I get that some people like the burnt flavor (or flavorless) meat, but cooking a good steak or certain cut that way generally kills all flavor. It makes it almost pointless to even bother with a certain cut. I don't dog people for liking something a certain way though because I really don't care. Certain meats I always do well or medium well (like burgers --- unless I really trust the place I'm ordering from) because I have an issue with texture, but if I know the cut and place I'll always do my steaks/meats medium rare.
