Isn't it a 3 day test?
It depends on the state. NY is two very long days. CA is three days but they're slightly shorter (not by much though). NY, CA and FL have the reputation for being the worst exams to take. I had a friend take the Massachusetts bar and each essay was only one subject and it was labeled. On NY part of the essay is identifying all issues so you can have a question that includes civil procedure, torts, real property and something else. Or you can have a question entirely on one subject and if you're not well versed you're screwed. The multi-state portion is multiple choice on only six subject (well, at least when I took it). You need to pass that part and the state part in many states. For others, if you pass the multi-state that's all you need to pass.
