When a customer decides to bitch and complain at the total.

I work in food service. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. People complaining about a few cents extra are fucking annoying. It's like, are you going to die if you have to pay 50 cents extra than you originally thought? Ugh. smiley: mad

I'm not normally one to complain about a few extra cents but i've been to places where they have 1 price listed on the menu and then when i get a bill its more. Or my waiter didn't take off my coupon or a special they were having! Don't advertise a certain price if you aren't going to honor it. Some people live on a strict budget and maybe the 50 cents would hurt them!! Besides the fact i don't want to give these big companys any more than i have to, i work hard for my money and i'm spending it at your store so atleast honor the prices! I know you cannot control what the computer calculates the total as but make sure its correct BEFORE you print out the bill!! I used to work for Bath and body works and we had the semi annual sale 2 times a year, well normally on the first day of the sale alot of things wouldn't ring correctly so i ALWAYS made sure the prices were correct before i told them the total, its not the customers fault the computer is ringing something wrong or you miscalculated on a bill!

Anyway, here are a few of my own when i work retail

--I would atleast once a week have a customer come and bring me a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon and try and use it, i was always nice and say i'm sorry this is bath and body works we can't accept that coupon and i've had people actually get hostile as to why they couldn't use it!!
-People who ask me if they can use my store discount, i'm not talking about friends either, just a random customer in the store!  Umm no because i'm not losing my job so you can save a 1.00!
- People who try and use expired coupons, yes we accept them but only within a week or so. NOT almost a year later! Had one lady tell me well blah blah store does it!!
-Customers that would ask if i could discount the purchase, give them a "special" price. NO! I don't set the prices and i can't just give you a discount!  This isn't a garage sale!
