Having to put a dog down is the worst. I can understand where you're coming from. My dog that was put down (she was 16) was sick, and she was sick for a while, but hers was a slow progression, at least in terms of dogs, so we knew little by little it was coming. We could have very well just put her down as soon as they told us there was nothing they could do for her anymore.. but we didn't. She still seemed 'fine', she still had her fun moments, she was still responding to us, so we took our time and loved her and took care of her until we knew.

I like that we had time to essentially say goodbye. So I can understand why you're feeling as if your parents are rushing it. At the same time, once a dog gets to a point where they're clearly not well, it's horrible to see them suffer, maybe your parents just don't want to see her suffer at all, and that's totally understandable too.

Either way, I'm sorry for what you're going through.
