not really sure what they do for stokes in dogs, but there's an injection they can give during the first few hours for humans.

so maybe they have something similar, idk?

as far as putting her down that's probably not necessary as long as she can still eat and drink and relieve herself.

and dogs, like humans can recover after a stroke...so you sort of have to wait it out.
some people chose not to put down incontinent dogs. I guess you need to have a lot of time. I also haven't quite decided whether it's better to put down a paralyzed incontinent dog or to keep it. I woudln't want to act selfishly and would rahter do whatever is in my dog's best interest

for me the litmus test is obvious suffering.
if the dog doesn't appear to be suffering unduly, and if it's possible to accomodate the changes, then euthanasia would probably be the last thing on my mind.

Do you agree with this:

Quality of life is something that is totally different for a dog than
a person. So don't assign what you think quality of life is on to
Honey. Dogs are happy if they have a warm spot to sleep, food in
their tummy and love and affection of their owner. Dogs don't give
two hoots about how they get from point A to B. It is people that
have hang ups about disabilities.
