I have a feeling that many of you who don't see this as a big deal don't seem to understand the importance. An air traffic controller is one of the most stressful jobs a person can have. You have to constantly keep on alert and know where every plane is at to the smallest inch as to avoid collisions. That is not a place to joke around and having that kid in there means the father and supervisor are dumbasses. This situation was not overblown in the slightest.

The only reason I'm commenting on this is because I think it is also important to note that the child was not controlling air traffic. He was speaking words, dictated to him by his father, who was clearly right next to the microphone, to a pilot and flight attendant who were clearly pre-informed that this was going to happen due to their lack of negative/ shocked response.  He was not alone in the tower pushing buttons like one of the hyperactive children in Kindergarten Cop.

I agree, he SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THE TOWER.  But I don't agree with making it seem like he was causing more damage than he actually possibly could have based on the evidence provided.  The fact that the people involved were suspended and not fired completely, I think, is a pretty good indicator that it's just not that serious.
