Besides a few issues I have with NF that aren't necessarily with the movie/show selections themselves, I absolutely love it and think it's very worth the $8 a month (I do only streaming, no DVDs).

I'm not a movie fan, so I can't really speak too well about whether the streaming movie selection is up to par, but I find the TV show selection quite fine. I think they have a good mix of shows from the 60s to present. They may be a bit slow with updating a new season of a current show, but I've found that you can generally find those episodes either on the show's website itself or from another site found on Sidereel.

I personally only devote less than an hour a day to actively watching a show, so I can't even finish one season of a show before I see something else added that I put in my queque. So, I'm QUITE fine with Netflix; I have barely made a dent in my queque.

Perhaps if you are very heavy movie/TV watcher, you may end up being bored with NF, but I still think it would be worth $8/$16 a month for you. That's clearly way less than cable and you don't deal with any commercials.
