I've actually been driving for a little over 3 years, but not very often. I live in downtown Toronto and all my recent jobs have been downtown so I would walk to work. And there are many places within walking distance so I just drive occasionally when I go meet up with people or go shopping or go on a trip out of town. Maybe if I drove more regularly I wouldn't feel the same.

The two major close calls (both would have been my fault) I've had were actually almost 3 years ago when I first started driving, but I still think about them sometimes and what could have been. I'm sure it sounds kind of crazy but I just feel like if I'm still thinking about stuff like that 2 years later I can't imagine how it would feel if something actually happened.

But yea, I feel like even though I hate driving I hate public transit more - that and when I go out of town to visit people or shop it would be a huge pain in the ass to get around. Those are the two major things that keep me driving.
