Here in NY you can take it as many times as is necessary to pass. I had two friends who passed on try #4. It was frustrating for them but they did it. Both were dyslexic too.

Truly though, the key for passing the bar is to devote the six weeks prior to the exam solely to the exam. No work, no activities, nothing. Straight studying and going to review classes. Anyone who was still working or not giving that time commitment flunked the exam. By the time I took the exam I could not hold a normal conversation. My brain was so full of the information for the exam, but I had zero intention of going through that hell a second time. It was easily the worst experience I've ever had.
