I'm not sure about NSYNC holding Justin back creatively.... Afterall, every one of the singles released from "Celebrity" had Justin stamped on it somewhere.

I think it's like JC said - when they were in that group, they had to take all five people's input, which is not the same as being on your own and it all being just you and where you want to take it.

IMO that, naturally, is sometimes going to water down somebody's original idea or prevent them from taking it exactly where they originally envisaged it going, because it HAS to be a collaborative agreement. That's totally fair and that's just what you have to do to be in a group, but from an individual perspective then yes, it is going to hold you back somewhat creatively. Whereas if you're totally on your own, if you get an idea in your head you can just run with it whether it wants to take you and you're not going to have four other people nudging it to other places.

I think that for me is the main difference with the solo albums to the group stuff - I mean of course the age and maturity factor will come in there, but I can't see *NSYNC ever having released Schizophrenic or Justified. I can draw comparisons to certain songs, but overall I think you can see a big difference between the direction they came to as a five and then what the guys did separately. (This is so the moment for a 'no strings attached' pun).
