According to the criminal complaint, 30-year-old Jennifer Daugherty -- who her sister described as mentally challenged -- suffered multiple stab wounds and was bound with Christmas decorations and clothing.Officers said they believe Daugherty was stabbed in an apartment in the 400 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue before being moved to the Greensburg Salem Middle School parking lot off Main Street.
"I was laying on my love seat, and their living room is right over my love seat, and I heard all that -- usually it's jumping, you know? Stomping. But this -- slamming, body slamming," downstairs neighbor Floria Headen said.
Police said Daugherty had been missing since Feb. 8, when she left Mount Pleasant for Greensburg by bus. In police affidavits, investigators said that calls from family members led them to Daugherty's identity. Her family told police they hadn't seen or heard from Daugherty since they dropped her off at the bus stop. The investigation pointed officers in the direction of a friend's apartment, which turned out to be the one on Pennsylvania Avenue.
