I almost lost my hair too when I was 17 y.o or so. I used to have a very thick and lustrous hair and then I got sick & had high fever. When I recovered, half of my hair was gone and it was so pitiful that people could see my scalp from miles away.

I went the traditional route, I didn't take medication. All I did was to buy aloe plant and planted them in my backyard. Every day (or every other day) before I washed my hair, I rubbed the aloe juices all over my scalp, massaged it a bit, and left it for an hour, then I washed my hair.

This worked like a charm, it stopped the shedding and all of sudden I started seeing fine hairs started to grow all over. I have a really thick hair now. My 62 year old mother in law also went through the same thing and I told her what I did. She followed my advice and now her hair is normal (while before she was considering to put wig because she's almost bald). Yeah, it's very old fashioned but it works for me and a number of people.
