I can understand why they did it. The Chevy thing was handled horribly an he often butted heads with the network over creative differences. However, Dan put his soul into the show. If he didn't fight the network we wouldn't have episodes like the Dungeons & Dragons one and that's one of the reason why fans loved him. Community is one of the most ambitious shows on television and Dan is the biggest reason why. The studio probably has a strong case to fire him but the manner in which they did it (not telling him he was fired) is a slap in the face to not only Dan but the Community fans. They probably could have brought in someone else to be the showrunner and kept Dan on as an executive producer but I feel like neither side will put aside their egos.
