what i don't get about the "stand your ground" law is, Trayvon was in his own neighborhood, too. walking home, minding his own business, when a man with a gun started following him and thinking he was causing trouble- and he defended himself.

i can believe zimmerman might have felt his life was in danger when he shot, but it just seems irrelevant to me. how can the law allow that if i start a fight with an unarmed person on the street, i'm allowed to shoot them if they're beating me? it seems like if i wanted to kill anyone, i could just approach them really aggressively with a gun, wait for them to fight back, and then shoot them.

it's crazy to think anyone but zimmerman is to blame for this. he's clearly paranoid and a danger to others... that's why he's the one approaching strangers with a gun against police advice.
