One of the fortunate side effects of (unfortunately) having to take public transportation everywhere is that it's helped me to stay in shape. I remember when I first started working at my job, I noticed that my arms and legs were getting more muscular. I couldn't really figure out why until I realized that it's from holding on for dear life/shifting my weight back and forth to keep my balance on the subway The other thing is that since I live in the city, I have to walk everywhere. I walk alot at my job from the subway station to the office and then to grab food/do errands so all of that has helped. I was even working out for a while but for some reason that didn't help much (probably because I was doing cardio but I should have been doing weights).
