All dog breeds are capable of biting. I think the question is which breeds are more known for, or capable of, fatal attacks?

What breeds are "known" for attacking has little to do with how much they all attack in relation to each other and much more to do with a) what gets reported to the authorities (not all attacks do) and more to the point b) publicised.

I also wouldn't use fatal attacks as the major point to compare aggressive tendencies in breeds, purely because that's so dependent on phsyical capability as well as the will/aggression to do it. The nastiest individual animals I've come across both happened to be miniature poodles of all things. That's another thing which plays into what gets reported, because obviously the more minor the injury the less people bother to report them - and some dogs just by that physical capability are going to get more or less reported. My Dalmatian would only have to have given me one good bite to send me for stitches (not that she ever would because she was beautifully behaved, RIP), whereas that blasted poodle wouldn't stop around my ankles but barely did more than scratch
