I agree that he never should have gotten out of the car in the first place.

That aside I was watching cnn, I think it was anderson cooper's show, and they made a mention of death threats against Zimmerman. Apparently The New Black Panther party publicized that they put out a hit on him as an organization and had gone to his house a couple of times in order to try and carry it out. That's a big WTF to me. I know he's public enemy #1 right now, but that can't be acceptable.

The lead investigator on the case recommended manslaughter and the prosecution went for murder 2. I think it's rather interesting that she didn't call a grand jury in this case and instead decided to prosecute on her own with out the indictments of a grand jury. I think that's also pretty telling that it was brought against Zimmerman because of the backlash.

Also on the show they were talking about how Witness #6 changed his statement. Some are saying it was out of fear. Either way he retracted that it was Zimmerman yelling for help and instead said that he didn't know who it was because it was rainy and dark and that he assumed that it was the person on the ground getting beat up that yelled it, and that he doesn't know for sure who it was. That's a pretty important piece of evidence.

Zimmerman's statement claims he turned around and was going to meet the police officers when Trayvon attacked him from behind. I don't know that I necessarily believe that, especially because the girlfriend said she heard Trayvon saying "get off" after he dropped the phone. But it was raining out and he dropped the phone face down in the grass.
