I think her movies were just bad.  Comedies often ruin actor's skills because they're so out in left field trying to be funny that you can't really see how good someone is because it's so off.  I just think she was great in Grey's, her character dealt with a lot and she made it seem realistic.  Without spoilering it for people who might watch it in the future, the thing I liked about her character was that she was an obviously pretty girl who used to be a model but wanted to be taken seriously as a doctor and not be mocked for the route she went before, before Grey's kind of veered off into crazytown with her they actually had a good character there and she was believable.  I think if she did more dramatic work she'd be taken more seriously, the comedies are so dime a dozen and they're often so stupid that you have no idea how good anyone acts because the lines and plot are so bogus.
