When I was volunteering at the mental facility a few years back I knew a woman who had been there for two decades with little to no family contact. She had lost her hearing as a teenager and her parents refused to understand her frustration, and saw it as her problem to deal with, including the communication barrier between them. She became so frustrated that she lost her temper and they saw it as her becoming uncontrollable, and decided to send her to "get help."

When I saw her she had told me that her younger sister started coming to regularly visit months prior to me volunteering and felt deep regret that she, as well as the parents, turned her back on her older sister. Whenever I see things like this I always think back to this lady.

And now I'm in a bad mood and can't sleep. Thanks a lot JCcai!!!
