"Let's talk about the elephant in the room. I'm black, OK?" the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. "There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood," she said. "That's why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin."

i think this part is bullshit.  some random black men robbing the neighborhood doesn't mean zimmerman should've treated every black man he didn't know in the neighborhood as suspicious.  that is completely unfair and wrong, and it's exactly that mentality that led to this mess in the first place.  it would be one thing if trayvon had actually been doing something questionable, but he wasn't...at all.

i also want to add that it's silly for that women to state her race, as if that justifies her comment.  being black doesn't mean it's impossible for you to be racist towards other black people.
Exactly.  Contrary to what some would believe, black people are not monolithic.   Trayvon had NOTHING to do with those other boys. To say that the young black men who robbed a place in the complex were the reason Zimmerman suspected Trayvon is blame shifting.  That very well may be the case.  But it is NOT an excuse.   It IS profiling.   It does NOT justify the incident in any way.    My black sons are only responsible for THEIR actions, not the actions of other black kids.   Unfortunately, many in this country don't see it that way.

And ICAM about the lady stating she was black.
