I'm travelling to Mexico next week, and I want to a Travel vaccine center. I was given a flu shot (even though its been confirmed that it wont protect against this particular strain, the doctor said there were lot of other flus going around in Mexico right now, so it wouldnt' hurt). But, she insisted there was no need to change any travel plans - because it is here already, or will be here ASAP. I guess she was right!

But yeah, she just emphasized the need to keep physical distance from people (the flu isn't THAT contagious, someone coughing a few meters away from you shouldn't infect you), washing hands, and not touching your face.
You do know it take 2 weeks for the vaccine to be effective, right??

I was told otherwise. But even still, not like it would make a big difference since it isn't effective against this flu. I mostly was going to the vaccine place for a Hep A vaccine.
It takes 2 weeks for the vaccine to work, if you were told otherwise by a doctor I would consider getting a second opinion.
