I hope it follows the tradition of other Nicholas Sparks film adaptations and isn't very similar to the book (even in the casting). With his stories I'm able to enjoy the books and films separately, unlike other authors/books, where I really like faithful adaptations. Maybe it's because I actually enjoy the film adaptations more than his books, they're usually given a more modern make-over in tone and don't feel so old-fashioned.

The only one they actually made more modern was a walk to remember. And I agree I liked that take on it way better. But most of the other movies fall short to me, the only one that actually is as good as the book is The Notebook, it translated really well on screen and the casting was done right. Nights in Rodanthe was horrible in the casting(I love Richard Gere and Diane Lane, I just didn't think they had the chemistry that the book characters had) and the movie felt so rushed and they didn't really explain why Richard Gere's character was an ass at the beginning of the movie and everything he had gone through with the surgery and losing his family and his son basically.
