You yelled at a woman who just told you her husband had emergency surgery and he hadn't woken up from it yet? Talk about inconsiderate and uncaring.

I wouldn't be in the frame of mind to call the person whose car I borrowed either. I'm not sure I would be able to form a coherent sentence. It was inconsiderate not to call, but under the circumstance it'd be excusable. She may not have wanted to borrow the company car because it'd take even more time to go ask the boss and get the car keys, when she already had your assistants car keys in her hand. I'd be wanting to get to my husband as soon as possible too.

As for your assistant, I'd be worried about her home life. My husband wouldn't be happy about the situation, but I would stay at the office for hours after my shift was over just because I was scared to face him. I'd come home and explain it to him, he may not be happy with me, but he'd be understanding. I'd ask her what her husband would do.

It seems like you just don't like this other girl and want to think the worst of her. But her husband could be dead right now, so I think she deserves some leeway here.
yes I did, I only yelled It's been 10 hours why didn't you call? She could've called as she was driving back to the office after 10 hours! The lady did apologize to my asst for not calling. Her husband had surgery and is doing fine.

I just don't understand why you're yelling at her period. It wasn't your car or your business to say anything. Your assistant should have stood up for herself and said something not you.
