Those are gorgeous.  I wish I knew how to do that.  I'm stuck on automatic.  I need a really good /easy book that will tell me how to do pictures like that.

I don't get the whole "Ooh it's a sunset, so I need to switch to this apeture, etc."
Sometimes I shoot on auto, mainly for the reason the shot is not still (I.E. Kid, animal, ocean wave, etc).
I always feel guilty and less-than-professional. But it gets the images that I would otherwise lose if I had to stop and fiddle around with settings.

Understanding Exposure.

And more than likely, this photographer shoots in RAW and on Manual. You will get a much much better end product once you stop using auto. That's like, the worst thing you can do.

This.

But also, as a photographer and digital artist myself, she does a TON of post processing. I do the same with my photos, so I know post when I see it. Although hers like 100x better than mine

All of her photos are about 50% the shot and 50% adjustments and post. Which there is nothing wrong with.
