That's a huge issue here in the state of Michigan, a huge uproar occurred after a teenager who was addicted to synthetic marijuana (or spice) and planned to go to his parents home (he had been kicked out of the house) and rob and kill his family. He succeeded in killing his dad, permanently leaving his mother and one of his brothers brain damaged, two other siblings managed to escape injury.

A couple weeks later a grandmother that had heard the story about the boy killing his father and attempting to murder his family was so afraid that her grandson (who was addicted to synthetic marijuana) would kill her too and she ended up shooting and killing him when they had an argument.

The governor of Michigan has since signed a bill banning the sale of synthetic marijuana in Michigan. If only all bills would move so fast, I think it took less than a month.
