one of my friends NEVER has cash on her - she has a full time job and gets paid plenty but whenever we go out she only ever bring her credit/debit card so it's fucking impossible to split a bill. a few weeks ago we went to the markets and there was a bag she really liked and the nearest ATM was about 15 minutes away. So i lent her $50 and she promised to stop by the atm on the way to lunch and reimburse me.
instead she decided she would just pay for lunch (which was like $11) and then she would just buy me drinks or something the next few times we go out. it pissed me off so much but i'm too non-confrontational to say anything. learned my lesson for sure though!

That would really annoy me. It's one thing if what's paid for is a similar amount - like if you'd only loaned her 10 bucks and she then paid for an 11 dollar lunch - but to just leave a big amount open ended and in little pieces like that over time? Hell no. Leaves you out of pocket, especially if you get busy and don't see each other too often
