My Name is Earl would be good to display his comedic side. He could be Earl's cousin. It'd be funny for him to parody his musical life. Earl messes up his cousin's career, and 15 years later attempts to fix it. JT's character feels it is an impossible feat, wishing to stay at his current job working on a family owned farm picking crops. Though he tries to go about working, Earl catches [JT's character,] humming, and singing,], and pulls him to Earl's car.

I don't watch My Name Is Earl regularly, but from the episodes that I have seen this sounds like it could TOTALLY be a real episode.

NBC should be listening to us! Get him on Scrubs, My Name is Earl, The Office and 30 Rock and it would definitely be Must See Comedy or whatever their tag line is now.
