Triple X Tera ----- Oh you're doing a reno too!? How's it going? Was it a stressful process?

It hasn't been as stressful for us because we aren't doing it ourselves. We have a family friend/contractor doing all the work for us, its just taken longer than expected because they were finding problems as they were going. I mean it went from just fixing/re-doing the bathroom kitchen to new windows, doors, lights, wiring, walls etc. The house was officially ours Aug 1 and we still don't live in it and probably won't until late October/Early November.

We found out that the wiring was so bad that behind the walls were smoke stains and the wires were black cause they were sparking....the walls are all plaster (because the house was built in the 40's) so the ripped most of them down to put drywall up for the new kitchen/bath.

There is also mold in the basement that they are working on getting rid of and the hardest thing was the windows cause it's taken over a month to get them in. The new windows are now in and we're just waiting for the kitchen and bathroom to be done so we can move in.

Oh, that sounds kind of stressful! There are only three walls.... three very small walls.... upstairs, that are still plaster and lath. Everything else is sheetrock. The wiring on the main level was redone in the 80's, and is good. The wiring upstairs was redone very recently (I want to say 2006 or so?) so that's good too.

But I understand how the "simple" projects can turn into bigger things. I hope we don't run into any of that, but, I'm sure we will!!!
