Of course they could have evolved. They became grown ass men for heaven's sake... If they had stayed together, the power of their collective talent would have brought us some awesome music.

I think it's a bit closed minded to say that they wouldn't work anymore. They'd work in a completely different way. No one thought they'd cross onto R&B charts or cross over to different audiences like they did with Girlfriend and Gone. They didn't have to dance around in sparkles and ride fake bulls at their shows. I think that when they split up they were just on the brink of becoming so much more than just a "boyband". They're not the BSB (no offense to fans), I don't think they would've put the same album out again and again with different song titles. And if they had a marketing and publicity megateam like Justin does and they did, they probably would have been able to do a lot more than people give them credit for.
