^^ Yeah, People is not really a tabloid, and has a lot more cred than US Mag, and usually celebs go there to clear up the tabloid crap, including Aniston when Janice Min went after her. So this 'mystery man' thing is really a non-story, and for People to have run it and made her the cover, required some valid info from direct sources as well as an agreement with her PR agent to get her the cover.

The fact that she's backing off, makes them look stupid. Because people wonder why she's on the mag in the first place, and then doubly so, if the story is a lot of hype and they back off of it. Aniston makes People look bad, not too smart.
