She doesn't do total sedation. This appointment actually wasn't too bad, at least compared to the last one. I only felt the drill once before she just loaded me up on anesthetic. She gave me three shots of the anesthetic to start with, tried removing the temporary filling I had, and I nearly came off the chair. She then gave me a huge shot of anesthetic, and since I still didn't feel like I was completely numb, she then gave me a couple of shots right at the teeth she was going to be working on. She'd tried that last week and it didn't work, but I think she really increased the dosage this week and it worked like a charm. I went numb almost instantly.
