I really liked Dreamcatcher, but I do get how the whole shit weasel thing can make people roll their eyes at it.  I seem to enjoy his books that have a big psychological aspect to them, like that, Gerald's Game, and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

And I don't think he looks particularly creepy.  Actually, I think he looks surprisingly normal for somebody with such a twisted imagination.  Did you know he apparently scares easily?  At least he did when we was a kid.  He's said that that's how he started writing, he'd write about things that scared him because they didn't seem as scary afterward.
