I'm absolutely petrified of driving in snow. My car doesn't handle well in it at all. I drive an '05 Honda Civic and my baby blows around in the wind gusts and my brakes never like to stop when my foot is trying to make it happen. I'm already dreading this winter. High anxiety. For winters only, I'd love to work from home Or lease a nice tank of a car for the season.
I had a 2008 civic at one point and it sucked in the snow until I bought good tires. The stock tires that came with it were rated 2 out of 10 in snow. I didn't even know how the hell they sold those in Buffalo. Once I bought good tires, my Civic was a much nicer car in the snow. I spent $500 on the tires but it was well worth it and kept me on the road. I have a different car now, but that's how I solved my Civic issue. As far as choosing the tires, I used Tire Rack.
