It's obvious from the replies, we can all agree ending a friendship is sometimes more painful and difficult then ending a relationship. You hold your friends to higher regards because you specifically chose them to be in your life as your support system. When they hurt you, the pain runs deep. I'm sorry your friend turned out to be a super turd. We have no control on how people choose to act. All we can do is control our reactions. You are handling this very maturely and I applaud you for that. Losing someone you thought cared for you sucks either which way you slice it. All you can do is NEVER blame yourself for someone else's personal problems. Everyone in this post has been burned by a friend and knows how it is. Anyone who can pick a part something that maybe you might've did wrong is probably better off being friends with your former bff. Those types of people will always find blame in the other person. Be strong and try to move on from stupid people that don't deserve a second of your time.
