I put this on my Facebook status this morning:

"If you don't support the Occupy movement, you don't understand it or you're in the 1%."

Clearly it applies to JJB as well.
My problem is that I don't believe 75% of the people participating actually understand it.

THIS.

I don't understand why people continue to think this. Have you been to an occupation? Have you attended any of the events or sit-ins or teach-ins or marches or concerts or anything the Occupy movement near you has done? Or are you just basing that opinion off of the idiots the media finds to interview that make the whole movement look bad?

People are very aware of why they are protesting. They are protesting the idea that government continues to cut vital services for the poor and middle class while continually allowing the wealthy and corporations to essentially do whatever they want. They are protesting the insane income inequality in this country which puts us below Ethiopia, North Korea, Cuba and Iran, among many many others. They are protesting the lack of jobs, and the fact that nobody in Washington seems to care. And most importantly, they are protesting against Wall St, whose criminal actions costs the jobs, homes, and savings of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of people around the world and not a single person responsible saw jail time or any type of punishment, and the same scams and behavior have still not been stopped.

People know why they are protesting. And people who think they don't are either uninformed or being purposefully obtuse.
