I don't feel it's barf-inducing, but I do feel it's part of that condescending attitude *some* (not all, JJB) parents get, as if they now completely know the meaning of life and childless people just have no clue (poor things!). It's rather rude and dismissive to state that because someone doesn't have a child, they couldn't possibly know what it was like to love someone.

I can understand saying it's a NEW KIND of love you're experiencing, which makes more sense.
