So…every year I tell you it probably wont snow or I tell you after Christmas to wish really hard and it might happen next year." he said mockingly.
She poked him. "Jerk." she paused. "It did snow this year…"
"Yea. Back in March! In spring!" he exclaimed. "The possibility of any snow for any Christmas in Memphis seems pretty slim Nic." he stated. She frowned at him. He shook his head lightly. "What is with you and snow?" he asked her teasingly.
"Everyone wants a white Christmas Justin." she stated as if it was blatantly obvious. "It would have been perfect to see one…" trailing off.
"You have seen one. Remember 3 years ago in Colorado? Plenty of snow there." rubbing the top of her head and messing up her hair as he reminded her of the year Justin had flown out all the families to Colorado to celebrate Christmas and do some skiing. That had been a good Christmas. Then again any Christmas that he got to spend with his family was a good Christmas.
She slapped his hand away and said. "Yea. But it hasn't happen at home." trying her best to fix the top of her hair. "At least not in awhile."
"It came close a couple of years back. Remember?" he stated, tugging on the end of the blanket that was wrapped around her body. "Share." he demanded with a pout
She glared at him. "No." she paused, tightening the blanket closer to her body. "But it didn't." she told him.
"That was a good Christmas…" he murmured, glancing back up at her with a grin. "A very good Christmas…" emphasizing the word very. She gave him a confused look for a split second, not sure of what he was talking about.
"What Christmas was that?" she absently asked her feet swiftly moving the swing back and forth.
"About six years ago.." Justin reminded her. He kept his eyes on her, waiting expectantly for a sassy response from that mouth of hers. "Don't act you as if you don't know…"
Nicole met his gaze, as she crinkled her nose. She knew what Christmas he was talking about. She was surprise he remembered it. It hadn't been anything extraordinary-except for the fact that they had a lot of sex that Christmas. A lot. It had also been Justin's first Christmas without Britney. And it had been the last Christmas Nicole and Justin had spent together. Whatever the 'together' part meant. The idea of truly being with Justin had crossed her mind that Christmas. But she never told him how she felt. It was still fresh in her mind how he had wanted it. He had wanted to try things again. Start fresh. But she had been too scared to go there again with him. Of course it wouldn't be the last time those thoughts would run through her head. The perfect example would be right after his relationship with Cameron had ended, the opportunity had presented itself again. The only difference was that time around she had been more than ready. And for a brief moment they both felt it. Both assuming it would lead them back to where they had began so many years ago…
But at the end-it hadn't. At the end, it lead them back to what they were at that moment. Just friends.
Nicole blinked back to reality, moving her gaze from his face. "Wasn't that year you broke your toe?" she asked innocently, eyeing him from the corner of her eye.
She felt his gaze, and felt his eyes narrowing down at her. "It didn't stop you though." he murmured under his breath.
Nicole didn't skip a beat, meeting his eyes. "Me?!" she exclaimed in exasperated voice. She knew what he was talking about. "If I remember correctly it was the other way around." she reminded coldly.
Justin chuckled lightly. "I knew you remembered." he said smugly.
"What?" she asked confused.
He slipped his hands back into the jacket's pocket before speaking again. "You, acting as if it had slipped your mind." he told her.
She opened her mouth to respond, but then stopped herself as she broke away from his gaze. "What I remember," she started without giving him a second glance. "was plenty of whinning."
He mocked her by laughing. "Is that all you remember?"
Nicole slowly turned to face him again and glared. "What exactly do you want me to remember?" she asked challenging, raising her eyebrow expectantly.
"I asked first." he shot back with grin.
Nicole rolled her eyes. He really was annoying sometimes. No, make that all the time. Sometimes she wondered how they stayed friends for this long. She heard him clear his throat and she knew that was his way of pushing her to talk. Fine. He wanted a response? She would give him a damn response. She took her hand out of the blanket and extended her hand out to him. "Hand me your phone." she stated clearly.
He raised his eyebrow suspiciously. "What the hell for?" he asked, not missing a beat.
"So I can call your girlfriend." she replied. "We can put her on speaker phone, that way you and me can reminisce about that wonderful Christmas." She finished, wiggling her fingers out in front of his face.
He smacked her hand away and wrinkled his nose. "All right, all right. I get the picture."
"You sure? I don't mind doing it." she told him smugly, wrapping the blanket back around her body. She loved it when she could beat him at his own game. It never got old. And maybe that's why they were still friends after all these years. They were a lot more like than either one like to admit.
"You've made your damn point." Justin mumbled.
She grinned widely up at him. "Good."
Justin gave her a long look. And after a few minute of silence, he spoke up. "Bitch." he murmured under his breath, loud enough for her to hear a small smile forming on his lips.
"Asshole." Nicole retorded back without missing a beat, glaring.
They both knew that was the end of that conversation.
Neither one spoke for awhile after that. Instead Nicole lifted her legs up as Justin's feet moved the swing back and forth. Justin gazed back out to the skies above him. The sun was almost down, but there was still a few rays of light sprawn over the sky. It reminded him of that Incubus song, "Wish You Were Here."
Man, it had been too long since he had enjoyed a moment like this…
No worries about people hiding behind bushes, or his driveway to try and get a picture. Nobody yelling his name or asking him dumbass questions about when he was going to get married and shit. He moved his eyes from the sky for a moment, his eyes falling to the tree house 30 feet away from him. Justin smiled to himself, as he thought to all the fun times they had in that tree house when they were kids.
Breaking the silence Justin finally spoke up. "Can you still get in there?" nodding toward it.
"Get into what?"
"The tree house."
Nicole giggled. "Yea."
"No fucking way?"
Nicole nodded. "I can, but then I get scared." she explained.
"You get scared?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What?! I'm not that little girl anymore." she explained.
He snorted. "You got that right. I'm surprise you can with your-" he stopped himself short. He was going to say her big ass-not that there was anything wrong with a big ass. Not in his book anyway.
"With my what Timberlake?" she challenged.
Justin shook his head. "Nothing." smiling innocently at her. He could have continued but that would have led to another argument. Not that it wouldn't be fun, but he knew where to draw the line. He knew which buttons to not push to not get him slapped. He smiled to himself. He might be an asshole but he wasn't stupid…most of the time anyway.
"Good choice." he heard her muttered.
He chuckled lightly. "What is there to be scared of?" he asked instead, trying to steer clear from the topics that could get him troube.
She looked back out to the tree house again. "That it will give in on me while I'm in there!" she exclaimed.
Justin tossed his head back and laughed. "That's not gonna happen Nic."
"Its not sturdy J. Trust me. I've been in there a few time. Its not." she pointed out to it. "Daddy made that for kids, not for adults. I can see you, me, Trace and Rach trying to get in there now and Johnny having a damn heart attack as you roll into his office in a wheel chair and casts." she joked.
Justin snorted as he pictured what he would look like covered in casts. "Johnny would shit his pants."
"Yea. Then come after me." she added with a smirk.
"Bullshit. That fucker loves you like a daughter. If anything he would come after me." scrunching his face, and lifting his shoulder back, as he did his best Johnny impression: "What the fuck were you thinking Justin?!" he shook his head. "Then there would be Mom, and Dad."
"Paul would only shake his head, while Lynn would fuss all over her baby." Nicole mocked.
Justin glared. "No need to be jeolous."
"Of what?" she asked. "My mommy would fuss all over me too if I ended up hurt. " she told him sarcastically, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Haha…ha." he responded dryly.
"Mom has said I could take it down if I wanted to…" she told him, the tone in her voice changing. "She keeps telling me there is no need for it to be up anymore…"
Justin looked down at her. "She said that?"
Nicole nodded. "Uh, uh." her eyes meeting his blue orbs.
"I'm pretty sure someone can come out and do it." he offered. "I mean, if that's what she really wants."
Nicole shivered underneath the blanket. Justin noticed, and slid closer to her. Hoping he could keep her warm with body heat. "Thanks." she murmured. "It's cold now." He only rolled his eyes at her comment. She ignored the eye roll and absently hooked her covered arm through his, to keep herself warm.
"Just let me know. Maybe Dad and I can do it." he offered. Getting back to the conversation at hand, feeling her rest her head on his arm.
He felt her shiver. "No." she paused for a second. "I cant make myself take it down, even though she tells me that its okay."
"You don't think she means it?" he asked.
He heard her let out a sigh. "I think...I think a part of her does, but the other part doesn't. Do you know what I mean?"
"Yeah." he murmured into her hair, closing his eyes for a second to take in her sweet scent.
"So I wont." she whispered, her body relaxing against him. "I know she likes looking out the kitchen window and seeing it. It's silly, but its just another reminder of the things he did around the house. Even after all these years."
"She says that?"
She shook her head slightly. "She doesn't have to…"
It was weird to think that Nicole's dad had died thirteen years ago. She had just turned twelve when he had died of a heart attack. No warning. It just happened. The day was pretty clear in his mind. He had flown back home from Florida for a few days to see his grandparents and his friends after being given a few days off from the tv show. His dad had dropped them off at the mall, and when he had picked them up two hours later, his dad had given Nicole the news about the sudden heart attack. He remembered how she had sat quietly in the back seat on the drive back. Looking out the window.
"What about you?" he murmured coming back to the present.
He felt her take in a deep breath. "What about me?"
"Do you want it taken down?" leaning back down, resting his chin lightly on the top of her head.
"No." she said in a low whisper.
Without thinking, he kissed the top of her head. "You like seeing it out the window too." he stated.
He felt her give a small nod underneath his chin. "I know its sounds silly."
"It doesn't." he assured her. "I miss him too. We all do."
"Somedays I feel guilty. I don't even see his face anymore." she confessed. "I mean I think about him everyday, but after awhile his face is only a blur. I feel like I'm forgetting him if I cant even remember what he looks like unless I'm looking at pictures." she paused, taking in a deep breath. "And then I start thinking about all the things that he is missing out on…my Mom." she finished.
"Nicky…" She rarely opened up about the death of her dad. Usually when he was brought up in conversations, it was always something funny he had done.
"Then I start to think about how he wasn't there for my high school graduation, or college. Or how I wont have anyone to walk me down the aisle when I get married or be there when I have my babies, and I realize how selfish that sounds and it just gets me angry." There was a long pause before she continued to talk. "Its not fair J…" she whispered.
"I know Baby." he murmured into her hair.
They were quiet for a few more moments but he felt her stiffened up when they heard a car door open and then shut. She sat up straight, sliding her arms from Justin's and quickly wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand. "Mom is home." she stated. He looked worriedly at her. Nicole saw the look. "I'm fine." she told him.
He raised an eyebrow.
"I am. Really."
"You were just-"
She interrupted him. "I know. But its Momma. I don't like her seeing me that way."
"Why the hell not Nicole? She's your Mom."
Nicole swallowed. "Because, after everything else I've put her through I don't think she needs more-"
It was his turn to inturrupt her. "You didn't plan any of that." he reminded. "Its okay to show your feelings."
"I do."
"You do?" he questioned.
She got up from the swing, the blanket still wrapped around her body. "To you." she murmured. She made her way to the kitchen door, placing her hand on the door knob. "Can you hand me my book?" she asked. "And don't look at me that way. We both know it's the truth." sticking her hand out, waiting patiently for him to hand her the book.
He shook his head, as he reached down for the book. He handed it to her.
"Thanks." she said, taking the book in her hand. "Are you coming in?" she asked him, opening the door, and stepping inside.
He took ahold of the door knob from her as he stepped inside as well. "So you show your feelings to me huh?" grinning.
Nicole looked over her shoulder at him, and groaned. "Me and my big mouth."
Chapter 20 Throwback Present Nicole slipped the sunglasses up and over her head, her eyes adjusting to the figure that stood above her in swim trunks. Justin smirked down at her. "I was about to poke you with my foot to see if you were still alive." he joked, sitting on the beach chair next to her. Nicole followed him with her eyes, giving him a long look before placing the sunglasses back on her face. "I was taking a small nap." she informed him. "The villa is beautiful. The view from here is amazing." she murmured. "It is. The location couldn't have been better." He poked her side with his bare foot. She pushed his foot away. "Shouldn't you be out in the water with Jake?" he asked her sarcastically, resting his foot on the side of her chair. He knew he should keep his mouth shut. He just hadn't expected on Nicole bringing along a friend on the trip. Not that he cared. "His name is Chase." Nicole corrected, pushing his foot away again. "And I don't feel like it right now." she paused. "I could say the same about you." she retorted. "What?" She sighed as she looked up at the sky as before speaking. "Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend?" Oh. Right. He hated when she turned everything back to him. He glanced down at her, his eyes quickly doing a once over at her bikini covered body. He wouldn't be a straight man if he didn't think she looked good. Yep. She still looked good. Especially in red. "She's out golfing." he explained blinking back to reality. "What does that have to do with anything?" She lifted her head up, the sunglasses falling down to her nose. "It doesn't." smirking. He didn't say a word, as he laid back against his own beach chair. The trip to Mexico had been a great idea when Rachael had suggested it a week ago. With the holidays behind them, Justin and Jessica had been talking about going somewhere warm and Mexico had been the perfect fit. They decided the more the merrier. Inviting a few friends along. Nicole had agreed to come along, but showed up a day later than everyone else because she had a final. Now, it was a day later and Justin had been a little more than surprise when his oldest best friend had shown up at the Villa- where they were all staying at- with Chase. Who the hell was Chase? Justin had no fucking clue. He knew it shouldn't bother him, that Nicole brought along a friend. But it would have been nice if someone had informed him she was bringing someone. Justin had apparently made his thoughts outloud without even realizing it. Thankfully Rachael had been the only one that had heard him. That didn't stop Rachael from giving him a long curious look. "I didn't think you would care. The villa has enough room for everyone." Oh. So his assistant/cousin knew Nicole was bringing along a guest. That was fucking dandy. "It would been nice to been informed." he mumbled. "I'm sorry. Geez." Rachael apologized. "I don't get what the big deal is." Thankfully Jessica had appeared so Justin didn't bother to asnwer. Neither one spoke. Justin laid there, eyes shut. Trying to figure out the best way to ask about the guy. He knew he shouldn't pry, but he couldn't help it damn it. For some reason, whenever a new guy entered her life, Justin's overprotective side came out in full force. He did it with Rachael too, but it was worse with Nicole. "Go ahead and ask." Nicole murmured, laying back against the chair. "Ask what?" Justin asked innocently, pulling his arms back, and resting his head on top of them. Nicole gave a short laugh. "Ask whatever your going to ask about Chase." she stated. "Isnt that why you came over here for?" shifting slightly in her chair. Justin clinched his jaw. Was he that predictable? "You think that's why I came over here for?" he asked, trying his best to play it off. "I havent seen you in a week Nic." he reminded. "I just want to catch up." shrugging. Yeah, that wasn't fucking obvious. Nicole slipped the sunglasses back over her head, and turned her head to look at him. . "I think I know you well enough to know when you are trying to be nonchalant." wrinkling her nose. "Besides we talk and text everyday." she reminded him with a small smile. Justin frowned up to the sky. "Yeah and you think you would have mention him." he muttered under his breath. Nicole snorted back her laughter. "Whoa. That was fast." she teased. He raised his eyebrow at her. "What was?" She took in a deep breath, and turned her gaze from him, shutting her eyes before speaking up again. "Nothing." she answered simply. He took in a deep breath. He hated when she would drag out the conversation. He hated it. "You know you could have mention you were seeing someone." he blurted out. Fuck. Fuck. That was not what he entended to say. He was thinking it, but hadn't mean to blurt it out. "You could have asked." Nicole shot right back, her eyes still shut. "And the reason why I didn't mention it before is for this exact same reason." she added. Justin quickly sat up, his gaze glaring down at her. "What reason is that?"
"The interrogation." she stated without hesistation. "From you, Trace, even Rachael." "Well shit it should have been a cake walk with me. Rachael knew." he said dryly, a hint of hurt in his voice. It irritated him that she hadn't mention anything to him about the new guy. "Wait-" he started. "Did Trace know?" "Not until a week ago." "He fucking knew and didn't tell me?!" he exclaimed. "That fucker." Nicole looked back at him. "I made sure to threaten his life if he said anything." she paused, yawning before speaking up again. "And just so you know-he isn't my boyfriend. We are just… getting to know each other." Justin snorted. "I bet you are." Nicole took her sunglasses fully off and glared. "Why is this such a big fucking deal?" she asked a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Its not a big deal." Justin replied quickly. "But you think you could have mention you were seeing someone new. I know we havent seen each other a lot in the past couple of weeks, but that is a sure damn big piece of your life you've left out of our conversations." he spat out. Nicole continue to glare. "Its not like you havent done it before." Bitting her lower lip, wishing she hadn't said that. That was in the past. "That was stupid. I didn't mean that." she murmured. Before either one had a chance to speak up again, they heard the voices of their friends getting closer. Nicole gave him one more look before putting the sunglasses back on. Justin didn't say another word as he got up from the chair and made his way toward his friends. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that afternoon… Rachael plopped herself on the couch across from Nicole. "Where the boyfriend go?" she asked teasingly. Nicole resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "He isn't my boyfriend." she stated for what seemed the hundredth time in the past couple of hours. She didn't even know why she bothered, it wasn't going to stop Rachael or anyone on the trip from calling him her boyfriend. But damn it, he really wasn't. "Will you stop calling him that?" she murmured, reaching out for the plush pillow a few inches away from her and holding it up to her chest. Rachael chuckled lightly, "I know he isn't. I just love seeing you squirm when I say it." Nicole stuck her tongue out at her. "Bitch." she stated. "Slut.." Rachael shot back with a grin. She brought her knees up to her chin. "So if he isn't a boyfriend…then what the hell is he?" she asked, changing subjects. Nicole sighed. She knew that question was non avoidable. Truth of the matter was, she really didn't have an answer. "I don't know." she murmured. "We havent talked about it." she finished. "Do you really like him?" Nicole nodded. "Yeah." grinning from ear to ear. She really did. She hadn't expected to. In fact the only reason why she had gone out with him in the first place was because one of her co-workers had pressured her into it. She had planned on cutting the date short, but somehow Chase had charmed her. She still wasn't sure how-maybe it had been his dimple smile… Rachael reached for the pillow next to her and threw it at her. "The girl is sprung." she observed. Nicole ducked before the pillow her head. "Shut up, I'm not." she retorted. She paused for a split second before speaking again. "He really is a great guy." she told Rachael. Nicole couldn't help it, for the first time in months, she found someone she could really have a conversation with and hang out with. It was nice to have that type of someone in her life again. Nicole had never been the type of girl that needed to be in a relationship. Infact she was the opposite of that. She rather be alone than be attached. The funny thing was whenever she did attached herself to someone, it was always to the same man… Maybe that's why things always ended up so screwed up at the end. She wasn't the attached type, even when she tried. But Chase was a great guy. He was the first guy-besides Justin-who she felt she could open up with. She had already told him more in the past month than she had told her past boyfriends. Then again her longest relationship had lasted ten months. She looked over at Rachael. Rachael grinned back. "Good." Before Nicole had a chance speak up again, she heard Chase's voice. "Whats good?" He asked sitting himself next to Nicole on the couch. He smiled over at Rachael. "Have a good nap?" Rachael nodded. "Awesome. Siestas are the best." smiling. "And the 'good' is you." she informed him. Nicole glared over at Rachael before looking up at Chase. She felt her stomach flutter when her eyes met his chocolate ones. He was handsome, there was no denying it. With his dark short hair, and chocolate eyes, and the dimples on that man's face. Whenever he smiled and showed them off… Oh god, maybe she was sprung. "The good is me huh?" Chase asked, grinning from ear to ear. Man, those dimples were just too cute. Nicole found herself smiling back. "I don't know what she is talking about." she stated with a shrug. "Rachael likes to talk without thinking sometimes." she retorted, glaring over at her friend playfully. Rachael rolled her eyes before looking back up at Chase. "Are you sure you want to get involve?" Chase chuckled lightly, locking eyes with Nicole. "Yeah…" not breaking from her face. "I think I do." Rachael made a retching noise. "Oh god." she teased. "Can we please stop." she begged. Chase only chuckled and Nicole rolled her eyes. "So…" Rachael started. Nicole gave Rachael warning look. She knew Rachael had been waiting for the perfect moment to start asking 100 questions. Rachael ignored Nicole's look and sat up against the couch. "What do you do? Do you go to school too?" Chase shook his head. "No, no school for me-at least not anymore. I uh, actually just started a job at a law firm in LA." Rachael nodded, giving Nicole an approving look. "Congratulations! You're going to be one of those top lawyers." she concluded. Chase rubbed his chin with one of his fingers as he laughed. "Not right now, but hopefully in the future." he stated. Rachael laughed and Nicole let out a small sigh of relief. She would be lying if she said the opinion of her friends didn't matter to her. She wasn't sure of what Chase and her were, but she wanted the people that she loved the most to like him, just in case. And Rachael already seemed to be warming up to him. At first it had been obvious she had been skeptical of him, Nicole knew the reason for it had been because she had brought him along on the trip. Nicole knew Rachael was just looking out for her cousin. She knew the type of people that were out there, always trying to get into Justin's business. Yes, it had been sudden, but Nicole wanted to spend time with Chase. She also knew she should have mention something to Justin about it, but realistically she didn't think he would mind. He had never minded, whenever Trace or Rachael brought along new people they were seeing on trips. And it was not like Justin was paying for Chase. Nicole frowned to herself, thinking about the conversation she had with Justin earlier that day. She was interrupted out of her thoughts when she heard Justin's familiar voice boom through the room. "What the hell are y'all doing?" Nicole followed his voice, turning around to find him standing a few feet away from the couch, Jessica in tow. Jessica rolled her eyes behind him, mouthing the word 'sorry', as she made her way toward one of the couches. "Baby, you don't have to yell." Jessica said sitting down. She looked at all three sitting around her. "He had a shot or two of tequila with Justin before we left the golf course." she explained. "I'am fine." Justin stated, giving his girlfriend a long look. "Besides we are in fucking Mexico, I should be allowed to be drunk all fucking day if I want to." he stated. He looked between Nicole and Rachael. "Shouldn't y'all be getting ready for tonight?" he glanced over at Jessica. "That includes you to baby." smiling widely over at her. "We will J. But dinner isn't for another 2 hours." Jessica responded. They heard other voices getting nearer. Justin's friend Justin and his girlfriend walked into the living room as well. The girfriend held on to her boyfriend's hand, giving them a small smile. "Hi." she greeted. Her boyfriend grinned widely at the people in the room. "Hey, Rach. Hey, Jessica. Hey Nicole and…hey… Chase right?" he greeted. His girlfriend tugged at his hand. "We are going to get ready for tonight. See you all in a bit." she stated, and without saying another word, they both disappeared down the hall toward their room. Chase smiled and nodded calling out after them. "Right..." It was pretty obvious he found the scene in front of him amusing. Nicole felt the same way, she glanced over at Justin, who quickly turned to look at Chase, as if he seeing him for the first time. Uh, oh. Great, she had a feeling she wasn't going to find whatever he was going to do next amusing. She saw the look in his eyes. It was a look that was reserved whenever he was about to do or say something smartass, regardless on whether or not he was drunk. Justin grinned. "Chase? Man, I'm sorry dude. I kept thinking your name was Jake. Ha,ha." Chase shook his head. "It's okay dude." But Justin wasn't going to drop it. He walked over to him, giving Chase a light slap on the back. "No, man its not. I'm sorry." he glanced over to Nicole, a light gleam in his eyes. "But you know we would have not had that confusion if we would have known ahead of time about you man-" Jessica quickly got up from the couch. "C'mon babe, why don't we go take a nap before tonight?" reaching out for his hand. Justin moved his eyes from Nicole's glare and looked up at his girlfriend. Jessica tugged on Justin's hand, pulling him down the other hallway. Before they dissapeard fully, Jessica turned around meeting Nicole's eyes and, giving her an apologetic smile. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later on that night…. "Are you sure your okay?" Rachael asked worriedly, following Nicole out into the terrance of the club. She glanced over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow when she saw Justin step outside as well. Nicole took in a deep breath, thankful for the fresh air. She nodded slightly. "Fine. I just needed some air." she gripped the rail with of the terrace with one hand, while the other held on to her drink. She let out a small moan, her back to Rachael. "Whoa…is the room spinning or is it just me?" Rachael took a step closer, reached out and took the drink from Nicole's hand. "I think we've had enough cocktails for the night." she stated with a light frown. Nicole turned around and faced Rachael wrinkling her nose. Completely ignoring Justin. "How many have you had?" Nicole shrugged. "I don't know. Three? Maybe four…" trailing off. She leaned against the rail. "Whoa…" she repeated, closing her eyes. "Maybe she should go back to the villa." Justin suggested, speaking for the first time since he stepped into the terrace. Nicole' eyes flew open. "Why the hell would I want to do that?" she demanded, glaring over at Justin. "Weren't you the one that said earlier we should be allowed to be drunk all day?" she snapped. She sucked in a breath. "Besides I'am not drunk." looking between her oldest friends. "What I really need is another drink." giggling. "Why don't we pace ourselves for a bit?" Rachael suggested. Nicole shook her head, taking in another shaky breath. All of a sudden her stomach felt queasy and the fresh air wasn't doing what she thought it would do. Both of her hands gripped a side of the rail. "I just need to stay out here for a little bit longer." she murmured. Justin couldn't help but frown. He knew her better. And he knew she wasn't okay. The alcohol was starting to catch up with her. Nicole had never been much of a drinker. In fact, she was a lightweight. Usually by the third or fourth drink, she was ready to quit. He was surprise she had lasted this long. "What else did you drink?" Justin asked. With her eyes still shut, she responded snidely. "That's really none of your business." "It is when you look like you are about to puke." Justin shot back. And she really did. The color on her face had began to fade. "You look pretty pale there sweetheart." he observed. He watched as her eyes flew open and glared deathly over at him. He didn't care. If she didn't get out of here, Justin had a feeling she would be puking her guts out in that terrace. Rachael looked over Justin helplessly. It was pretty obvious they were both thinking the same thing. "I can walk her back to the villa." Justin offered. The villa was only a few blocks from the club. "Like hell you are. I don't need to go anywhere but back inside." Nicole spat out. "Who made you my guardian?" she asked Justin. "Nic." Rachael started. Ignoring Nicole's last comment. "You don't look so good right now." Nicole opened her mouth to speak, but shut it when she felt the queasiness back in her stomach. That last cocktail had probably not been the best idea. This was not how she planned on spending her night. Feeling sick. Her planned had been to enjoy her night with Chase and her friends. Maybe have a few drinks, and do a little dancing to celebrate that she was almost half-way done with school. She hadn't been out in a long time damn it. She sighed. "Fine." "Good." Justin stated. He looked back at Rachael. "Can you tell Jess for me?" he asked. Nicole stopped him, shaking her head. "I don't need for you to walk me back." "Okay, then I will." Rachael stated. Justin shook his head. "No. It's okay, I will." His protective side kicking in. He wanted to be the one to make sure she made it okay. He glanced back at Rachael. "I got it. I'll make sure she gets back." he reached out and took Nicole's hand. Nicole pulled her hand from his grasp. "Are you sure?" Rachael asked skeptically. Justin nodded. "Yeah." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Will you slow down?" Justin called out a few steps behind Nicole. They had been walking for the past fifteen minutes and Nicole had not said one word to him. Infact, she had made it a point to be a few steps ahead of him. She stopped for a split second and looked over her shoulder at him, a small frown on her face, before she turned back around and continued walking. Justin let out a sigh, as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand. Okay, so it was obvious she was mad at him. He had an idea of why she was upset with him. Justin only frowned to himself as his eyes fell on the back of her. Damn, even from the back the little black dress looked good on her. It was a short dress for Nicole. But it did wonders for her hour glass body. It fit tight in all the right places. All the way down to her ass. She had also pulled her hair up, exposing her neck. He swallowed, he knew he shouldn't be doing it. But he would be lying if he didn't think she looked good. He quickly moved his eyes toward the street, trying to keep his mind distracted from the woman in front of him. After a few more minutes of walking Justin looked over Nicole's shoulder, hoping they were getting closer to the villa. So far, Nicole seemed to be doing okay, but he would feel a lot better whenever they made it inside. He gave her ass a quick glance before speaking again. "Is there a reason why you aren't speaking to me?" he blurted out behind her as they neared the villa. Nicole didn't respond she only continue to walk. Justin smirked to himself. Fine. "What else where you drinking?" he asked as he continue to follow her. She didn't reply. "Why are you in such a bad mood?" he pushed. Nicole stopped her steps as they reached the front of the villa. She glanced over at him, speaking for the first time since they left the club. "Happy? You made sure I made it okay, I think I can take care of myself from here." she said sarcastically. He locked eyes with her for a second. Her eyes didn't look as glaze over as they had about 25 minutes earlier. Justin watched her turn back around. He expected her to walk toward the front door instead she walked around and toward the ocean a few feet away from the villa. He watched as she took of her heels and let her feet sink beneath the sand. "What are you doing?" he asked after her. Without turning around she answered. "I' am fine." her heels in one hand. "Fine. But what the fuck are you doing?" he repeated. Nicole stopped walking and turned around to face him, glaring. "Oh I' am sorry. I forgot. I need to tell you about every move I make." she answered sarcastically. "If you must know, I'm not ready to go inside just yet." she snidely said with a pretend smile. "Happy?" "I know you've been drinking, but don't be a bitch Nicole." he snapped. He didn't even now why they were fighting. But it was pretty obvious that's what they were doing. She looked surprisingly at him. Obviously that had not been the response she had expected from him. But Nicole bounced back quickly. "Screw you Justin." Justin clinched his jaw. "If you have a problem with me than just fucking tell me." He paused. "Did you and the new boyfriend have a fight already?" he asked dryly. Shit. He knew he shouldn't have said that. But fuck it, she was the one being a bitch. "Where was he anyway?" Nicole took a step back toward him, facing him. She opened her mouth as if to speak but pressed her lips together instead. Without saying a word, she turned on her heels ready to walk away from him. But Justin grabbed her elbow. Nicole pulled away from his grasp. "What is your deal?!" she exclaimed. "Don't touch me." taking a step back from him. She paused for a split second before speaking up again. "What is your fascination with Chase anyway?" It was Justin's turn to glare. "Fuck you Nicole." he spat out. Nicole took a step back closer to him. "No, really. Whats the fascination?" she asked, tilting her head to lock eyes with him, a light smirk on her face. Justin clinched his jaw. "You should go inside." he stated. He knew better than to answer her. "I'am not drunk." Nicole stated. "C'mon J, answer the question. Whats your fascination with Chase?" she repeated. He licked his lips. "I don't know what your talking about." He paused, his gaze still locked on her. "I'm not going to argue with you." And he didn't want to. They've had plenty of blow outs before and always seemed leave one or both wishing they could take back what they said. He watched her close her eyes. She wasn't completely drunk, but he knew she wasn't all there at the moment. "C'mon, lets go inside." he suggested, reaching out to grab her elbow again. Nicole was quicker and moved her elbow away. "Don't." she murmured. They faced each other, neither one saying a word for a few moments, except for their eyes locked on each other. She bit on her lower lip before finally speaking up. "He's not a bad a guy." Justin knew she was referring to Chase. "Then where is he?" Justin blurted out with thinking. Fuck. What the hell is your problem? He asked himself. She shook her head in disgust. "Oh I'm sorry. Your right, it does make him a bad guy because he didn't walk me back. You on the other hand are Mr. Perfect." she finished dryly. Justin ran a hand over the top of his head. "That's not what I mean. Don't turn it around Nicole." He paused for a brief second. "But you think he would be worried about you-" Nicole stopped him. "You wouldn't let me go back inside!" she yelled. She let out a shaky breath. "You know what? I don't even know why I'm even bothering to try and defend him to you. It's obvious that it bothers you that he came on the trip." "What the hell are you talking about? He's still here isn't he?" She rolled her eyes. "We wouldn't have that confusion if we would have known about you sooner." repeating his words from earlier that day in a mocking tone. "I was drunk!" he defended. Nicole pointed a finger at him. "No. Don't give me that shit. I've seen you in worse states than that." she reminded him. Nicole knew she should just keep quiet, but damn it, Justin was being such an ass about the whole thing and she was still a bit drunk. But she wasn't going to admit that to him. She glanced away from him, her gaze falling on the ocean waves a few feet away from them. Justin followed her gaze, not saying anything for a few moments. He had so many things that he wanted to tell her, but wasn't sure if it was the right time. Letting out a sigh, he murmured. "I don't want you to think that I hate him." he paused. "I don't know him to hate him." And that was the truth. Other than that, he wasn't sure of what else he was feeling at that moment. She looked back up at him. "Then what's the big deal?" He pressed his lips together before speaking. "You didn't bother to tell me." "I didn't tell anyone Justin. I wasn't purposely trying to keep it from you." she stopped for a brief moment. "Its new-whatever it may be…" trailing off. Justin clinched his jaw. He knew she hadn't meant for it to hurt his feelings. But it had. He didn't know why, but it had. "You could've have mention him." Nicole let out a small laugh. "Are you listening to yourself right now?" she asked him. "I'm not going to appologize for it. I have nothing to appologize for." she told him. "It would have been nice to have some kind of heads up about it." he retorted. "You've never had a problem with Trace and Rachael doing it-" "Trace and Rachael are not you." Justin blurted out, interrupting her. Did he just say that? She looked wide eyed up at him. Damn, he had just said that. He cleared his throat, looking anywhere but her face. "I just mean-it would have been nice if you would have mention something about it." "Why?" Nicole asked with a wrinkle of her nose, but her stomach flutter anxiously. She knew it shouldn't, but it was. Justin shook his head. Not sure how to answer. He did not have an answer, that was problem. He didn't know why it bother it him so much that she had met someone new, but it did. Maybe it was the protective side of him that it bothered, he really didn't know. "I just don't understand why you felt you had to keep it so quiet." "I wasn't. God. Don't you understand that?" "No, no. I guess I cant." he stated.
"Why?" she repeated. She didn't give him a chance to replied. "You lost the right to ask me questions like that two years ago Justin." she whispered, locking eyes with him again. Nicole bit her lip wishing she could take that back. Why had she said that? They had an understanding. An understanding that had not failed them in almost fifteen years. "I didn't realize I had that right at one point." he retorted. Knowing exactly what Nicole was talking about. Nicole snorted back her laughter, shaking her head. "No. No. I'm not going there. Forget it." "Why not?" Justin challenged. "You brought it up for a reason right? Hell, we never actually talked about it did we?" he paused. "Is that why you're doing this? Is that why you kept it quiet? To get back at me?" Nicole tossed her head back and let out a small laugh. "Are you sure you're not drunk?" Turning on her heels and walking away from Justin once again. Justin ignored her question and followed right behind her. Maybe it was time for them to let it out in the open. To finally talk about what happen two years ago. They had moved past it, but never truly talked about it. It seemed pointless to talk about something they both knew they couldn't change. "C'mon Nicole. Why not huh?" he pushed. Nicole came to a halt, her feet a few inches away from the water. "Why not what?" she retorted, her back toward him. She turned around again and starred over at him. "How is this getting back at you?" She breath in deeply before speaking again. "I least waited more than a few hours before finding someone new." she blurted out. Justin winced. And there it was. Silence hit them again, except for the waves crashing against each other, a few feet away from them. "That's not fair Nicky," Justin started. "You didn't give me the chance to even explain." he answered defensively. Nicole shook her head. "It doesn't even matter. I mean we have an understanding. You had every right to keep it quiet. I mean- I should know better, with the press always wanting to be in your face." No. Damn it. That was not the answer he wanted. He wanted to know why she had not let him explain. Why she had decided to just drop it. Why she had quickly backed out of everything they had talked about. God damn it, two years ago, he had been ready to be with her. Truly be with her. "And its for the better." she finished. "Is it?" Nicole took in a deep breath. "You've made up your mind remember?" "No, Nic, you made that choice for me." he answered. He took a step closer to her. Screw it. He was just going to say it. He knew he had no right, but he didn't care. He loved Jessica, he did, he loved her more than anything in the world. But him and Nicole still had some unfinished business. He didn't wait for her to answer. "I love Jessica, I do." he started, wanting to make that clear. He swallowed. "But yes, Chase being here does bother me to an extent. And I wish I could give you an answer to why. But I don't have one. I don't. I wish it didn't bother me, but it does." Nicole scoffed. "You think I like seeing you with her all the time?" she confessed. "I wish I didn't care, but I do." she licked her lips. "But I deal with it." She let out a shaky breath. "The last time around J, I really thought…" trailing off. Not wanting to continue. "We could have." Justin said simply, knowing exactly what she meant. "But it doesn't even matter-" Justin stopped her. "It doesn't matter?" he repeated. "After everything-you were okay to just let it go just like that?" he asked her. "God, why are we even having this conversation?" Nicole asked outloud. "You made your choice-" "No, no Nicole. You made the choice. You wouldn't even let me try and explain. You just assumed that's what I wanted." he stated. "What was I supposed to do?" Nicole exclaimed. "Nothing happened that night." "That's not the point Justin. The point was, as soon as you saw that things weren't perfect, you had to go out and find someone new." she replied. "Relationships don't work that way." she paused. "So all I kept thinking was, if one stupid fight had already made you want to find someone knew, then what did that say about the future? And then you didn't even bother to tell me, until after I confronted you about it. How do you think that made me feel?!" she exclaimed. "You could have said something." "I was scared!" she confessed. "Scared of what?" "Of losing you okay?" she stated. "I rather keep you as my best friend than lose you over a stupid fight." She choked back the tears, taking a step toward him. "I don't know if I could handle losing you. As much I -" she stopped herself. Where was all this coming from? She had lost it. But she couldn't seem to control the words that were coming out of her mouth. "You mean too much too me okay?" she stated. "There. Happy? Is that what you wanted to hear?" Turning on her heels. "Nicole-" "What?!" she yelled, turning to face him again.. Justin took a step in her direction. "You-you-cant just-" "What?!" she repeated. Before Justin had a chance to think twice, he took a closer step toward her, wrapped his arms around the small of her waist, and kissed her forcefully. Nicole kissed him back for a few seconds before pushing him off her. She moved her fingers to her lips. Not sure of what had just happened. She breathed heavely for a few moments as her eyes locked with his. "I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done-" Justin started. Nicole didn't wait for him to finish as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Forgettting about everything and everybody at that moment. All that mattered was them, wrapped in each others arms.
