Congrats to you guys, Gray!

The property is so nice and the house will be great when it's finished!

I'm sure you already checked into it, but just in case you didn't <g> make sure you won't be tearing down a load-bearing wall when you combine the 2 rooms into one!

Don't know if you remember my posting about it before, but we completely gutted a 1700's home. We worked on it for a year before we moved in.

If you guys can make it through the renovation together, you're stuck with each other for life! image Seriously, it can be stressful at times, but it's so worth it in the end.

btw, here is a pic of the old termite-infested MAIN beam we had to tear out and replace with a steel one. The house should stand for another 200+ years. image

OH ish! I am glad we don't haver termites here! The wall we will be taking down between the two bedrooms is not a load-bearing wall, thank goodness!

Dunder ---- I like carpet better than hardwood or tile, and so does my boyfriend. We thought about keeping the hardwood in the dining room, but decided on carpet. The den would be more "cozy" with carpet, but the dogs will be in there most of the time, and tile will be A LOT easier to clean than carpet!
