Our family has fostered over 30 dogs -- all of whom are now in new homes. Adopted 8 dogs from shelters or rescues. 3 of them were/are my dogs. My dad runs administrative work/organizes paperwork for a rescue group that has over 150 dogs.

I've personally taken at least a dozen stray dogs to shelters after finding them at my former workplace or where I used to live. Last week, I chased a stray terrier down a highway after a car in front of me almost hit him. For over 2 years, I volunteered weekly to wash and bath retired greyhounds. Rescued a kitten from a trash can and gave him to a friend. Done at least dozens of home visits for a rescue (all of whom who have adopted). Transported 5 dogs across the country, from Houston to Phoenix.

People think I'm nuts, but I always have a leash, towels, and a sample-sized bag of dog food in my car.
