Oh, I've been using a Conair one for a few years now too, but I paid $5 for it at a yard sale (brand new in the package!).  I wish I didn't have to buy a new one, but mine is literally about to catch on fire...it's making some popping sound.  I just can't see myself paying that much for a straightener from Walmart when I know I can get something better for a little more money!
