I'm from Maine and I'm not surprised. We're a very democratic state.

It is a very democratic state EXCEPT for Aroostook County, which is the biggest county in the state, it is very religious/traditional/conservative. They get out to vote, as well. That is why it would be terrible to have it go to the voters. They are the reason it took so long to pass the work discrimination law. I'm so incredibly happy right now. I cannot really express it well. I was born in this state, I was raised in this state, and I continue to proudly live in this state. This is my home and it is brilliant to see the way people can come together for one another. I do not want to feel like a second class citizen in the place I call home.
