I feel bad that it looks like Joe is going to go out like this and his legacy may be tainted, and I understand that generally there is a chain of command when it comes to reporting incidents within an organization but not when it comes to a criminal act. He is a leader of young men, he is the figurehead of that university and to not do more than he did is not acceptable. To not follow up and wonder why Sandusky was still walking around and allowed on university property to not question more and to not do more...he just did the wrong thing.

It's hard not to imagine the number of victims that may have been spared had he not taken more initiative back when he first became aware of possible problems with Sandusky.

Asking Joe to step down or asking for his resignation is a complete damage control move by the university and completely necessary. It will be hard to watch a football game with Joe Paterno on the sideline (or I guess up in the press box where he usually is) and not think about what he knew and why he went about things the way he did.
